I'd say it's a pretty good bargain.
However instead of asking internet trolls for approval, you're better off just asking yourself this:
What do you need?
Or rather:
What do you want from your new computer?
If you want pc notebook as big and chunky as that then go for it (in my view 15.6 inch is too large for my taste, but I usually use my laptops for travel and option for light ones instead). PC stands for Personal Computer, so try to keep to your personal taste; will you be using it for work, pastime, or gaming (in that case buy a desktop). Write down a list of things you want out of a new pc and see if this HP forfills those requirements.
Also instead of looking at specifications alone, look at reviews, tests, and benchmarks; they give a better overall judgement of a computer than any other way possible.
All this may seem time consuming but believe me, it will pay off in the long run.
