Mac thread

My mom's MacBook Pro is from 2008, which means it can't get macOS Sierra. Xcode is an update Nazi and I use my Mac for internship coding, not fizzbuzz, so I need the latest and greatest shit.

What model should I buy for myself? No gaymen, no Nutflix, just emulating iPhones and iPads.

... what?

if this isn't trolling, please stop posting like a retard.

Well, I mean I need a newer one. Used Macs aren't cheap anyway.

Well this surely has to be bait

what are you asking? you have a budget. there are basically 2 dimensions when you think about apple computers: portability and price.

if you need portability, you need to look at the macbooks, pros, and airs. if not, then you have more options.

get the computer that's within your budget. buy used if you need to.

do you really need me to tell you *any* of this?

>My mom's MacBook Pro is from 2008, which means it can't get macOS Sierra.
But you can.

>Try this hack

suit yourself. I run sierra on 2008 mbp just fine.

I thought it was kind of implied that I would be getting a laptop as a replacement.

I don't think Airs have the RAM for emulation.

How many apps have you published from it?

...

1) if budget is an issue then no, it's not implied that you'll be splurging for a portable machine. non-portable machines are cheaper.
2) why do you need me to walk you through this? can you work this out on your own without posting a stupid thread? you seem to have all the pieces. are you too stupid? do you just need someone to hold your hand?

Wrong board, fag.

Cred Forums is not your personal consumer recommendations board for fruity toddler toys

Wow you are so triggered. No friendly suggests like, "Have you thought about a late 2015 Macbook user?" I need a laptop for the portability, not because it's cheaper.

Find a 2012 MacBook Pro; used, whatever.

It'll be perfect for your needs.

I use it as my daily driver for work, the battery life is 6 hours+ coding all day and it's heavily supported on Linux as well.

>hey guys plz help
>Proceed to act like a jack ass
Hmmmmmm.

>mac users are entitled fags
You really shouldn't be surprised.

There's not many suggestions one can give when it comes to Macbooks... just pick whichever one works best at your price point.

wait a few weeks, the new ones are coming out later this month

>Wow you are so triggered.
this is the mildest shaming i can come up with without inadvertently giving you the impression that these thoughtless threads are welcome here. they're not. if you can answer these questions with 10 minutes of thinking to yourself or 5 minutes of googling, you shouldn't bother us with this shit.

>No friendly suggests like, "Have you thought about a late 2015 Macbook user?"
if you have that in mind, why not just ask about it?

for that matter, what are you even asking? you have a laptop in mind. you know your budget. you haven't even told us your budget so even if you needed someone to tell you if X is greater than Y, we couldn't help you.

what exactly do you want from us that is more than listing all the macbooks on apple.com?

>I need a laptop for the portability, not because it's cheaper.
so then what's the problem? what are the unknowns here in your head?

you only notice the people that are obnoxious. i see so many faggots posting about how annoyed they are with windows 10, how much they want to rice it, etc... but nobody ever says "Hmmmmmmm." to those threads.

if you hone in on macfags, that's all you'll see. but that's hardly all there is.

>so then what's the problem? what are the unknowns here in your head?

He hasn't watched TV recently, so Apple hasn't told him what to buy yet.

The people posting about their Botnet 10 shit don't usually proceed to act like an entitled faggot.

if you guys think this is the case, you should report the thread. if it's miscategorized, the mod will delete the thread and maybe ban the OP.

if you don't really believe this shit, then stop shitposting like this. there are so many ways to hide threads that the only way you could post your disapproval of a thread is if you actively seek out this shit.

are you fucking kidding me? they absolutely do.

Do you have a single fact to back that up?

macbewk have no bwindow kee

literally look at any of the windows 10 threads. or are you telling me you expect to see winbabies throwing tantrums in *this* thread?

Feel free to back up your claim at any time.

I like rule violating threads that are going to be deleted anyway because I can post whatever I like in them.

So what's everyone watching this season?

>Have to pay $2000 for a passable Laptop
>$3000 for a passable desktop

Yeb!

>I like rule violating threads that are going to be deleted anyway because I can post whatever I like in them.
i've been banned for off topic posting in a doomed thread. you only think you're immune because you don't have a sense of how moderators work, and you're probably too new to have a clue.

Good idea.
