Hello...

Hello, recently youtube has been removing a lot of the videos which I had liked (I usually like to go back to them) and it says they have been deleted when I go to my likes playlist.

Is there any way to automatically save the titles of the videos I liked so I am able to find them if they get removed from youtube?

youtube-dl. Set it run off cron and pull in your liked videos

How do you tell cron to do something like that?

Since when does it put that under your post?

Good Goy

if you plan to rewatch something, download it
you can never be sure anything on the web will be there "next time"

everything on the web is there forever. Just wait until someone mirrors it.

that's what i said

Google the link

that's what I said

This. I keep emphasizing to you cloud-native faggots the importance of storing things you care about locally. You never listen until something you really care about vanishes from the web.

Now start downloading. Things stored on public services can vanish any instant, especially on Youtube. Local storage is forever, at least if you backup the most important items.

If nobody downloads it, nobody will be able to mirror it.

thats what I said

Heroes are removing them
Begun, the censorship has

I cant download hundreds of 20+ min videos

I need the names to look up later

probably a script that watches for new videos and runs youtube-dl.

youtube-dl will download an entire channel if you just pass that url. be careful; it'll just chomp through all those videos without warning, which might not be what you want if you've got a shit connection or if the channel has a fuckton of videos.

this

Going to have to agree with this user. I've been downloading everything I like from youtube since 2007, currently using YTD downloader. Sure, it's a sizeable chunk of HD space. But I'm glad I have, because quite a few of my favorite pieces of music have been removed since.
And anyway with YTD you can choose the bitrate, so even if it's 20+ min it doesn't have to be a huge file.

honestly, if you just save the stuff you might want later (with probability >30%) you won't take up that much hard drive space anyway. I save a fuckton of porn but don't save anything on youtube because there's virtually no chance of me wanting to watch anything on youtube more than once. all the porn takes a few terabytes. in dollar terms that's basically a pittance (assuming you have a job).

the people on this board that are so averse to downloading stuff seem like they're part of the same ilk that uses their phones for all computing and shit like that - they belong at the mall like their other mall rat friends.

>I cant download hundreds of 20+ min videos
why not?

if you can stream them, you can download them at least as fast as realtime
