Dur-Dur Band - Volume 5 (2013) >qaraami
Incredibly fun and happy, albeit repetitive African funk. Being a cassette release from the '80s, the sound quality is fairly lousy, and the sonic pallette presented is pretty limited, but the band manages to make some pretty great, fun grooves despite these limitations. Nothing mindblowing, just a super tight, super fun funk record.

John Coltrane - Africa/Brass (May 23, 1961 - June 7, 1961)
If Blue Train was Coltrane’s first great statement, this is Coltrane’s first bold statement. Sporting two original pieces and the traditional folk piece ‘Greensleeves’, this album also saw the introduction of multi-instrumentalist Eric Dolphy and marked the first recording for Impulse Records. The use of additional brass instruments to compliment Coltrane’s quartet is unconventional and refreshing, and signals a celebration of sorts. Despite being quite chaotic and full sounding at times, the base quartet always manages to punch through the mix and establish themselves as the focal point.
The musicians on this set are a treat to listen to. Jones’ drumming encompasses the heart of this album, and the exuberant solo on Africa is sharp and tasteful. Workman’s bass is a little too prone to locking into grooves and struggles to explore his instrument to it’s full potential when the time arrises. Tyner’s piano chords glide across the surface of these recordings, such that a less observant listener might lose sight of them. Coltrane’s playing is phenomenal overall, but has a tendency to stretch ideas a little too long.
Certainly a milestone in Coltrane’s career, but the not-so-fully-fledged ideas and limited scope prevent this from reaching true greatness.

>Aleksander Rjabov & The Synthesis Ensemble - Dialogues Also known as "Dialoogid" in original language.
This album is chill as a cuddly puppy's cute little nose. It's low energy, but not Jeb Bush-type low energy if you know what I mean.
Some solid, slow oboe jazz, mostly. Great atmosphere, but outside of a few tracks is very passive and un-engaging. The whole album opens with an excellent lick though, which sets the tone nicely.
Super pleasant & comfy. I wish it was, at times, spiced up a bit though. In the end, the same-y mood and relentless laid-backness does get a bit boring. Still recommended.

Lurker of Chalice - Lurker of Chalice (2005) >atmospheric black metal
A very subdued album, even by atmospheric black metal standards. Jef Whitehead, probably best known for being the man behind Leviathan, switches between more ambient, calm soundscaping and some standard black metal fare, and while he does both well nothing really stands out. What stands out is the mixture itself, everything is done very seamlessly and the two styles segment into each other perfectly. The softer portions do get cheesy somewhat often, especially on the first track and the first minute or so of the second track, but when the second track just /explodes/ into some kick-ass black metal (the best I've heard an American band do it, bar none), I'll forgive it for it's shortcomings. The standard blast beat-laden black metal is definitely typical of the genre, but when it's switched up with more out-there percussion lines and fuzzier, denser guitars, it's really innovative. Damn solid album

AJJ - The Bible 2 (2016) >anti-folk, indie rock
AJJ were one of the first bands I got really into, and although they're earlier records have fallen off really hardcore with me, I still can appreciate some elements of albums like People, Knife Man, and their split with Ghost Mice. They had a lot of energy, mainly in the fast-paced strumming; a lot of passion and urgency with Sean Bonnette's vocals; and their lyrics were witty and fun to listen to. In adopting a more streamlined, poppy indie rock sound, every characteristic I like about this band has been taken away. The songs have no urgency to them, the performers all just sound bored and like they're not into the music at all. The lyrics are basic and certain lines are repeated ad nauseum until they have absolutely no effect on the listener. It switches between (admittedly somewhat pretty) piano ballads and lo-fi, fuzzy punk songs with no tact at all, it sounds too sloppy and disjointed. This band has definitely fallen, and I don't even like their earlier stuff that much anymore.

Unfortunately there is very little interesting in the way of *dynamic musicianship* and *variability in intricate themes*. Mostly this album is just very well put together songwriting faff. Which is nice. It even has a few covers, so that's also a chip off the songwriting brick too.
But it is ~atmospheric~ and ~moody~ though. I can see myself listening to this again, and it has potential to go up. Probably won't though.

Daïtro - Laisser vivre les squelettes (2005) >screamo
I really don't know what qualities I look for in a screamo record. This sounds nearly exactly like something by Gospel or Portraits of Past, yet I love the latter bands and find this kinda middle-of-the-road. The way the songs are structured is a big issue here, everything is very predictable. The songs start out loud and fast, then calm down into post-rock territory, then get loud again until they reach a big climax. This may have a lot of emotional impact the first couple times, but it gets tired and predictable after a while. The vocalist also isn't my cup of tea, there isn't a lot of passion in his voice. That being said, some of this is quite good, like the wonderful drumming and the crunchy guitars. There's just a lot of other screamo I'd rather listen to.

Mannie Fresh kills it once again on production and the MCs on here are all really solid. Turk, BG, Juvenile and a 17 year-old Lil Wayne are all good. They talk about pretty typical gangsta rap stuff but they all have a similar rapid-fire flow that works pretty well.
At the same time, nothing in particular about this album stood out compared to other southern stuff. There's good beats and solid MCs but not much personality. They all start to blend together a bit over a 70 minute runtime so that holds it back a bit.
Anyway, this is solid and a great example how a producer like Mannie Fresh can carry an album with awesome beats.

Everyone keeps telling me having children is the only way to live a fulfilling life, what music do I listen to?
Ultra-angular post-punk, with a very misleading cover. The cover suggests that the album is more along the lines of a power pop record (the similarities to Weezer's Blue Album's cover certainly don't help), but the record itself is a very anxious, somewhat angry post-punk album, heavily influenced by krautrock's motorik beat and somewhat anachronistic in it's guitar tone and guitar work. The album suffers a bit in it's happier, more jangly moments, like with "Fa cé la" and their cover of the Beatles' "Everybody's Got Something to Hide (Except Me and My Monkey)", but the anxiety and the straight-up crazy rhythms of tracks like "The Boy With the Perpetual Nervousness", "Loveless Love", and "Raised Eyebrows" can't be beat. The drumming is fucking astounding, it doesn't do anything crazy but the beat is always kept so wonderfully and it completements the guitar work perfectly. Totally deserved classic.

Paysage d'Hiver - Paysage d'Hiver (1999) >atmospheric black metal
Atmospheric black metal to end all atmospheric black metal. Only "Welt aus Eis" really fits in with the typical black metal sound, filled with tremolo picking and black beats, but the b-side decidedly takes a turn towards more dark ambient sounds. When the black metal is occasionally brought back into these tracks, it seems shoehorned in, but the ambient itself is great, all the tones are created with a fuzzy, ultra lo-fi guitar and it avoids the pits of cheesyness that Burzum's ambient works always fall into. One of the best album covers of all time as well, and frankly it says more about the album than I ever could.

i'll just stay up all night listening to music to keep the threads alive it's no biggie
Frank Ocean - Blonde (2016) >alternative R&B, neo-soul
An improvement over Channel Orange when it comes to the album as a whole, but it lacks any true standouts or really any memorable songs, unlike Channel Orange with songs like "Thinkin About You" and "Pyramids". Every song here just blends together, they all have similar synth tones, Ocean generally keeps his voice in the same register, there are very few noticeable features, and melodies are generally somewhat unremarkable. It does have a very nice, chilled-out sound, and it flows very nicely, it's just kinda bland, for lack of a better word. There is one standout track, and that's the only track with an actual feature, Andre 3000 on "Solo (Reprise)". In typical Andre fashion, he fucking kills it, and makes up for the other squandered features here (Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, and fucking Yung Lean are all on this album, but they're regulated to very unnoticeable background parts). I'd really like to see where Ocean goes from here, I've yet to be very impressed with an album of his, but he's definitely going in the right direction.

>John Coltrane - Infinity
Strange record from Trane, considering it's posthumous and has additional strings added by Alice. I didn't really like the style at first because it gives part of the album a shimmery/glossy feel that made it feel corny. The use of the strings is interesting at points but makes this an inconsistent album.
At certain points, the strings do work very well at some points, complimenting his more spiritual, free flowing playing. "Leo" is a ridiculous ride, the strings sound like they're out of a horror movie soundtrack at points (the name for that style escapes me now) and it really surprised me. And there's moments on the previous two tracks that work incredibly well.
As a whole, I think Alice Coltrane did a great job creating this album and layering the strings on top of John's playing. A bit streaky and far from his best album but it's surprisingly solid for a posthumous release.
Brandon Rogers
how is it as a whole so far? I've been wanting to listen to it for a while but it's so fucking daunting.

Yay first /daily/ writing in a while. It's gonna be brief as usual but whatever, it's something.
The Constructus Corporation - The Ziggurat (Disc 1)
The idea of concept albums always seemed really neat to me. I don't really get to check them out as frequently I'd like to though. When I decided to listen to disc 1 of The Ziggurat I was pretty excited to see if it'd live up to my expectations. It didn't, but it was an enjoyable listen nonetheless.
Musically, I thought the disc was pretty solid. The group's abstract and stiff sounding production pulled me in immediately and remained reasonably consistent. However, as the album went on, I found that the prod started to become somewhat well worn and boring, but that only happened towards the last few tracks which to me isn't really that big of a problem. Another issue I found with this disc was that there seemed to be some filler tracks that didn't really need to be there. These filler tracks were actually not that bad in my opinion but they weren't tracks I'd call good or necessary either.
Lyrically, the disc was very cool. I appreciate well done storytelling in music and think that the group told their interesting sci-fi story pretty well. I really like the concept of the album and felt that the group's way of executing it was fun but it still could've been done better and not taken up as much time of my day.
Overall, it was a cool first disc. So far, the thoughts I have on it are similar to the thoughts I have on the Doopee's Doopee Time. It's a conceptually rich album but is lacking in some areas and shouldn't have been as long as it is. Despite that, this disc was good. Therefore, sometime in the future, if I am in the mood, I will continue listening to The Constructus Corporation's weird narrative and move on to disc 2.
To sum things up:
Le sci-fi abstract beats lamo. 3/5.
btw, Mitchell face for Nyar
Jonathan Murphy
it's pretty much what I expected it to be
stupidly inconsistent but plenty of amazing pieces that make it worth hearing at least once
Jayden Baker
you should write more!
I've gotta add that to my list of like 7 hour long comps to check out then
Grayson Reed
Tell us about your ethical upheaval and the world of disillusion.
Andrew Diaz
Went to the Badlands today and listened to Macha and Motorhead which fit very well. Much more interesting than anything in the black hills imo.
These threads have been slow lately wew.
Pretty much this. Some fantastic pieces there but I could see very few people revisiting it if not deleting it from their library as soon as the first listen was done.
Joseph Howard
yea, no way i'm going to listen to the whole thing through another time
i'll definitely revisit some discs seperately though
Tyler Watson
Agree with Nat. I wish I could write well.
If you didn't get much from disc one I doubt you'd love disc two.
Wakey Wakey a best track btw
Jaxon Sullivan
>not Halsey ironically
Adam White
I'd really like to but sometimes I'm not in the mood or I've got crap to do for school but I'll try to write a bit more when I can. >If you didn't get much from disc one I doubt you'd love disc two I liked disc one so I don't think listening to disc two will be much of a problem. I know I probably won't love it but I think it'll at least be a good experience. >Wakey Wakey a best track btw good track
Kevin Collins
>There's some all-night fundraiser in a park near where I live >I can hear it from inside with headphones on unless I max the volume >It's only local bands >They're all bad
Anyway, what are you listening to?
Brayden Bailey
Hoping to hear some Microphones tonight, and possibly Pink Floyd's Animals (since some lads in the discoid assured me it was their best work)
John Gutierrez
>Animals don't fall for that meme
Jaxson Gray
Animals isn't as good as I remember it being at age 14, but it's definitely not terrible. In general, though, Rogers-era PF is better live than they are studio. The Animal Instincts bootleg is one of my favorite live concerts; check it out if you have ~2 hours.
Adrian Sanchez
nice trips
masahiko okura is driving me a little crazy
Jace Miller
Seconding Nat's motion--we need more writers. Not all heroes wear capes
>Wakey Wakey a best track btw wtf, it's either Long Street or Super Psyche
Animals is lame af, Piper only good PF album, band went to shit once Syd left, etc.
drunk review of something inc
Jackson Howard
nvm, I was going to drunk review Ivor Darreg, but that requires more research and far more faculty than I can muster after a party
Shame I swear I will give it the proper review it deserves
Gavin Brown
Page 7 bump
Hunter Jones
Like I said, there are some problems interfering with writing or even posting at all in /daily/. Also, I don't listen to new music nearly as much as I did when I didn't have school so that's a thing. Will try to do it more anyway.
also >Long Street agreed
Caleb Garcia
Really great write up, nice work! The picture made me laugh, too. About disc 2: there are many instrumentals as well as many spoken word tracks. It's cool. Lots of storytelling.
Jacob Wood
What's a band that sounds like Limp Bizkit but with better lyrics/no Fred Durst
I like the aggressive edgy funky grunge sound you can hear very well on Hot Dog, and like half of Chocolate Starfish carries that sound but Fred Durst just makes everything terrible with FUCKED UP KID FUCKED UP DAD FUCKED UP MOM FUCKED UP LIFE FUCK IS JUST A WORD FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK DESTROY SHIT FUCK YOU and please don't say deftones (white pony is great btw)
Xavier Myers
finally done
I kind of just want to go to bed now, I've been up for over 24 hours at this point. I'll let you guys know what my favorite pieces were before I leave.
Disc 1: Music for 50 iMacs
Disc 2: High-Low Fluorescent Lamp on the Fritz Motai
Disc 3: Oosslloo
Disc 4: Nimb #9.1 Acousmatic 9
Disc 5: Invisible Guitar October 26, 2000
Disc 6: Ephemera 22-3
Disc 7:
Disc 8: Godan Ginuta Nikata Bushi
Disc 9: Duo 1 Meteora Dedicated To Ludi
Disc 10: A Reflection On The Beimlein Song And Improvisation
definitely worth listening to at least once, I'll be revisiting discs every now and then (especially 8 and 9)
if you're going to try and do this all in one sitting, bring food and water, I forgot to and regret it
Colton Carter
Sounds cool. I fear that the instrumentals will seem fillerish to me though. Spoken word is cool though and if there's lots of storytelling I'll probably enjoy it.
Colton Campbell
Shet you actually did it in one sitting. That's pretty fantastic honestly. I'll have to give it a try sometime but probably don't have the dedication or time to do it in one sitting. Props to you for that, man.
Nathaniel Jenkins
Yea you just have to find a day to dedicate to it and say "I'm going to do this"
Hard to stop once you're a disc in at least.
Lucas Murphy
I haven't even dedicated 6 hours to watching Satantango yet so I can't quite say I'm ready to give 10 discs of absolute avant-memery a full listen in one sitting. There may come a time one day when I can confidently say I'm prepared for it, but at the moment I find myself unable to consider that statement true. Someday, it'll happen. Someday.
Joshua Perry
>if there's lots of storytelling I'll probably enjoy it. You'll enjoy it The instrumentals don't overstay their welcome, either. There is a 10 minute one, but it's my favorite of both discs
Landon Garcia
>10 minute one Okay, that sounds like it'll be great. Looking forward to the 2nd disc. Will also write about it when I give it a spin.
Ayden Campbell
Saw Blixa Bargeld & Teho Teardo yesterday. It was pretty rad
Adrian Murphy
>namefags
Parker Morris
What a waste of time.
Benjamin Stewart
I know man! This whole going through classics things is a pretty easy way to find good shit.
madman. This is something I wanted to hear for a long time, but I won't do it in a single sitting.
Josiah Bell
Back from the gotic pogo party Let's do a listenalong we'll hear The Avalanches in plug in 1 hour!
Henry Morales
How is listening to a compilation a waste of time? I doubt you would have said that if i listened to 11 hours worth of separate releases.
Xavier Turner
I'm droning Hampus and he literally only likes compilations. This is probably about the music itself.
James Davis
Listening to compilations in one sitting isn't a waste of time. Sitting down listening to 10 CDs of shitty avant-meme in one sitting because le avant is a waste of time.
Ryder Perry
I didn't listen to them because of that. I listened to them because I don't know anything about onkyo and thought it could introduce me to some cool artists, and it did.
If I was going to listen to it solely for rym cred I would have just lied about listening to it and not done it.
Benjamin Sanders
You listened to it for Cred Forums cred, that's why it's so important for you that you listened in one sitting, which you had to tell everyone.
Ryan Watson
ok hampus, you got me
I spent 11 fucking hours listening to a complication because I wanted to get recognized on a website that I don't even use anymore
Do you realize how stupid that sounds?
Also besides that, you realize what thread you're in right now? It's the daily music thread where you tell everyone what music you listened to that day. Is everyone else also listening to music for mu cred or only me?
Dominic Parker
>Is everyone else also listening to music for mu cred or only me? Dunno, is everyone else listening to 11 hour long compilations in one sitting? There's literally no point in doing so.
Luis Perez
I did it for my own pleasure. It's an experience I haven't had before and I didn't want to judge anyone before doing it myself.
I think the experience would have been much different if I listened to it cd by cd.
Christopher Richardson
Personally, I just think that listening to a 11 hours comp in one sitting just doesn't allow you to get what you are listening. I couldn't care less about the attention-whoring drama.
Oh, and EAI is generally shit so why would you do that?
Carter Miller
>I did it for my own pleasure "finally done"
Yeah, I'm sure you enjoyed it so much, and didn't want to take any breaks, and could absolutely stay focused to appreciate it all the way through.
Blake Ramirez
>EAI is generally shit Even if this were true, how would I know the comp would be generally shit without hearing it?
And I disagree with your first point. Unless you aren't paying attention it shouldn't be a problem at all.
Jack Young
Staying focused for 11 hours straight on the same thing seems quite the hard task. I don't know how did you face the issue tho so I really don't mind.
Jaxson Bennett
>Johnny Winter - Second Winter A nice variety of ideas is present here. It's pretty fun too. The production is pretty weak though, no real punch or weight to it so that pulls it all down a bit.
But it is fun and the guitar playing is good I guess. I don't think many people would doubt Mr. Winter in that regard.
As far as blues rock goes, it delivers crunchy riffage with fun sorta rhythms and such and whatnot. Recommended for dadrockers everywhere.
But yeah. Beyond the respect I have for Winter's playing (some great solos here), the only track that really grabs me is the closer. "Fast Life Rider", Second Winter's final track, is a 7-minute blues rock wah-wah guitar party backed by an unflinching military drum line. That is a quite unique track very much worth checking out.
The rest? Well, it's blues rock. You know the genre.
Rating: That awkward kind of enjoying it but also somewhat ambiguous to the point of being slightly awkward face from the cover of Edgar Winter's First Winter / 10
"I'm so glad I'm finally done building this desk, so much work but I had fun and learned a lot while doing it"
"Finally done watching all of the top 250 movies on imbd, it took a while but it was definitely worth it and I found some awesome movies that I love!"
I didn't want to take any breaks because of how captivating the music was.
I never said I stayed 100% focused all throughout and it would be a lie if I did.
Hudson Sullivan
>I never said I stayed 100% focused all throughout and it would be a lie if I did. So don't sit for 11 hours listening to crap like a retard. If listening to music is a chore you want to have done, you're an idiot. If the music was so captivating and you had fun with it, you wouldn't feel like you were finally done, you'd rather just want more.
Go fuck yourself you pretentious little shit :^)
Julian White
It is a hard task which is why it was a good experience. It was an 11 hour ride of aural stimulation.
It's also not like all the music was the same, there were a ton of genres and styles represented. If you're fine with something like Touch Food, you can do Improvised Music.
Gabriel Thompson
>Go fuck yourself you pretentious little shit :^) I'm happy you got straight to the point, not sure why you didn't lead with this.
"I'm so glad I'm finally done building this desk, so much work but I had fun and learned a lot while doing it"
"Finally done watching all of the top 250 movies on imbd, it took a while but it was definitely worth it and I found some awesome movies that I love!"
Why do you have to get so buttmad about how I spend my time? How is this conversation NOT a waste of time to you? I want to know what you get out of it.
Elijah Jenkins
I'm not buttmad, I'm actually greatly entertained by your pretentious little shitface being super defensive when called out on how you listen to music because you think it will make people think you're cool (there really is NO other reason to listen to 11 hours of onkyo in one sitting). I find it hilarious. If it weren't for how long you've been acting like this, I'd think you were putting on a comedic persona.
Gabriel Garcia
>I'm not buttmad haha ok
>11 hours of onkyo It's not 11 hours of onkyo though, this shows me that you don't actually know what you're talking about.
>If it weren't for how long you've been acting like this, I'd think you were putting on a comedic persona. Not sure what the point of this sentence is.
Anyways, I'm still not sure what you're getting out of this conversation. Does it get you off? Do you think that I need to be pushed off a pedestal? Do you want to lower my self esteem? (haha, good luck with that btw I don't think it can go lower)
It's kind of flattering though that whenever I make an appearance on this board you're just waiting for me to do something out of the ordinary to call me out on it. Do you have a crush on me hampus?
Anthony Murphy
>tfw a mealkiddo joins an argument between 2 big boys
Evan Hernandez
>Does it get you off? Yep.
>It's kind of flattering though that whenever I make an appearance on this board you're just waiting for me to do something out of the ordinary to call me out on it. Do you have a crush on me hampus? You know I've barely even posted for like three months, only the last few days. Coincidence that you're here. I guess the reason I respond to you every time I see you post is because every single one of your posts contains something equally pants on head retarded and pretentious? Just a guess.
So how do you actually justify sitting through 11 hours, when you seem to consider listening to music a chore that needs to be done with? How do you justify almost half your post is about how you did it in one sitting and not about the music?
Caleb Price
>when you seem to consider listening to music a chore that needs to be done with?
I dont believe this, please refer to these analogies and think about how they are different (hint: they aren't)
"I'm so glad I'm finally done building this desk, so much work but I had fun and learned a lot while doing it"
"Finally done watching all of the top 250 movies on imbd, it took a while but it was definitely worth it and I found some awesome movies that I love!"
My post didn't talk about the music because it wasn't a review
I'll leave you with those thoughts because I have to leave for brunch in about 30 minutes
I'm glad we could have this conversation hampus, good bye ;^)
Easton Cook
>"I'm so glad I'm finally done building this desk, so much work but I had fun and learned a lot while doing it" No one who enjoys woodworking would say "I'm glad I'm finally done".
>"Finally done watching all of the top 250 movies on imbd, it took a while but it was definitely worth it and I found some awesome movies that I love!" This is literally analogous with the chore. Watching 250 movies was a chore that needed to be done to find a few good ones. No one would sit through those 250 movies in a row, since it's a chore.
Alexander Gonzalez
>No one who enjoys woodworking would say "I'm glad I'm finally done". lol but they would!
Parker Perry
Nah, because the goal of doing something you like isn't finishing the product, it's the journey there. Someone who enjoys wood working would say "This was a lot of fun to make, I'm looking forward to the next one". Not "wew, glad I finally finished this shit so I can do something I actually enjoy :^)"
Christian Fisher
but thats not what aqam said either, is it?
Connor Cruz
"finally done" is all that needs to be said, Aqam.
Luke Wilson
>Nah, because the goal of doing something you like isn't finishing the product This is actually a true fact
Engineers HATE seeing the plane they worked on be finished
Painters HATE completing their paintings
Marketers HATE being successful
Sculpters HATE seeing their sculptures be finished
Film directors HATE seeing their movie be completed
Gabriel Thompson
>the goal of doing something you like isn't finishing the product, it's the journey there. w h a t
William Edwards
Literally all of these are projects, listening to music is not. Huge difference. But yeah, those same people wouldn't go "finally done" unless it was a chore doing it.
If you think listening to music is a project and your reward is having listened to 11 hours of music, you're doing it wrong.
Joshua Jenkins
>your reward is having listened to 11 hours of music The reward is having listened to it, having fun, and having gained an understanding of the release
Jacob Torres
Sup /meme/!
Last day at home! Got a haircut and it looks terrible.
Also bought my mom a Hilary Hahn boxset, she is happy about it.
What are you up to /daily/?
Jacob Fisher
Jeez, are you people literally retarded?
>having listened to it Music listening is not a project. Get over yourselves and listen to music you enjoy.
Connor Ross
>gained an understanding of the release pfft
Dylan Brooks
I unironically love listening to Japanese free improvisational music
Jack Allen
man, this legit
Asher Young
You're ugly anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much.

shave yo fuckin head man, get real deep into Grime, start wearing Man U jackets and rain slickers on the reg
The Muffins - Manna / Mirage (1978) >avant-prog, canterbury scene
An american take on canterbury scene mixed with Zappa's wackiness, and it's done a lot better than I just made it sound. Like most prog albums, the musicianship is fucking incredible, the guitar work, the blaring horns, the fast-paced drumming, it's all done incredibly and all the pieces fit together. Also like most prog albums, it gets a bit too over-ambitious for it's own good. The last two tracks clock in at about 16 and 23 minutes each, and they have some elements and segments that really serve no purpose, like the intro to "Amelia Earhart", and some more subdued segments in the middle of "The Adventures of Captain Boomerang (For Mike Forrester)", despite the fact that the latter track ends spectacularly. The first two tracks are damn-near perfect however, the jazzy, heavy "Hobart Got Burned", especially. If you like prog in any way, this is pretty damn awesome.

Yo, just read the top post of all time on r/diy on reddit. I was prepared to at least search through three or four posts there to disprove >No one who enjoys woodworking would say "I'm glad I'm finally done". and >Nah, because the goal of doing something you like isn't finishing the product, it's the journey there. but literally the first post already had
hampus wtf, why you lying
Charles Edwards
i think the point of the argument was that lolsoavant = shit, everything else was half-hearted
Ryder Lewis
hampus ran away from this conversation a while ago once he realized his argument made no fucking sense
