Hard drive at 100% with little useage

My hard drive stays at 98-100% no matter what I do I've tried everything I can find and I don't know what to do anymore please help

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

So many times

1) Learn how to take a proper screenshot
2) Read the sticky
3) Fuck off to

check it with crystaldiskmark

usually when speeds go to shit like this the drive is on its way out

I know how to take a screenshot just on mobile and lazy

windows 10 has some common issues that cause this. Use Google to find out more.

You think so? I built comp like less than a week ago

I've done everything I've found on Google all of them useless why is windows10 so shit

>just on mobile and lazy
Of course

> Cred Forums is for the discussion of technology and related topics.
>Cred Forums is NOT your personal tech support team or personal consumer review site.

Taken from the sticky. Don't expect nice treatment if you explicitly go against the rules of a board, and refuse to even put in the small effort of a proper screenshot because "you're lazy".

Windows 10 is known for having these issues. Stop using it.

Obligatory "install Gentoo"

That explains everything

That could probably fix it cause of the shit Windows drivers

>Windows 10
Seriously, when will this meme end? Since when did Cred Forums like Windows 10?

Every time I've used Win 10 has this issue occurring. Shit is just cancer.

Install Ubuntu

Gentoo*

Under Windows 10?

Match pic related, it's bug.

Bump

I don't have this issue

maybe it's windows 10 updates downloading to your hard drive in the background :)

That way he doesn't have to wait for the update to download when Windows decides it's time to update. Man Microsoft was brilliant to do that.

Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Service

Disable "Superfetch"

What's superfetch?

Microsoft service that constantly pre-cache data for performance but it bogs down even PC with SSD.

You could be well off without it.

Just be aware that turning off Superfetch CAN cause strange crashes as Windows will be trying to use superfetch shit when the service is turned off.

is your hdd from 1999? also why is there almost no processor usage?

needs moar deditated WAM also why isnt this in sqt?

goto settings, click on update&security, advanced options, choose how updates are delivered, turn off. Fixed

this... or install your damn updates

RESOURCE MONITOR

USE RESOURCE MONITOR

It shows the hidden processes windows hides .

Type anti beacon into Google .

Download anti beacon.

Follow instructions.

Gg

>sper/g/ gets triggered because muh teknologici y superior hurr u dare disrpeot me

kys you fucking neckbeard
people like you make are what make this board trash.

just toss up a teamviewer sesh OP we'll have a look

I tried to fix this on my netbook for days on end.
Win10 is just fucking trash, let it go.

Classic Microsoft.

>USE RESOURCE MONITOR

this

I know what it is, it is related to windows 10 and a simple google search gave me an answer. Dont be a faggot.

There are people on Cred Forums with jobs, and people that need stuff to actually work.

disable autodefrag

I get this sometimes too, usually goes away after 5 minutes.

Windows 10 is a fucking mystery to me it just kinda fucking does shit whenever, even shit you've expressly told it not to do.

right, so where does windows 10 factor into that picture?

it's the best OS for getting things done

windows 10 workflow . gif

>using windows 10
>using this board as tech support
read the fucking sticky fa/g/
also this is a known issue on windows 10, go nigger it

what kind of computer do you have brand model etc

>I get this sometimes too, usually goes away after 5 minutes.
You useless normalfag, you deserve this operating system.

lol no pajeet. it's the best OS for fucking jobless retards to play their shit steam and microsoft store games on and pretend they know anything about tech because they were able to install an OS by themself like a big-boy. people with actual jobs who actually get shit done don't use windows

At least one faggot technician in Fox News uses linux.

Turn off Superfetch. Turn off Windows Defender.

Problem solved.

Had the same problem with two drives with windows 8.1
Switch to ssd, install some linux distro or windows 7

>Mfw 16GB RAM
>With superfetch: low on ram 95% of the time for no reason, causing VMs and browsers to force close constantly after a day
>Without superfetch: random crashes and bluescreens
Why am I even trying anymore

Ppl like you are truly making this board trash though...
>>>>>/sqt/

CompatTelRunner.exe , it's data collection bullshit, enjoy being cucked, faggot.

It's BITS and WU stop panicking ffs

I havent had issues with superfetch since windows 7, or vista if it was even aroun then. It's probably telemetry doing hdd speed tests.
