Is this God's way of telling me not to fall for the ThinkPad meme? It seems impossible to find a good X220.

No, you're just retarded and don't deserve a thinkpad.

No idea why anyone would want to buy a used computer honestly.

I got my T400 for $90 two weeks ago and it runs like a dream. Anecdotal evidence, but then again I didn't search hard

No idea why anyone would pay full price for a computer when a machine from 2008 is basically as performant as a 2016 machine unless you're a gaming manchild.

Because I don't like spending the same money on a shitty computer with crap specs and build quality.

I think I overpaid for my T420, after adding an SSD and more RAM it came out to about $400. This computer is phenomenal. Incredibly built, performs well, and I love the aesthetic.

>mfw I can game pretty well on my T420

>fall for the ThinkPad meme
>buy second hand X1 Carbon for $800 local currency
>new: $1900
>shit is like new

Love the meme

Hope you guys are enjoying your used thinkpads. :3

What games and what fps are they running at

This is my nightmare.

Stupid shit like Mount and Blade or Morrowind run perfect. Shit like Rocket League runs at 60 fps on decent-good settings.

I can't claim to play anything like The Witcher or anything, but for my purposes it does fairly well.

Got a t420 for $179 on newegg so i can meme at university.

Doing pretty well. It's always luck of the draw when dealing with used shit.

What games can you play with a $400 new laptop?

Try newegg. Here's one newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIABYS4TD1961&cm_re=thinkpad_x220-_-34-319-687-_-Product just buy a cheap ssd and some ram and you're golden.

Because it's much cheaper, and generally still works fine.

I just wipe the keyboards with alcohol and reinstall the OS.

As a ThinkPad seller on eBay and Craigslist, I honestly do jizz a little on them. It's kind of a "maiden voyage" sort of thing I do when I recondition the ThinkPads to working order. I load up a good porno and go to town on my dick. That's how I actually "test" them. It's not just loading it up with a pirated copy of Windows, ensuring the BIOS isn't password locked, and calling it a day.

It's easy to clean off and nobody notices a thing. This is my revenge for all of the lowballers and return fraud scammers -- aimed directly at the honest buyer because fuck him just in case. I also get off at the fact that another human being is coming into contact with my bodily fluids. It makes me feel a spiteful/sexual/dom connection with the buyer, and it's actually somewhat a fetish I'm discovering.

So, next time you're buying a ThinkPad, think of me.

As a clue, I have consistently good feedback on eBay. At least 50+. It's above 50. Could I have 51 feedback right now? Or 500? Or 1260? It's at least 50, and that's all I'll give you.

You're sticking your head in the wrong caves, you retarded dip.

Even I'm finding fine/decent/moderately ok/good chinkpads condition

I'm still hunting around, though

why are thinkpads so hip? I've been using them since I was 7 and other than just loving the compact design and the mouse, it's just another laptop. I thought they got much worse in quality when Lenovo took over really but I haven't payed much attention to thinkpads because I never saw them outside of my dads hand me downs

lmao

Once they started being Lenovo thinkpads they started feeling cheaper, flimsier, and they started including that fucking trackpad bullshit. Do you think they feel quality now? I haven't had one in a long time now
I remember external network cards, docks, bulging batteries and never having that fucking trackpad included
Which thinkpad can bring me back to the good old days that doesn't suck computer wise?

Keep fighting the good fight

They used to be really high quality and user serviceable.
Now they're a meme.

On a less than 13 inch screen it is acceptable.

Is it because of Lenovo?
I know probably not and that's it's probably just general consumer catering, but the brand switch really killed the magic for me as a kid

Well yeah, not used from an individual. There's a reason we get most of them from recycling plants and companies who actually test them first.

CSGO runs very well at low settings.
And for most lan party games, it works like a charm.

I bought a x220T with dual core i7 for $160. That's my current laptop.
I never use it though because laptops are dumb.

P50/P70 and maybe the T460s

Most of them are still user serviceable and the high tier ones are still quality products.
Seems like you fell for the 'all lelnovo thinkpads are utter trash' meme.

/thread

My "broken" x201 came in mint condition. All I had to do was short the eeprom chip. It's a great Uni laptop. It was well worth the $70.

>Once they started being Lenovo thinkpads they started feeling cheaper, flimsier, and they started including that fucking trackpad bullshit.
Other than the trackpad being shitass, I find the T420 roll cage to be as sturdy as the one in my T61 14.1". I've compared them side by side.

This is almost as good as /o/'s cum brownies.

Shit I mean /k/'s.

This is why I clean and disassemble everything I get 2nd hand.

fact: every damn thinkpad people jizz over in these threads was made by lenovo, including the ones branded IBM. IBM only made the really old thinkpads. you can't blame lenovo entirely. the reason thinkpads feel cheaper is because all laptops are cheaper across the entire market. depressing prices in a race towards the bottom can totally kill high-end electronics in a segment. it has happened to TVs and a bunch of other stuff. when people stop spending thousands on a device and expect it cost hundreds and never any more, those products become shitty. thankfully if you're fine with buying old stuff you can get that outdated but great gear used for insanely cheap.

I'd pay extra if u told me u cummed on it

A friend is selling me a X1 Carbon Core i7 Vpro 256GB SSD 13" ... in $500 bucks should i take it? it is a good option or for that money i could get something better?

Minecraft and Hearthstone

IBM outsourced Thinkpad manufacturing because they were losing money very badly on it. They couldn't afford to design it either so they sold it to Lenovo who managed to make it affordable again.

Try being poor. OP, you'll snag one that's in good condition eventually if you keep checking for a couple months. You might be replacing the keyboard or hard drive anyway so don't pay too much attention to those.

Its a good thing the keyboards are splash resistant...

>ebay
>not refurbished off from Amazon or other places
you faggot

old obsolete junk from the late 1990's early 2000's,

they were great back when they were in production but those days are long long past

I bought my T420 in person from a teenage qt, so I can safely say I'm exempt from this

checked.
why is it your nightmare, user?
Don't you like cummies~
