1) Rape needs only a single lying person to work (whereas murder charges would require a dead body)

2) Assange could be sentenced to prison for an arbitrary amount of time, in Sweden, by a secret court, thus taking him out of the game.

3) Assange could have his reputation ruined forever. There is something particularly repulsive about the label "rapist".

They demanded him to return to Sweden for questioning even though it's very easy for them to go to Assange and interview him in the UK.

I don't have much faith, but this movie might make people look at the "nothing to hide" argument differently for a while. I know it's made out to be an action flick than a serious movie/documentary aka Citizenfour, but this movie might just make people question things.

That's not how criminal law works.

Have you ever been involved in a domestic violence dispute? After a person is accused of domestic violence, the accuser has no power to "withdraw the case" or "not press charges." The prosecutor picks up the case in criminal law as soon as they are notified of any evidence, and they decide to prosecute or not. The accuser has no power, other than being able to choose not to testify, usually under penalty of contempt.

Only in civil law can an accuser decide to "withdraw a case."

Criminal law does not work like that.
