Holy fuck, the XZ Premium is great.

If only it looked great.

I've installed the latest android studio but I don't have that folder path?

I get my G6 on Tuesday, any G6 owners ITT?
Do you have it rooted and rom'd? Was it worth it?

Me too.

Whoops.

I just broke my LG G3. Is there a phone in the 200 dollar range that beats it or should i just buy another g3?

Where's the updated news :(
Kirinoguy, don't leave us.

V20 maybe
how'd it break?

Just got the international ver Xaoimi Mi A1 omfgggggg it's comfy af, anyone else on love with it?

face first onto a cement floor at work. It was a refurbished model so it only ran me 150 bucks. I run on a pay as you go carrier so i like me some unlocked gsm phones. I know dick all about phones though now im sifting through benchmarks liek an asshole trying to get something i can 2 day ship. Maybe i might spend a little more but IDK.

if you're down for another refurb then stick with if you want something new check out /csg/ for their recommendations, it'll probably end up with you getting a xiaomi

It's a very unflattering picture of the phone.

pastebin.com/MWLcYrqv

fugg i wanted to try to avoid chinkshit. I generally use my phone stock, but like the idea of rooting. Worst part about this is i need it by fucking monday. If i expand my budget to 400 is there something else? Are One pluses trash heaps, i rmember them being fawned over for a while/

My 950's headphone jack just died so I'm getting used to the whole "no headphone jack" meme, and Essential claims to be coming out with a headphone jack Connector thing for their backplate attachments.

Talk me out of it Cred Forums

If you want to stick to LG, you can get used GSM unlocked LG G6 on eBay or sometimes swappa for $250. You can get it new for $400. It's a very good phone.

Don't bother with importing phones. Most aren't fully compatible. You'll be only using 3G on the "compatable" ones, so internet browsing, social media and downloads will be slow.

The Honor 7x is the current meme budget phone. $200 unlocked GSM on Amazon, pretty solid phone all around and the 18:9 aspect ratio is quickly becoming the market standard.

Other misc. choices:
>the OnePlus 5T is highly recommended if you want to keep saving, arguably the best smartphone around, and $500
>the Essential Phone has a really unique design and good build for $300 used, $500 new; very big screen but small form factor, smaller company though
>the Google Pixel (both normal and XL) are great phones with excellent software that gets lots of support by Google, can be found used or refurbished for $350-$300 most places, they should last a long time
>the Nextbit Robin is a phone I used for a while, solid little phone with specs that were flagship in early 2016, can be had new on Amazon for just $120, however the company was bought by Razer to make the Razer Phone, and the Robin no longer gets software updates. It got it's last update to Nougat last year. The build quality feels kinda cheap, it's all plastic, but it's been surprisingly durable.

Hope this helps.
It's worth noting that over the next couple of years, basically every company will move to 18:9 aspect ratio on their phones, and software will likely follow. Something to keep in mind.

Also (same poster as before) I had the Oneplus One, and it was the best phone I ever had. I really wish I wouldn't have slammed my chair leg on it.

If you're really into rooting and modding, Oneplus or the Pixel phones are the way to go.

Anybody know if there's going to be a price drop for the Samsung Galaxy S8 through AT&T soon?

probably not until the S9 is announced at the earliest

Wasn't it announced and given a release date already?

okay so I'll mini-review the FREETEL MUSASHI! my better smartphone is a moto g4 plus, for reference, I'm no flagship guy, so when I say "adequate performance", that is what I compare it to!

goods:
+ a fully working android flip phone, cool
+ build feels nice, buttons feel nice
+ buttons work well with the software
+ performance is just about adequate for most necessary tasks
+ it is getting kinda cheap by now, so not a necessarily a bad pick for a secondary phone for the weebs
+ good bandwidth support for 2G, 3G and LTE
+ removable battery!
+ using it feels like I'm from an anime!

bads:
- I think I'd prefer it if it didn't have two big touch screens but the outer shell was just plastic with maybe a small screen
- battery life kinda sucks 'cause it has a small battery. it probably sucks 1-3% an hour even if you don't use it much
- no 3,5mm jack, gotta use microUSB adapter
- the device would be better if it was a little bit smaller - the size is pretty much like if you stacked two iPhone 5 on top of each other and installed a hinge - the screens could very well be like 3,5" if it meant a smaller device, in my opinion
- the screens should indeed either be smaller or have a higher res

tl;dr its a pretty nice thing if you want to use it like a glorified feature phone. biggest single problem is the small battery, if it was better, I could actually recommend the phone

holy fucking shit how autistic must you be to actually write/collect a detailed analysis/explanation like this
i mean i think its a decent analysis but it doesnt address some of kirino's main drives throughout the series, such as half of the reason she goes to america, or why the love between the two actually exists
it does well explaining most of the subtleties throughout the series (the kiss in the epilogue, why kirino let her friends confess, what life consulting actually means for the two of them)
i agree with most of line 19, i.e. why kirino tries to distance herself from kyousuke at multiple times throughout the series, and i'd like to expand on it saying that kirino, for the major part of the LNs hates her love for kyousuke. this is probably due to kyousuke's change after the sakurai "incident" and his normalization and continued association with his manipulator (manami). an extrapolation on it could be that kirino hates that she is unable to do anything about it. she excels at pretty much everything, theres not much she cant accomplish, but she cant win over kyousuke (or even tell him her feelings).
partly because of her being a bit dere-dere if she's not on edge, and also insecurities forced on her by manami in her youth. this makes her hesitant to go all in and succeed, which is why she has always failed in this regard

notch is trash

OnePlus 5 or 5T

why do you have to choose between the two? Why not just get the "upgraded" one in the 5T?

price

answer me!

Lineage doesn't come rooted, you have to use a 3rd party root, right?
Which one should I use?

Minecraft was pretty fun

Specs wise? disregard the ROM. Note 4x or MI A1?

Anyone uses Huawei phones?
Did you get the latest updates with the android security patch?

is 100k in antutu good?

> (You)
>until you start seeing apps force closing and features missing.
It's stock Android lol not sure how what you are talking about can happen, it's not the MiUi

Samsung S8 or be a normie and get an iPhone 8 Plus

XA2 is a beautiful phone for normies. Since you're on Cred Forums, you should probably go Moto though.

XA2, easily

Moto g5 plus my dude

why is my touchscreen not detecting touches at low resolution but is fine in higher?

Any way to change the menu colours on Android 8.0? The default white and blue is hideous.

grab a used iShill 6 Plus 64gb for 70$ like me. Good camera good screen good IO what not to like? except crash at below 0c and ridiculous battery drop :^)

shit i meant good UI not IO

anyone?

It's decent

My $99 Mi4C on SD808 gets 80k. Redmi Note 3 Pro gets 88k on sd650. My mix 2 gets 189k on sd835.

So I flashed the SU addon from the lineage website but root checker still says I don't have root.

I'm using Oneplus 2, costed me 90 Euros and running Lineage. probably best performance to price and getting also 5+ hours of sot. 4gb ddr4 ram is also pretty great. this thing aged very well

My coworker has one and goes on about how it's insanely shitty, he says he gets like 2hrs SOT and it just drains half his battery at work in his backpack

But the kid is retarded. He keeps running all these special bleeding edge supersnowflake builds with dumb kernels and probably every fuckin thing is broken and wakelocking.

He won't run stock because he's left handed and hates the capacitive buttons so he wants a navbar, and he won't run lineage because it's not special enough. He paid $600 for his OP2 and shits on me for paying $600 for a mi mix 2 lol

lol wtf why would you pay 600 xD that's so stupid. It's faster than an S7 actually but still weird

Kek

Burger bucks

The hardware generation of the OP2 is that if a S6. S7 has SD820 and will get 160k antutu, but lineage has less bloat

S7 gets about 130k now

youtube.com/watch?v=-wsHWQSmRQQ&t=0s

So 8GB isn't a meme huh

>i mean i think its a decent analysis but it doesnt address some of kirino's main drives throughout the series, such as half of the reason she goes to america
It does, she's running away from kyousuke who she's deeply in love with. She knows that she can drown herself in her passion of running and eventually leave her passion for kyousuke behind but it's fucking futile because her passion for kyousuke fuels her other passions and without him she's not the same.

>or why the love between the two actually exists
It does partly, mamani is a huge cunt who wanted to turn kyousuke into a fucking normie and severed the sibling ties between him and kirino by using the dumb rock climbing incident with that dumb girl to do so. Thus a cold war transcended to feelings of romantic love that burned so hot it could melt steel beams and no amount of fronting could extinguish.

This is a really dumb question, but is there any kind of chance I would fuck something up when I factory reset a phone? I just bought an used phone
give it back Jamal
and I want to reset it, but I feel like my dumb ass would manage to screw it up somehow

Also is it really this easy to reset an Android phone? All I need to do is hold down two buttons, what kind of theft protection is that. Does it not even ask for a password? I lost my old phone a while back and this doesn't fill me with very much confidence that I would manage to get it back, if they just need to press some buttons and claim it as their own

if the bootloader is not unlocked or no twrp you need to get into the phone settings and reset it from there

Considering buying a new phone just for the heck of it.

I have a HTC now and am considering going with a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Thoughts?

dogshit, get 5t for best android or note 8 for best features/function

Anyone?

Thanks lads, I really wanted the xa2 but the plastic back lack of quick charger out of the box and no waterproofing are a buzzkill. I'm probably gonna return my xa2 and get a Moto x4. Sony was almost perfect this time. Almost

...

>Sexy color scheme
That particular color does not even exist.

Honestly it seems like a good phone. I love the small form factor. Compact flagships are literally perfect. Still wish it had a dedicated headphone jack though. The module meme is a joke. Moto did it, LG did it. None of them succeeded.

Should I get a chink phone?

>no 3.5mm jack
Why do they do this

If someone has done a factory reset on their phone and haven't set up a Google account on it after that, will it ask for Google account verification if I do a new reset? Picture is what I mean, once the phone is finished setting itself up, you need to login to verify it's your phone. I'm just wondering what happens if no account has been created after the last reset, will it ask for the account from before or does it just let you in right away?

Basically I got a used 3T but I didn't ask what the lock screen pattern is, so I can't do anything with this thing yet. Now he isn't answering my message when I tried asking what the pattern is, so I wanted to do a hard reset again. Bt I'm worried I'll totally lock myself out. Apparently there's some kind of bypass for this on this phone but I don't know if it has been patched so I'm hesitant to try it

Because you touch yourself at night

give it back tyrone

Looks really nice. where'd you buy it and how much did it cost?

This seems really retarded though, can it be this easy to get into an Android phone? youtube.com/watch?v=EOXuhsCKrvc

Lg g6 or v20? Are those worth in this day and age? Both are kinda the same price where i live

How do you clean your phone?
Without ruining the oleophobic layer?

ebay, cost like $120 with shipping

it isn't a good deal spec-wise but hey, it is unique and a much better phone than something like the lenovo flip phone

LG has flip phones that might be comparable (wine smart, easy smart, ice cream smart are their names) and samsung has those higher end flip phones that are probably 300% better

seriously no idea. the phone isn't exactly thin so surely it can't be to fit more tech in...

Alcohol pads.
(Might be dumb) (might also make your phone's paint rub off)

alright boyos, some time ago i accidently waterboarded my oneplus one.
core functionality is still there, but i've begun to notice random disconnects from 3g /4g /wifi data networks since.

right now i'm looking at all the meme phones to potentially replace it:
>purism librem 5
>copperhead pixel 2
>nokia 8
>జ్ఞా-phone 7
>జ్ఞా-phone SE or nu-SE
>i still have my old galaxy s2 laying around :^)

Pls tell me why my choices are shit, thanks.

Why the hell is this shit not working

There's a ton of apns on my sim card by default, but none of them work and i can't connect to any of the mobile networks either- I tried making a new apn and still nothing. Do I need to get another sim card or something from metro? Should I just wait for the mix 2s?

christ... so i am debating between the following:

>getting a 5t for myself so i have dual sim (removes 2 phones for work)
>getting a samsung s8 at discount for my waifu who has a dying iphone 6
>getting a samsung s8 for both of us

any other recommendations? wat do

iPhone 7 is only $500 new right now its a great deal. Just the 8 is $200 more used/new

Pixel 2 project fi e-sim + work sim

How many bands are active on the Mi phone in USA for Tmobile/metro? I thought xiaomi didn't work here unless "global version' and only 1 or 2 frequencies

Sell your waifu and get two 5t's to remove 4 phones for work.

>Want to get a new phone with a good camera, headphone jack, expandable memory, and with decent support
>All of them have some sort of stupid feature like curved displays or lacking a headphone jack, or terrible bloatware
Why.

motorola, LG

I just bricked my Neffos C5L after trying to install cyanogenmod on it.
It would reboot every 2 minutes, very unstable.
I started in recovery again and tried to install the latest official firmware, now the phone gets stuck on the logo and never starts, hard reset doesn't work.
I don't know if there is a way to fix it, it is a very low-end phone anyway, always a bit slow.

If I wanted something with at least 2GB of RAM, and I didn't want to spend too much, what would you recommend? Android please.
Have in mind prices are typically around 30-40% higher where I live, compared to MSRP.
Can't go much more than 200 bucks.

androidcentral.com/android-one-based-nokia-7-189-display-and-dual-lens-zeiss-camera-surfaces

Companies learned from apple that you can remove useful features and still make more cash.

Xiaomi Redmi series

Why didn't apple just make another lightning port at the top for headphones since their argument is 3.5mm jack uses too much space. I hate apple and my iPhone 8 is great except I can't charge and listen to headphones, can't find a splitter easily eithet because iOS blocks chinkshit third party accessories and says "device not supported" error

Thanks, I'm actually considering a Redmi 4A (costs 155USD)
This is the place where I'll probably buy one on Monday: circuit.com.uy/celulares-y-smartphones

I wonder if it worth it to pay 50 more dollars for a similar phone with a octa-core cpu, considering I don't play other games than Chess on it, I just care about it being fast for general tasks (browsing, chat, gps, a few gadgets)

Their argument is bullshit since the space 3.5jack use to take is empty(and you can fit a jack there - it's been done).

>Moto X4
>Amoled
>300€
>Antutu: 70 000

>Honor 9
>no Amoled
>350€
>Antutu: 152 000

how the fuck do you chose between these 2?

With that cash you'd be better off with chinkshit.

Do you play games? Look at the battery life ratings too. If you don't game you'll like the X4 much more for better display, android, and camera.

there are no worth 5"-5.2" chinkshit phones, they're old with garbage pajeet ROMS as their only support atm.

never game much, where can i find battery life info?

fucking apple. they have the most optimized mobile experience but the worst controls and physical utility

Happens the same to me, root works tho

I'm seeing it for 205 bucks, the version with 32GB and 3GB of RAM, seems like a good option.

What do you do when you get a new phone? Do you transfer all your data in back up? Me I don't backup anything but when I login with my Gmail account I get a lot of stuff transferred.

You tell me.

That's my version.
But 200 dollars? US right?
I bought mine for 167€ in an European retailer

70-80% rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth

Android keeps all your app info and contacts so you can transfer it after loggin in. Photos, music, and personal files you can choose to backup if you wish. Usually I backup my whatsapp and sms before activating a new phone, all the rest is app data that automatically restores.

Yes 205 US dollars in various stores here, some sell it at almost 250, but no need to pay more than I should.
I get it its a good price 205 then?

Is there some good guide for dummies about rooting phone and installing custom os?

OG Pixel

I'm looking at a Chinese phone produced by LeTV and called LeEco S3.
It's made out of aluminum and has some impressive stats for its cheapness.
I found it at 100$ (I get paid in euro) and I get a 10% off coupon.

It has 4GB ram + 64GB storage and 21Mpx single camera. 10 CPU cores starting from 2.3Ghz

The cons is that it doesn't have an audio jackpot and neither a SD card for storage.

But I want to know how it performs on internet browsing. Did anyone try it out?

Yet another phone made by the chinese. he second phone I'd like to buy is the Oukitel 10k because of its battery. But again I don't know how it performs and in the meantime someone might create a 15,000 MaH battery this summer or even spring.

Has anyone tried these phones before? They seem really good for what I need and are exceptionally cheap, but I don't know their reliance considering their lack of some features and because they're made by the chinese.

So i bougth a redmi note 4 after my moto g5 plus got stolen, whats the first thing i should do with my new xiaomeme?

flash lineage

UK, 3 network.
I need a physical keyboard and a basic camera. No requirement or desire for apps, a basic web browser would be nice.
I've used android on a galaxy s3 and really didn't get on with it. Fucker was constantly blasting me with notifications that seem like text messages, but when I got it out of the case it's some bullshit advert from samsung, or a googlethingy I've never opened has updated and needs me to tick a box and press continue. There didn't seem to be any way to stop it from lighting the fucking batsignal at 3AM for the least significant shit, apart from throwing it at a wall and putting the sim back in my old nokia, which is where I'm at now.
Are the blackberries any less annoying? they're about the only keyboard phones I ever see.

Hi /spg/

I have access to an old hand-me-down LG G3 Beat. How do you think it measures up nowadays? Is it a decent phone?

I've never used Android before. How is it in terms of security and other areas?

blackberry keyone, camera is actually really good and it has a keyboard. it's also very fast and records 4k in 30 fps and 1080p in 60fps

When will Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) stop being supported fully?

What are some good current Android phones with a great camera and a reasonable price?

I'm not going to play games on it or anything heavy like that.

Basically only messaging apps, light browsing, and a good camera are my requirements, hopefully with no major slowdowns for basic use like this.

iPhone. Thots love iPhones

Any ROM recommendations? I'm completely new to this but open to learning

I'm gonna order the stellar gray as soon as it goes on sale Tuesday

Guy who ordered a used LG G6 for $250 on eBay here.

Using my G6 in the shower right now. The thing is in pristine condition. I've been really impressed with the phone overall so far. 18:9 is so comfy, and perfect for shitposting.

Ask whatever if you want.

Best custom roms for redmi note 4? I'm thinking about resurrection remix or lineage os. Is the unofficial lineage os roms any good because RR only has official oreo release.

18:9 master race

>2018
>Not a 4K screen

it just waste of battery life in so small screen.

holy shit have you seen what a decent capacity microsd card costs these days

you don't need expandable storage you tards just get the base model with 32-128GB and manage your files through your computer it should be plenty for the time being until you get a new phone

4k on a smartphone is a meme. The G6 is QHD but I'm thinking of setting the phone to 1080p to eek out even more battery life.

Always been an Android fan and currently using a Nexus 6. While it's still going okay, the screen is dim as fuck and I spend a lot of time outdoors so it's hard to see it. It's also got some burn in.

Should I jump ship and try out an iPhone like a 6s+, or move to a OnePlus 5T? Or something else entirely? TMobile is doin B1G1 on the V30, which could be an option but we've had a g3, g4, and V10 all bootloop on us....

lineage is always a good first rom as it's stable

And what are some drawbacks it could have?

los14.1 is great so install it

Looking at them all the iPhones are 5.5" max with the exception of the X, which is fucking $1000.

Besides the 5T, should I be looking at anything else that has an oled display around 6"?

>navbar buttons on bottom

Android needs to kill this

The Xperia phones do great with 4K screens desu

They're in 1080x1920 unless they're actually playing 4K content/viewing images

or you can just use adb and set the screen to be at 4K 24/7 without rooting.

I like navbars personally, they're adaptive so they go away in fullscreen apps, and they're customizable.

Where else would they be?

That's not so bad, but it's about pixel density above anything else. 4k is a marketing thing.

What is a reasonable price to you?

I don't think my needs are anywhere close to what a flagship offers for example, so I'm guessing ~300 USD or less? Maybe ~400 USD if it's really good

No release date or price!

When official lineage 15.1 is coming for redmi note 4?

Whats a good phone in the $300 range? would love something that keeps the headphone jack but can live without it

how about an iPhone 7 for $420?

Are there any phones for around $200 that are better than the Galaxy S5? All the phones in that range seem to have something shittier like the screen or processor

Note 8 is master race. Prove me wrong.

New (under $300): Honor 7x
Used (under $300): LG G6

Both are 18:9, the new standard, have expandable storage, and have headphone jacks.

The G6 is better, and on eBay you can get them cheap, but if you really want a new phone, the Honor 7x looks like a really good option.

Posting this from my used G6 I just got for $250. Shop around on swappa and ebay

>Impossible to find a screen protector for my Redmi Note 4 that doesn't bubble up or have tons of air bubbles

What kind unathletic dork are you

alright might look into it. Also looking at the nokia 6, is it any good or should just stick to the 7x?

Not that guy but I drop my phone a lot because my hands are calloused and don't grip smooth surfaces well

Frp lock. Shit was easy to reset when it first came out. Idk about now.

-Jaimal

Not sure how the Nokia 6 would be better.

It's worth noting that the 7x has slight performance hitches, but that's to be expected from a budget phone. If you want smooth performance basically everywhere, go used and get the G6.

How did you get it for $70? My issue with iOS is the lack of file management but the phone is great for my mother at price.
5t for yourself, replace the iPhone 6's battery at Apple Store for $29.

Anyone has the picture of a smug pepe holding a xioami phone while a Samsung and Apple wojak cry??

>android p source code drops
>s9 has bug free aosp because of treble
>note 8 ????

Is Android going to be more like true Linux now which just works with everything?

no

Why google can't do this?

The LG G6 is so fucking comfy fuck

i'm so fucking tired of windows phones. No app support. Model after model the fucking USB C wire falls out all the fucking time.

How's the Google pixel 2?

Heard the Mi A1 has headphone jack issue. Is it true or is that a meme?

The pixel 2? I've heard it's pretty great. The 2 XL? Pretty shit. I would know, I owned 3 of them and they were all defective.

I'm now using an iMeme because my cell company gave it to me for free + $150 credit. gonna sell it when either the s9 or pixel 3 comes out.

iMeme X*

Whats wrong with the XL? That's the one I was looking at. Maybe the regular version will do but I was hoping for the XL

Static in the speakers, blue shift on screen on models constructed before December, problems with some phones flashing a bright white light when the screen is turned on, bluetooth issues, and lots more.

It's a shame, because I really wanted to love the 2XL, but in the end I just couldn't do it.

please, whats the best keyboard?

Gboard swipe/drag method. When you get good at it you can go extremely fast.

Though about this. How long is the learning curve, you think?

Not long. probably a week or two. Even right away it's fast.

Hmm ok. I'll have to give it a go then.

My Galaxy S5 has served me well over the years, but it'll be time to get a new phoon soon.

Looking at LG G6. Thoughts?

Why is there no lineageOS for the google pixel? Is there an equivalent in terms of privacy guard and bot-net-freeness available for that phone?

How's the LG Aristo 2?
>metropcs.com/shop/phones/details/LG-Aristo-2/610214655493
I'll end up getting it for the $60 USD.

Buying for Metro in the US, but don't want to spend more than $60~$110 USD. My old phone was a One Touch Fierce 2 by Alcatel:
>metropcs.com/tablets/details/alcatel-onetouch-fierce-2/610214638274.html
I'd like at least a 5~6" screen, 16GB internal minimum and an SD card slot are musts. A ZTE is out because I want to be able to remove the battery. Rooting is also a plus, and it looks like that's already happened for this phone.

Totally open to other suggestions, or even doing something more exotic like buying an unlocked phone online. My main gripes with the Aristo 2 are the CPU (Snapdragon 4x1.4GHz, slower and older), internal memory (32GB would be great) and the screen size (6" would be nice). The battery could be better too, but that's not a big deal. The camera looks pretty good, though, at 13MP.

Traveling this summer and need a new phone because my s2 just ain't cut for it anymore. Should I buy a xiaoshit now, and if so which one won't fuck me over. Or should I wait for some newer models to come out ?

I've had static in the lower speaker and the grainiest oled display I've seen in the last 6 years.
Phones with oled I've used: galaxy s3 to s7, note 2, 4, 5 & 8
The blue shift doesn't bother me as much as the grain when displaying solid colors

no just get a motorla e4 plus its good garbage, xiomaishit is garbage. Why is the e4 plus such trash.

Stop being a fucking degenerate.

Opinions on LineageOS Official for Samsung Galaxy S6?

Did /hpg/ footfags just infiltrate /spg/?

Best used verizon phone for ~$200?

Anyone?
Btw the note 4x is the 4gb ram model

Mi mix 2, do it faggot.

What's the chinkphone with the best camera in the sub ~200 range?

you have to go on metro's website and register your imei if that doesnt work call up and they should add it

arm has no standardization like x86 and doesn't have something like a bios or acpi for basic use of hardware without proper drivers

>antutu
like you're going to be using your phone for more than faceshit, instashit and snapshit anyway

Current 4yr old phone is getting really slow for whatever reason, and I've been looking for an excuse to replace it.
Budget = $450
Must haves:
+ Capacities buttons on the bottom
+ Decent durability/build quality, i.e. no glass back
+ Good camera (by phone standards)
+Headphone jack
+Expandable memory

* Android version doesn't matter
* Screen resolution doesn't matter

GALAXY note 4 with 10000mah battery.

That's one nice looking hdd case you got there user.

Lol, running gapples LineageOS on Oneplus 2.

I feel so fucking free now

This is a great phone and will be picking up a SIM card today.

Yeah ok link me an offer

Is there a way to block text messages on Android without using an app? I'm using Mr. Number to block calls but it doesn't support texts. The phone is a Motorola G3 running Android 6.0.1

Go on slickdeals and seaarch for Moto E4, verizon sells some prepaid ones for less than that and you can unlock it for gsm (metro) with a code from ebay.

Is this like soft arab porn?

Do all the 18:9 edgeless phones have the stupid rounded off sides like the S8+? Had an S8+ in my hands yesterday and screen etc. is awesome, but man the rounded off edges were killing my eyes.

I'm typing this from a Moto G3 that's getting old and lags, I don't think there's a way to bar calls anymore, you just have to turn off notifications/ringtone/vibrate for the calls.

Not all 18:9 phones have the dumb 5D infinity edge just samsung. Others just have small bezels

What's the best budget (under $300) Sony phone you can get?
Is it worth getting over a cheaper Redmi with higher specs?
I want to know if Sony is only selling your their brand or do they actually have better build quality than a chink phone.

I'm tempted to get a M4 Aqua but not sure if it is worth it, specs are decent but is 3 years old.

A new Xperia X or get a cheap/used Xperia XZ/X Performance

>Xperia X
Like an Xa1? Is it really worth the price difference? It costs like 330 dollars where I live.
Used it out of the question, not getting an used phone with a non-replaceable battery.

>7.0
>great
already getting no more updates? lmao

Xperia X is much better than XA1

why there is no freesync phones?

Yes, it is too expensive too.

Razer phone runs adaptive sync. Freesync is proprietary software from AMD.

>tfw have a redmi 2 prime since it was released
>still good and running pajeet os so it's more or less up to date
>only issues are camera with some noise and some dents on the edges
>tempted to buy a new phone
Is it worth updating?
I'm was going for the mi a1 or redmi note 5 pro, but the moto g6 looks good.

Best rom for Oneplus 2?

Considering that everything on the market right now is either housefire waiting to happen, buggy on most basic functions, chinkshit, overpriced to hell and back, or any combination of the above - no, not really.

I need help with Tasker.
How do I set it so that:

>Plug in headphones
>Rotate to reverse portrait mode

Only because I hate having the headphone jack on the top instead of the bottom of the phone

I thought redmi 2 had Sony IMX camera? It was pretty good when I saw it, the blue advance version or whatever they called it

£200-300 budget in the UK. No particular carrier. I just want a headphone jack and NFC. I was thinking about waiting for the Moto G6Plus as it's being rumoured. Not opposed to Xiaomi phones.

Any ideas?

>he doesn't use Bromite browser
It's like you want to use a slow browser that doesn't respect your freedoms and show you ads.

Not sure about UK prices, but you can get the LG G6 used or referbished in burgerland in that range.

It's not much more for a new one; so I'd go for that if at all.

Not the biggest fan of the design but I don't really care about that.

It has, but roms fuck it pretty much.
I'm using lineage camera so it's not much of a issue. It also has quick charge 1.0, but I'm surprised that the next versions don't have an upgraded version nor that one.

the only good android camera is the pixel's and even that is shit.

Anybody here actually used the Moto E4 (or plus)? Are they sluggish for basic shit? Any glaring flaws?

Is LineageOS still the ROM of choice?

Forgot to mention water resistance in that

I never realized those were so cheap, like £150.
Even though it doesn't have water resistance I'd still consider it
Nancy is wholesome you slut

Recommend a good phone under 200 € with a good display and that does not look like shit.

>Nancy is wholesome
You do realize there are several sex tapes for her, right?

I've been using the E4 (verizon prepaid unlocked) for about 4 months now. I mostly use it for texting and clover and it's been awesome for a $40 phone.

Sounds like you want an iphone 7

Varies from phone to phone, but as far as stock Android based ROMs go, it's the most popular.

Sometimes ROMs based off the phone's stock ROM are better, like Fulmics ROM on the G6.

Is there a hugd difference in terms of power between Oneplus 2 and Iphone 6S Plus? My OP2 scores 100k in Antutu while a 6s Plus scores 130k

Thanks. How's the battery?

Quick question on my v 10 plus 10. When you put the phone in standby the second screen cuts its frame rate in half and its responsiveness gets a lot worse. I get that its doing that for bat life, but is there anyway for me to turn that off? Id much prefer having it responsive all the time.

In short, there isn't a phone that has literally everything you want.

>water resistance
>expandable memory
>headphone jack
>good camera
The only phone that meets all this criteria is the G6.

>no glass back
The G6 is very durable but has a glass back. Most phones that are water resistant also have glass backs. All phones with wireless charging have glass or plastic backs.

>capacitive buttons
Kind of not worth it either way. You're not going to find many phones in 2018 with capacitive buttons. On-screen buttons give you the same functionality but with more screen space for media consumption.

What things are actually most important to you? Performance? Camera? Expandable memory? Headphone jacks? Waterproofing?

Antutu is kind of a meme. Phone-makers know consumers and reviewers use it, so they program their phones to run at higher frequencies when they're being tested.

The things that matter most are:
>thermals, how the phone is designed to dissipate heat, slowdowns are mostly caused by thermal throttling
>SoC, stay away from non SD phones on Android, phones with 800-series are best, but it varies from chip to chip, for example the SD 810 had bad thermal issues
>RAM, up to about 4GB affects performance in general, past that just determines multitasking and how many apps at once you can keep open
>how optimized the software (ROM) is, the Pixel phones are extremely well optimized, the iPhone and Oneplus phones are also very well optimized

The only way to truly know what phone is faster is to just use both and see for yourself. Antutu won't tell you that much unless you're playing games.

I'm interested in this as well. I've read that it can be fixed with an impedence adapter.

The S2 Lite is getting Oreo so maybe. I got 2 FOTA upgrades since I received it a few days ago. My S8 I have also has Nougat so that's good enough for me.

Hi, I want to root my LG G3 Beat running Lollipop (model LG-D772), however, when I tried PurpleDrake-lite's linux script it outputs the following

Rebooting phone...
Waiting for device... ....... Found device!
Found device, checking if vulnerable...

ERROR: Your phone is not running a compatible software version. No vulnerable mode detected, rebooting phone.
We tried to temproot you, and it didn't work. This phone isn't vulnerable, it would appear.
Please post on XDA with your phone model, carrier, and SW version in the PurpleDrake thread and someone will take a look.
Your phone has been rebooted back to normal system mode, no changes have been made. Thanks for trying!

Are there any current methods to root it which do work on my software version? (Android 5.0.2)

> (You)
>Thanks. How's the battery?
I regularly get 6-8 hours SoT

What is the best custom rom for redmi note 4? Lineage or redmi note?

damn that's on par with Moto Z Play 5.5" amoled

No, you should get a lot more out of the play. The play and plus are about the same though.

I heart kirino

XZ1 vs XZ premium vs XA2
???

i want to nakadashi kirino's deepest parts while she ikus

Lewd!

XZ1. The Premium has a slightly bigger screen, which only utilises its 4K screen resolution for viewing photos and videos. XA2 is mid-range.

Hello friends, I need a ~4.7" phone that's not bottom tier kinda like iphones. Suggestions appreciated, have a good one friends!

XZ1 Compact.

How about Oneplus 2 running gapples Lineage OS? Good setup?

its very very slow if you do anything but texting.

How does the 630 compare to the 821?

XZ premium is the better phone

630 is like a slightly better 625. 821 is way more powerful for gaming

Did I fuck up?

>894$
>Only gets you 64GB with no expandable storage.

Jesus.

Unlimited cloud storage tho

That's expensive. I got a new 256gb iPhone 8 from someone on ebay for $740

cancel it and wait for redmi note 5 pro

Isn't that only for Google photos?

Sell it

>Freesync
>proprietary
nope. it's just a brand name.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeSync

Yah but how's the battery life?

sell it before the cops show up

I get about 6 hours SoT, with Stamina mode disabled.

Sounds decent.

Why? I haven't heard of anything better being announced.

kek it's not been reported stolen

Jesus... Return it

STAHP!

new Thread

Hnnnng!

At that price why care about camera quality

What phone?

Yo I just bought a near mint S7 for $200 is it still good for 2018? I'm waiting the S8 to drop in price but I got this as I need it for work.

ye it's good

I've never understood people who ask if they made a good purchase after the fact.

I forgot to mention if I don't like it or if I get talked out of it I can sell it for $300-$350 on my local listings which would make me $100-150 profit.

Nah. Samsungs age like milk. Their updates+touchjizz make them hella laggy in no time, and their batteries eat shit way faster than they should. Only moderately good deal is the edge cause it has a much bigger battery. Also IIRC there's unlikely to ever be root/roms for the S7 but there are on the S8.

If that were true people would just buy out swappa constantly to turn them over.

Fuck well do you think it will last a good 6-10 months?
What is this swappa you are talking about?

>do you think it will last a good 6-10 months?
There are people still using goddamned S6's. Worst case you'll be annoyed for the better part of a year.

Swappa.com is like ebay without the annoying parts. No "for parts" listing/cracked screens/banned devices and all listings are manually approved by staff. It's normal to buy from people with 0 feedback and just trust the system.

Yeah that's true and holy shit that's neat af

redmi note 4

Galaxy S8 with Nova Launcher. Looking for suggestions on how to improve home screen. I like the general theme I got going on, but would like to clean it up a little bit.
