>Shit
>A lot

somewhat around skylake
cheaper than skylake
no thanks

More HSA GCN meme shit that nobody needs.

Rather buy last gen refurb Intel for half as much thats twice as fast.

>Performance?
40% average IPC uplift over Excavator. Going by benches an Anandtech that around Ivy Bridge if you exclude particularly FPU bound metrics.
8 core Summit Ridge will probably be clocked about 3.2ghz base.

>Pricing?
AMD's official statement is that average selling price would be higher than prior FX parts. That means Summit Ridge is targeting $200 or higher. I'd personally bet on the top binned part to sell for $400-$500.

The Raven Ridge APUs coming later in the year will probably top out at $250.

>Impact?
They'll probably make some moderate gains in market share with their mobile APUs, but nothing significant other than that in the consumer market. The high growth segment AMD is targeting is enterprise. Their 32c Opterons will be the bread and butter for them.

the answer to all questions is "low"

>Performance?
subpar/overheating
>Pricing?
cheap, I don't think they are stupid enough to shoot themselves on the foot trying to charge much for this crap
>Impact?
laughs and threads everywhere of intelfags laughing and making fun of faggots that got this because they are either poor or they delude themselves

Uh....

>Performance
Hey, i guess it'll beat an Atom, i guess. Maybe.. actually not too optimistic on that.
>pricing
about as much bang for buck as one of their GPUs i guess, which is to say, awful.
>Impact
About as much as a fart on a mountain

>performance like a 6900K
>priced like a 6800K
>7800K and 7900K are cheaper as a result
>I finally replace my 1366 build with an 8800K or Zen+

Has anyone actually seen the blender demo where it matches broadwell? They might be cherry picking, but it would be stupid to be way off. Is there some in-joke I'm missing because there's no reason to dismiss it besides the last architecture was poor.

Same, except I'm stuck with a 6300.

>Performance?
about haslel level
>Pricing?
slightly cheaper than equivalently performing intel chips
>Impact?
amd stock hits $15/share

if according to amd it is as powerful as an 8 core intel broadwell 145w cpu but at 95w i guess im buying one.

The Blender demo is an absolute best case scenario for the arch. If they could average that level of performance they would be claiming a 60% average uplift over Excavator instead of 40%.

Naples CPU spotted with 32 cores and 512MB L3!

Naples is the name of the platform, not the product line.
The Naples Opterons are 4 die MCMs with the 8 core Zeppelin dies.
Each Zeppelin die only has 16mb total L3.
The Naples Opterons have a combined 64MB of L3, not 512MB.

>Hopefully decent, if it's Ivy Bridge level IPC and not shit clocks I'd be happy.
>In line with performance, AMD don't want to be the "cheap" option, there's no profit there.
>I hope so

>>Performance?
Around Broadwell give or take 10%.

>>Pricing?
$50-$100 more than comparable products within AMD's CPU tier list.

>>Impact?
Barring catastrophic performance, it'll be good enough for most applications and it'll be an adequate alternative to Intel. Pricing it close to Intel's offerings would be insane and destroy any attempt to make any real difference.

>Performance
A huge dissappointment
>Pricing
Cheap. It's all AMD has going for them/
>Impact
AMD might finally go bankrupt and leave room for an actual competitor with money and engineers to enter the market. If not, then they continue being the laughingstock of the tech industry for another few years.

It's going to be shit.

>Performance?
Haswell-E performance in FPU heavy task and 3% faster than skylake in others
>Pricing?
In line with performance
>Impact?
AMD's return to the enthusiast and enterprise market. Domination of low to mid range gaming laptops with HBM equipped Zen APUs.

Cred Forums will judge it by its ability to run non-free proprietary video games for Microsoft Windows that were compiled with icc and act like it's an absolute measure of "performance", even though Cred Forums rules forbids posting under the age of 18.
AMD Summit Ridge will be a great CPU otherwise.

fpbp

linux is shit

*tips fedora*
I agree my fellow sir! I need all these cores to compile shitnux kernel! Totally not underage thing to do!

>>Performance?
too little
>>Pricing?
too much
>>Impact?
the exact same as bulldozer

It's will run only Windows 10
Just like Kaby Lake
/thread

False. It's the other way around.
Microsoft Windows older than 10 don't support these new CPUs.
However GNU+Linux will work just fine on Kaby Lake and Summit Ridge.

Why do you think so?
Do you work in AMD or Intel?

Lenovo already prepared for Zen and Kaby Lake releases reddit.com/r/linux/comments/53ri0m/warning_microsoft_signature_pc_program_now/

I remember when FX 9590 was launched at $800 dollars

Kek

Don't forget every CPU runs on every operating system

holy shit im so dumb, redundant $

Good luck trying to run a 64 bit operating system on a 32 bit CPU.

>Integrated Pin Count
through the roof
>Shilling level
same
>Usefulness
making useless price-performance graphs

>Performance
Severely limited by the memory system
>Pricing
It doesn't even matter.
>Impact
None.

i expect nothing more than a cheap ivy bridge with higher TDP

it will either force a price drop on skylake or no one will care

>Mid-level Broadwell-E.
>Undercut Intel for similar performance.
>Sexual violence.

AMD is a joke!

70% better single thread performance than piledriver
120% better fully threaded performance
4.4ghz on water 3.9 on air
AMD stock > 10$
competitive CPU performance on latpops obvc still superior GPU

>70% better single thread performance than piledriver
So it's still worse than a fucking i3 for gaming?

They will bring 8-12 cores to mainstream

But no, it won't.
A 70% IPC uplift over Piledriver would bring it in line with at least Haswell.
>inb4 muh 3 year old architecture
Nothing changed in those 3 years at all.

Too risky

Yes. More cores are great for most grown-up tasks.

Not an amd fan boy but, if AMD left the market any new competitor would have to license the 64 bit instruction set from AMD like Intel did. Intel would just monopolize the market. Unless ARM wrote a new instruction set for server and desktop grade CPUS.

This has to be bait, Microsoft signature pcs, are sold as official microsoft products. Why would they allow you to install another OS.

The new CPUs from both Intel and AMD will work on linux kernels. Microsoft is just refusing to make older versions of windows be compatible. In most cases, both CPU will work on windows xp even, just with no kernel level drivers. So the performance is going to suck.
