Yeah Germans really do call them that, but with an accent though of course
'Dull' phone
I don't think mobile phone is used ever in the US anymore. It's always cell phone. At least anywhere I've been. I wish English had a single word for it, it it does I don't know it.
In Russian you can say мoбильник "mobilnik". Though I guess that's more syllables.
Luuri
As someone who's been to Germany 3 separate times, can confirm they call it a "handy" over there.
I chuckled every time I heard it.
>a handy
I hope not
Yep, we call it really 'Handy'.
Somes 'mobiles Telefon' but mostly no one is using that term.
Do you realise that handy is a slang term for handjob?
Everyone just calls it a phone now. Since most people don't have a landline anymore, there's need to distinguish.
It comes from swabian. When a swabian guy first saw a mobile phone, he asked "hen die koi Schnur?"
Just phone or cell phone. I think people used to call it mobile phone like in the 90's but I'm not sure.
"Mobila"
We either call it "celular", "telefono", or "phone", yeah, we are so cucked that we use English words in our dialect.
I do but most german don't.
Language is what it is; you just have some words which seem to be weird as fuck. Nobody is thinking "HAHAHA BLOWJOB" because fuck, 'handy' is no synonym for blowjob here.
Mobiltelefon but you just say mobil.
Then what do you say when you want a handjob?
Celular o teléfono, Cellular or Telephone in English respectively.
Rubbel mir einen du Fotze.
Yo le llamo phone o cel.

Why are you sideways Guatemala?
We say “fón” sometimes not “foun” wich is the sound of phone in Spanish.
I don't ask for it anymore since my girl never doing that anymore.
But seriously, basially you just say 'mir einen runterholen' what's 'wank me off'. Younger generation of cours eis using 'Handjob' though but the term 'handy' nevertheless is unknown here

I grew up with cantonese. Honestly its an embarrassing language, it's just glorified vietnamese. Standard chinese is where it's at.
Hows life as a Chinese-american? any prejudice?
>Nobody is thinking "HAHAHA BLOWJOB" because fuck, 'handy' is no synonym for blowjob here.

Also we call "vintage cars" Oldtimer.

I just say 'puhelin' which means phone.
The other Finns who says something like 'känny' or 'luuri' are literally autistic.
>luuri
>From Swedish lur
You can say Mobiltelefon, both words are legit.
The cellphone is the only thing that is sure to been not understood.
"Zellentelefon"
>mobil
That's a car over here.
You are just saying it to make the Finns angry, right?
>amerikansky
Then again getting called nemcy is kinda ok. At least it doesn't sound as bad as amerikansky.
Do you Germans ever stop being autistic?
amerykański means american as "american fast-food"
The US citizen is called "Amerykanin"
that sounds less jarring, but still I prefer the nemcy to anything that ends in "kanin".
I don't know aren't you the pros in beeing autistic?
I mean you have outlawed suitors, haven't you?
sometimes we call it "zvonilka" which is like "caller thingy"
