1 meme arrow is claimed 2 meme arrows is delivered
If you've got room for one more track, sticking with the war theme I think this makes a very political closer -- it would ideally be called War is Never Done
So these three are left >9. Two Vietnamese Kids Holding Guns >12. DADDY >13. It's like Nam all over again but says he'll do 9 and is doing 13 so I guess all that's left is 12 unless whoever claimed it is still here
Oliver Campbell
That distortion was cool
Austin Moore
nice, I like the fact that it would go
>21. The War's Over >22. War Is Never Done
Kinda fitting. I also have to say that this album is turning out really well thematically, with a few much needed breaks in tone (If she aint a good cook, black dick rag, facebook, carrot flowe)
im so proud that it sucks on three different tracks
Ian Gonzalez
ill take 12 if he doesnt deliver, ill start recording now
Ryder Harris
I'm looking forward to hearing it in full
Luke Barnes
>clyp.it/rbonzfr0 Its good, the lyrics and tone flow pretty well into War is never done, victory followed by a short bit of uncertainty, wow
>there's like 15 children around me
kek
Levi Moore
this is perfect for the theme
David Collins
should we do a discord listen along when it's done?
nice
Lincoln Reed
I'd certainly like to do that
Noah Walker
seconded
Lucas Reed
These two are actually quite cool in the way they are opposite tones/messages with regard to war, would it be possible to put like a 30 second silence between the songs or something? i think that'd be pretty cool
Juan Gray
great idea
Holy shit I think we're actually making a good album
OP I'm the one who did If She Ain't a Good Cook, I Ain't Givin' Her a Look in the last thread
I mixed it a bit better so the vocals were more clear, and the whole thing was louder. So if you want to use the better mix here it is clyp.it/jjnktitm
Dominic Roberts
which "Can't cook" should be part 1 and which should e part 2? I think yours would be a good part 1.
Nolan Clark
Yeah, I think maybe we should stick with 'an interesting meme album' until the 10/10 reviews come in
Owen Lee
im down with participating in another "genre" album, maybe then i'll even take it like the slightest bit seriously then
Noah Ortiz
funk or jazz would be fun
William Fisher
I'll rerecord it right now because it's bugging me but use that for now I guess.
Ian Miller
if you're gonna rerecord it, do it on clyp, the quality will be better
I haven't heard the other one yet, but however op feels is cool
Chase Allen
if this is true then I'll take a shot at 13
Justin Reed
looks like I'll have to dust off my old trumpet. And relearn how to play, just give me a few years
Isaac Thompson
What's the status OP? Are all the tracks claimed? What are we still waiting on?
Am a britbong and already done 2 songs, so I'm going to bed, night everyone, enjoyed making this album with you. Look forward to seeing the full results some time soon
Adrian Peterson
13 coming up, it's just solo guitar because I couldn't get vocals right.
Here are the lyrics (english is obviously not my first language)
It's like Nam all over again He couldn't get the vocals right cause all his comrades are dead Hey Dicky Nixon do you wanna go to prom with me? Everytime I see you my napalm heart starts growing steadily on the trees See the flesh hanging as we end the draft, an Incursion to Cambodia to cut Ho Chi Minh supplies But I know if we bomb north Nam sanctuaries, our strategy will pass to history, Pretty fire avant garde artistry But I wonder if Pierre Schaeffer liked bomb sounds as Jesus loved power electronics, but Jesus was a delusional man Being with you is like nam all over again.
Hunter Wood
Holy shit user that was amazing, thanks for using my guitar.
Justin Brooks
Bump
Justin Flores
I have an instrumental track lying around that you guys can use as an interlude or something if you want
sorry this took so long, I wasn't expecting us to get done so fast
Logan Ross
For #13 make the real version then have my instrumental be a bonus track at the end or something.
Liam Ortiz
hahahaha fantastic work anons
Grayson Bailey
As of now I have the version w/ lyrics before Vietsong
Samuel Robinson
will War Is Never Over be on the album?
Thanks for OPing this thread. Some of the most enjoyable threads Cred Forums has to offer
Connor Ward
I took an artistic liberty and changed the title to The War's Never Over. Right now I have it as a bonus track with a little 15 second thing I made to put space between it and War's Over but I can unbonus it if people feel like it.
is also a bonus track along with Good Cook pt 2, the lyrics version of 13, the bad version of 9, and the new version of 19. I'm still deciding on where I should put them or just get rid of them entirely, but I'm probably going to keep them in because reprise memes.
Dylan Harris
aight cool
Ethan Ortiz
/official Vietsong listenalong/ when?
Jason Cox
If someone wants to do it they can, but I'm not.
I'd also like to add that I'm currently listening to the whole album and it's surprisingly coherent. Good job everyone.
Leo Rivera
Just as long as you replace my #19 with the redone version, I'm embarrassed because the first time I was too memey.
Brandon Barnes
The memey one is staying, but I will be putting the redone in as well. Turns out the album clocked out to almost exactly an hour, so I have to keep it.
Tyler Green
I enjoyed both versions of your track
Bentley Lewis
Seconded, both v funny
Isaiah White
Listening now
>The Lord's Mysterious Ways >Vietconga >Watch This Drive
Is a god-tier three track streak
Ryder Cook
>Black Dick Rag Guitar >kig od the carrot flowe
Excellent avant-garde folk boys
Henry Hall
>Two Vietnamese Kids Holding Guns -- what a tearjerker, full of emotion
Fuck it, the whole album is a great success.
Jaxson Hill
I'm honestly surprised Cred Forums managed to pull together some moderately serious retrospection on the Vietnam War.
Jason Martin
You're about to hit GG ALLIN AND THE TEXAS NAZIS
It's my greatest track to date Well I like If she Ain't a good cook pt. 2 better but that might not make the cut
Lincoln Wright
>GG ALIN AND THE TEXAS NAZIS what a build up! a real wall of sound created
>The War's Not Over Accurately portrays the paranoia created by war (probably)
>DADDY Despite the title, this was actually really nice
Adam Nelson
>If She Ain't a Good Cook >Facebook
Great markers for a tonal shift in the album, certainly will be radio hits, the first more of a singalong, the second a feel good soundtrack. Good stuff
Owen White
>when the summer shines brighter than winter in the eyes of God; I'll take my time with you As the title suggests, VERY avant-Garde
>see Another lovely instrumental
>...it's not important A harrowing ballad
Kayden Hall
And finally >you are unironically a genius >Vietsong >The War's Over
A very strong finish to a great album by Abu Hajaar, can't wait to hear the fully finished project and what they have in store next.
Personal standouts the moment: >The Lord's Mysteriois Ways >Watch This Drive >Two Vietnamese Kids Holding Guns >DADDY >Facebook >The War Is Over
9.3/10 BNM
Cooper Wood
Just woke up from sleep hows the album coming along? I did 9, what do you guys think?
Ian Murphy
The War's Over is honestly of the best finishing songs I've heard, not just on a Cred Forums album, but in general. Fuck it's good. Excellent, good perspective
Parker Davis
Cool, thanks buddy.
Juan Rodriguez
Does anyone think we can make it onto Fandango's It Came from Bandcamp?
Caleb Lee
I've had a great idea.
We put it on spotify or something and all PROMISE to listen to it at least a hundred times a day and share the profits == Definite profit maybe
Henry Adams
How do we split the money?
Carter Howard
Maybe if we shill hard enough.
Henry Turner
I'm down
Lincoln Nguyen
Honestly I doubt it, I'm pretty sure he'd sniff out as a Cred Forums album and dismiss it even if he saw it.
Leave that to the science nerds to work out
Tyler Brown
>implying fantano doesn't still browse Cred Forums Even then, we could get him to review it on thatistheplan, considering it's dedicated to memes now.
Thomas Harris
finished version is up
Joseph Nelson
Sick
Nolan Cruz
No it's like Nam with lyrics or The War Is Never Over?
Austin Gutierrez
The final line up with the new tracks is great, especially towards the end of the album.
Leo Murphy
I'll unbonus it, and Nam w/ lyrics is track 24
Oliver King
Ah yeah oops, bit tired
Elijah Bennett
/Abu Hajaar band T Shirt/ when
Nicholas Butler
>the sample and saw in DADDY >the ending of I Ain't Givin' her a Look Pt. 2 >those happy "goin' home" vibes in The War's Over And that's only a few of all the great moments. This turned out pretty well
Charles Bailey
Here is my first impression >Track 1 is cool >Track 2 is fucking good holy shit dude >Track 3 made it hard not to fucking laugh >Watch This Drive is still one of my favorites >A Sheep in wolves Clothing is pretty good >Black Dick Rag Guitar, holy shit lmao >Kig od the carrot flowe >Browsing Imageboards by the Ocean, good lmao >You are unironically a genius is a masterpiece >No opinion because I wrote 9 >GG ALLIN AND THE TEXAS NAZIS is beautiful >The War's Not Over is bad in a good way >DADDY holy shit >It's like Nam all over again I dig this alot >If She Ain't a Good Cook, I Ain't Givin' Her a Look is good >Good Cook, I Ain't Givin' Her a Look pt 1 and 2 caught me off guard holy shit that was good >Facebook is really good, and I would like it better if it didn't only play out of my right earbud >when the summer shines brighter than... so avant-garde >see get out of here with your neofolk kid (i dig it) >interlude, beautiful >lmao i dont like this take >this take is still good >...it's not important i wish the vocals were louder, but I like it >It's like Nam all over again, meme magic is a beautiful thing >Vietsong, really cool >The War's Over one of the highlights >untitled >The War's Never Over is a beautiful closer
Holy shit guys, I think meme magic is real
Christopher Perez
>Holy shit guys, I think meme magic is real
>Cred Forums makes an album about war >the artists name is a meme, a meme that is the result of war We made a pretty deep album about the effects war can have on a man's mental health and society in general without even realizing it.
Kevin Perry
Meme magic is real, those trips are all the proof I need.
Isaiah Wilson
>Facebook is really good, and I would like it better if it didn't only play out of my right ear bud
Haha oh shit I forgot I was trying to record something else beforehand on my phone and wasn't using headphones so I forgot that I had it panned to the side my bad. Will give the whole thing a listen soon
Luis Cook
You can just pass it off as an avant-grade creative decision anyway
Jordan Ramirez
>wrote 9 Didn't realize you moved it to 10. I meant 10.
Sebastian Nguyen
Ok, this is legit good. I'm impressed Cred Forums
Levi Allen
Rendering for a YT mirror
Chase Campbell
Bump
Landon Nguyen
I'm shilling on Leddit to get some views
Elijah Fisher
you're doing god's work
Adrian Martin
A true herO
Jayden Sullivan
>tfw everyone likes your song
guys im so happy i stayed home and chugged two bottles of wine, stayed up until 4am and played for this album. feels good man.
the whole thing turned out pretty solid to be honest. musically it can be pretty sloppy but you still get the feeling that since we had to play inside a "genre" (kind of) we all kind of tried a little harder.
anyway, real honor you guys.
Nathaniel Wright
Nice album guys, we actually made a good one. We should do this sometime again.
Camden Collins
this album makes me believe there is still hope, thanks guys
Everyone should start shilling the album on Fandango's twitter until he checks it out
Benjamin Campbell
If we can do this in the space of 48 hours, imagine what we could make on a more professional timescale.
Jacob Martinez
*>24 hrs
Ryder Martinez
Yeah holy shit, it was less than 24 hours to finish the album. Imagine what we could do with a month or two.
Thomas Gray
I just got done listening to the album and holy shit guys I'm impressed, great job to everyone. We should do this more often (making albums)
Isaiah Garcia
Yeah, I definitely had fun making this.
Michael Morris
It's a long shot I know seeing as we're all anonymous but any way we could do this more regularly and maybe one day more seriously without havin to just hope for a thread?
Gavin Watson
We could contact OP on the bandcamp page. I would definitely love to do this again and maybe moore seriously
Blake Green
>Dude throws Chop Suey into a song, >War is never done I LOL'D
Jackson Cook
can you explain to a retard what you mean?
Landon Phillips
One of the songs a dude started singing Chop Suey
Cooper Allen
-I feel throwing in Chop Suey was lazy and uneeded and the album is a supposedly about the Vietnam War...but even if it isnt, it is still out of place for me. -The vocals on War is never done I find humorous, and he vocalist just seems to be very melodramatic and take the song too seriously while secretly sounding somewhat uninterested. Just my opinions.
Jeremiah Mitchell
We were all just mememing and the whole concept about the war just worked itself out. None of us really took it too seriously.
Owen Rogers
I think you're reading a little too much in to a meme album. But Out of interest what are your favorites on the album?
Eli Nelson
I liked the Interlude track, Dammit I want this one to make it to the Folk Album, If She Ain't a Good Cook, I Ain't Givin' Her a Look pt. 1,and Vietsong
Lincoln Lee
The render is coming along well.
Ian Rivera
What were your thoughts on the other tracks?
Jayden Clark
Its whatever. Some very solid, rather impressive instrumentation and ok vocals. But with lyrics that are just "Look we are making an album about Vietnam" phoned in war bullshit.
One that the majority of people will know well, so maybe some Cred Forumscore
William Young
In the arrow meme over the meme
Jacob Gomez
I'd be down for this. I always thought the Cred Forums singalongs were the coolest thing the board produced.
Lucas Anderson
I've actually been thinking about something like this for awhile.
I think the only fair way to do it is to have people roll dubs to get to do a song, similar to how song titles are chosen for "Cred Forums makes an album"
And yeah, ITAOTS is probably the best choice, because the songs are simple enough for people to actually play; As opposed to something like Spiderland or Loveless, which would sound like trash unless it was a large-scale project by the /bandcamp/ threads.
Lucas Barnes
Yeah i agree
Cooper King
I want in on this, I unironically love the album and want more details of organization
Aiden Ross
I would love to do a track, pls someone make this happen
Robert Hill
>>...it's not important >A harrowing ballad th-thanks, I did that one.
Yo if the guy who made The Lord's Mysterious Ways is here still, or if anyone else knows How do you get that effect on your voice like that? I've always liked how that sounds but I don't know anything about production
Juan Diaz
Yeah that's me, I too know very little about production to be honest, but I think it's essentially just light microphone distortion, I'm sure if you google 'vocal distortion effect' you'll get a lot of answers but honestly I just clicked on the telephone effect on Garageband
James Collins
guys honestly, it was a blast working on this album, i'd love to do another one.
like we could try concept + genre. having a set genre stops us from just phoning it in and doing random noise and screaming and having a concept forces our jokes from being a little bit more focused. hell sometimes they even seem serious.
i'm willing to get creative. i've been following Cred Forums albums for a while and this was my first time participating. it was really weird to have people be really into whatever everyone else was doing for the first time. i'll definitely keep coming back.
Noah Wood
Yeah I loved this and I loved working with you guys. This was also my first tjme participating in one of these threads and I don't think I could have asked for a better one.
Jaxson Hill
Seconded this, I found it really nice and cathartic. Essentially, I am in romantic love with you
Henry Edwards
:^) Should I make a google group or doc or something so that we can all continue to work together?
Jack Powell
I would like this
Jayden Myers
Umm alright, what do you guys think would be the best option? Skype group?
Hey whoever made Watch this Drive, if you want to continue to make collab albums with us, you should join the discord. We all thought your song was one of the best.
