Very few people do actually listen to narcocorridos, they tend to mix on playlists for people who like corrido and norteña music, but those are generally regional or small subcultures by themselves, so it's mostly really ocasional for most casual music listeners. It's nowhere near as popular as gangsta rap in the US and middle and upper classes traditionally tend to somewhat look down on the broader genre. I have a large family from Sinaloa state, and could name only a single relative who would listen to something like that, and then just because he likes corrido music not narcocorridos in particular.
For my generation, I'm mid 30's, it mostly comes as a few rock hybrids from the Arqueo-rock 90's era.
