Why do Americans always talk about "freedom" and "democracy" and their consitiution as if it means something when it can simply be subverted in any way the court decides? they dont even follow their own constitution since it is open to subjective interpretation on what it actually means.

For example en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Privileges_or_Immunities_Clause, which states:

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States...."

But which in reality has been interpreted by the Supreme Court to mean that it does not actually mean anything, so that in total contravention of the constitution states CAN pass as many laws as they like which infringe on citizens rights at will...this is their so caled "democracy".

The electoral college is a body of elected officials who are support use their independent judgement to pick the president. Its intentionally anti-democratic.

Checks and balances. Courts can fuck us, but often the supreme court has UNFUCKED some of the shit our legislators have pushed. At the end of the day its the legislative branch that is passing the shit we shouldn't have, but the judicial branch isn't doing their job of kicking that unconstitutional crap out.

That being said every branch has been failing for a long time. Ne need a reset back to a more free America adhering to the constitution or a more robust system that can hold back the bullshit.

Dont even bother, Europeans never had the opportunity to put the Enlightenment into practice, like American's did.
