Also harmful is the ongoing management of the contaminated water that is a byproduct of fracking. This is what can create the "catastrophic environmental consequences" people go on about.

So when fracking proponents say "fracking isn't harmful" they're technically correct, but they leave out a lot of the processes associated with fracking that clearly are harmful.
