Can't imagine Merkel losing next year, but she's feeling more political pressure than ever before. That's progress, considering the average German still has a sheep mentality towards their leaders and is satisfied with just being ruled and left alone. That means our society and bureaucracy is more stable than for example France but it comes at the expense of freedom and putting the screws to your politicians and making them reqct accordingly.

There is no chance, really.
Some years back we pretty much had a two party system (Merkel party and social democrates) with a small third one to crown the king. Lately they had to work together to rule. Untill now these two partys pretty much collapsed, but still, together they still get their ~50% with Merkels party as the bigger one.

The only little, little hope is Bavaria. Merkel party is actually 2 parties. One in Bavaria (really strong) and one in the rest of Germany. Their leader told Merkel many times to get fucked with her open border politics, but never really acted. Just a few days ago he said he will not support her any further if she doesn't move. If he would break with her she would drop to a good 20% and would no longer have enough to rule. Just pray he finally finds the balls to act.

Well I'm not religious so I won't pray, but I hope he does so and things work themselves out.

You would be surprised how things are here already.
There is currently an initiative in the federal senate of states to disarm anyone who joins a "right wing" party, organization or takes part in their events even when the party or the event are legal. Of course this will also mean that policemen or soldiers cant be trusted anymore if they have the wrong party membership.
Thankfully "right wing" is not defined so that people cant hide behind some technicalities like a constitution or equality and the logical next step against these bad people will probably to get them to lose their homes or whatever.
