The top. Whenever you are charging your phone its on a desk/table. Most tables are against a wall with an outlet so it runs directly to the wall. Currently we have to fucking bend the cable 180 degrees and have a shitty loop laying on the table OR have the cable dangle in mid air on the edge of the desk.

Also with the charging port at the bottom it blocks your finger from cradling the phone naturally, same thing goes with the headphone jack.

Main reason why its at the bottom is for docks and prob also because the internals for the camera/light sensors/speaker are crammed at the top.

120 seconds charge gives it NINE HOURS of battery life. They weren't going to compromise their continuous glass surface and thin profile and aesthetics to save someone 120 seconds per month.

For instance at work I have to do something that can't wait n seconds.
Today at home my mouse ran out of battery while playing counter strike with a friend, in which case i also needed to charge it right away.

That still doesn't answer why the port is on the bottom. Why not the front? Why not wireless charge it?

There are four terminals since it's TRRS - USB also has four terminals, so in USB mode it's a direct mapping. The iPod probably switches modes when power is applied over T and S, which headphones will of course never do.
