But they are all unique and charming in their own ways so I gladly live in one

fastest way: be craftsman...you can easily make 3-4k euro per month, pay minimum taxes and eveyrthing is cheap here

Bah en l’occurrence c'est juste mon village d'enfance, en ce moment je suis chez mes parents mais la plupart du temps je vis ailleurs.
Dans un autre village, mais plus grand et à proximité de vraies villes (là c'est quelque part en pleine Dordogne donc c'est bien isolé)

I saw a video of a french girl showing off her "apartment". It had a fold-out kitchen and you had to climb a ladder to get to the bedroom. It actually looked pretty cosy to be honest.
