>GiB
This is why you're a tardo.

>16 GB is no longer acceptable in the /3/d world.
I don't have money for 64 GB ram and 600 garrillian hz cpu

no

Turn off your iGPU if your don't use It...

weak

Nice font rendering Pajeet

It's over remote desktop so font smoothing is disabled.

>the company I work for got a server with 64gb server, why don't I brag about it like it's mine lel
and I thought I was pathetic

Where is your video and HD rating?

>why don't I brag about it like it's mine lel
Because it is.

Video: 7.9
HD: 7.1

That's what I hate about MS index. Tied to your slowest device. I imagine a kick ass raid setup would help. But the whole idea of this is stupid.

> total used free shared buff/cache available
>Mem: 62G 15G 5.3G 946M 42G 45G

>tfw fell for the 64GiB RAM meme

It's raid 10 with four 10000 rpm disks. It still ends up at 7.1 even though a single ssd would easily get 7.9.

Too bad. More to my point of index being BS. The whole thing reminds me of governors on motors, or your ISP throttling your internet. Fishy.

When did I say index wasn't BS? If it runs fast enough it's good. In the end it's just an arbitrary number that has even less meaning than bogoMIPS.

Remote desktop probably

that keyboard's lettering pisses me off

Well it's the least-flashy mechanical keyboard I could find that's also under $100.

I said it was BS. Because it is. I need MS to tell me how my hardware is? Fuck them. Linux doesn't have any shit like this. And anyone with half a fucking brain can tell when their system is slow. So what's the fucking point. Seriously? So you can brag to your friends?

>Linux doesn't have any shit like this.
Linux has bogoMIPS

My friends and my brother.

feels good, friendo.

That actually looks a lot better. I'm way past the return date for what I have so I'm just gonna call it a loss and stay with it.

That's not experience index.

2 4GB sticks and 2 2GB sticks?

What besides 3d modeling actually makes use of large amounts of ram?

Virtual machines

Who utilizes more than one virtual machine at any given time?

You could always just get some keycaps, friend

I'll get to that after the semester's over.

godspeed

4 gb is still enough for a desktop.
8 gb is still fine for most games (16 gb is currently safe)
16gb is futureproofish for games
32gb is a convenient vBox platform
64gb... you'll use it someday.

virtualization.

some modern games ask for what seems kinda obscene (BOIII asks for like 6gb)

but at some point in the future, whatever seemed like it would be more than enough will be barely enough to run a desktop its futureproofing, but maybe not the most economic way.

Video editing eats up a lot of RAM. And I usually simultaneously have photoshop or gimp open and in use as well.

>more than 8GB
lol

>not being content with 640KB RAM

>4 gb is still enough for a desktop.
Drop dead you son of a bitch.
