Not worth the money, get a GTX1060, draws less power and has a better price to performance ration compared to the RX470. The whole RX serie is just a big disappointment from AMD.

This. Although Nvidia like to charge a hefty price it's for slightly good reason. You'll get better performance because more devs will be willing to optimise their games for the larger market share/user base. Not to mention the Nvidia cards draw less power, meaning less heat to deal with, meaning a cooler and quieter PC.

The 1060 (with pricing in Australia) is a bit retarded and the 1070 makes a lot more sense for price:performance and 'future proofing.' However, it does cost more of course.

The decision really boils down to your use case. If you want it to last as long as possible and good performance throughout its life then it's worth the extra $100 - $200 premium for an Nvidia card. If you don't mind a bit extra heat, extra power consumption, less performance and as a result less of a relevant performance lifetime then AMD has got you covered.

The thing is, I like AMD since they're trying always to bring out something "new" and well reasoned in price range. Being me, I bought two RX480 from a pollack who "borrowed" it from store and sold to me for the price of once.(ofc not reference model but the nitro+ oc series). They run okay, performance is fine but I wouldn't recommend anyone when the whole new GTX lineup is a "bliss" compared to the AMD lineup of today.

But that's wrong. Nvidia cards age like shit, AMD gets maintained for far much longer.

My meaning got a little twisted in my wording. The physical AMD cards are usually more long lasting due to them being maintained for the long run and running more open sourced API's, etc. But the problem is that Nvidia just keeps releasing products which in processing power/efficiency is just mountains ahead of AMD. And due to that the cards themselves (although in perfect working condition) will have aged with regards to their processing and not hold up (from a general 'gamer' consumer point of view) in the long run.

I'm planning on buying into the whole 21:9 ultra wide hype, LG's 34" curved panels look fucking amazing. Apparently the 1070 is meant to be able to push all those pixels at a decent frame rate. I don't really give a fuck if I can't play everything with every single setting at ultra, as long as it looks okay then I'm fine. Like at the moment I'm running a GTX 650 which struggles to push modern titles at medium but its still holding up fairly strong after years of use.

4K seems like it will take awhile for prices to come down and people's current monitors to become null before they buy into it. Where as the 21:9 isn't as pixel dense but it certainly gives you a lot more realestate to work with compared to full HD, especially for productivity.

4k screens have A LOT of pixels to push around and besides the top of the line enthusiasts not many people have bought into it yet; which means for people making games/movies/anything it makes more sense to focus your efforts on the larger user base.

I think you'll just have to give it some time and eventually it will become cost efficient for everyone to ditch their shitty full HD monitors in favour of 4k, hardware will be affordable to push those pixels and as a result content will be made with it being the foremost recipient - just need to let technologies exponential growth continue

I have the idea that once the degree is done working will earn me my own home, own life and then I can start building relationships then. But I'm guessing it might be pretty weird being 22/23, never having a gf and maybe even still a virgin. I do interact with mates pretty frequently throughout the week; gym, hanging out, pub, etc, etc. I think it's just girls that seem to be a complete abyss for me, I think it's because I stopped trying after having some shit experiences during my early teen years. Russia isn't the bad guy per se, but it's invaded 2 countries in the last decade and also gets involved in proxy wars like Syria. They also have a whole propaganda apparatus working around the clock (where the +10 rubles meme came from) and they, you know, finance different political movements in other countries. You could argue that America does all this as well, just in a slightly more transparent manner.

They are a superpower with a very 19th century apporach to geopolitics to be honest. Whether that makes them bad or good is up to you. For the Russian people it might be good, for everyone around them not so much. That there is a media bias against Russia cannot be denied.

This is really what I'm scared of. I have two really good mates who I've been friends with for over five years. They are consistently the people I enjoy hanging out with and have always and I suspect will always be loyal, honest mates. And then of course I've made a few mates over the years who have earned similar levels of loyalty and trust but not quite to that extent.

But then meeting "complete strangers" who could be mates of so and so and by fucking them I'd create drama x and then be part of drama z.
