Bang for buck type of deal, something that doesn't have insane markups and is of good quality
Acer Aspire E15 E5-574G
It's around $500 with a 1080p display, core i5 6200u and a 940m for light gaymen. Use it for college and the only way I'd be happier would be with a $1000 gaymen laptop.
>1200x800

Thinkpad W520
>1080p with 95% sRGB coverage
>quadcore i7
>$400
They are packing in 900+ m's in machines under $1000 now?
thinkpad t430s
Acer Aspire S 13, It's on sale now at the Microsoft Store.
HOWEVER
In November the successor to that model, the Acer Swift 5, will be released. It puts a larger display in with smaller bezel size, and it has the next generation Intel chips but there isn't a huge improvement there, but it will probably be a couple hundred dollars more when it is released.
The Thinkpad E560 with the 1080p IPS display option might be good. Somewhat more expensive than best buy budget crap, but a good display(not the best at brightness levers) and a good keyboard.
It's been like that for a long time, you can get a 980m for less than $1000 if you don't care about SSDs or 32GB RAM.
That's refurbished or used.
Guys this meme is old
why so fucking expensive
Xiaomi air
>battery life — 9.5 hours
>6-generation Intel Core i5 processor
>NVIDIA 940MX graphics card, 1GB GDDR5
>8 GB DDR4 RAM

550-900$
OP didn't specify that it had to be new.
>list all specs except the screen, which is the only feature OP asked about
Not today, chink merchant.
The Xiaomi air has a 1080p screen.
>1080p on a laptop
>good
Pick one
I mean, 1080p is decent but definitely not scratching the surface of Apple's retina displays.....
it's a 13.1 inch screen so the ppi is actually pretty decent
I could deal with 8/16gb of ram easily, but I don't want a disgusting HDD in anything
>I can't read a spec sheet and just like to meme
Im thinking on getting the XPS 15 non-touch i5. Its at 1199 right now but I'm hoping to get a discount in thanksgiving / BF/ CM
Dell XPS 13 1080p.
$799, less with a student discount. There you go.
> want retina display
> want it cheap
Lenovo L460 comes with FullHD IPS and doesn't cost a boatload. Decent specs and built to last.
