From my experience Mexicans don't seem to understand the concept of society very well.

Social democracy is a funny term that basically means capitalism plus single payer healthcare. A lot of people equate Scandinavian economic success with socialism but the truth is they're some of the most business-friendly countries in the world. They just see healthcare as a right rather than a commodity.

I don't really disagree, outcomes in many countries have shown that single payer can work very well, and it's not like our clusterfuck system is saving us any money or giving us an edge in health and life expectancy.

It's a matter of pragmatism happening to coincide with public good. Single payer can deliver effective results, it's been proven by a lot of countries now, and switching to it would take us out of the current system which leaves millions of people either uninsured or with shitty insurance that won't help them much if they ever need any kind of serious medical treatment. I favor dropping Obamacare and nuking the health insurance industry in favor of a single payer system.
