Brown Eyes and I were tired
We had walked and we had scrambled
Through the moors and through the briars
Through the endless blue meanders
In the blue August moon
In the cool August moon

Over the nights and through the fires
We went surging down the wires
Through the towns and on the highways
Through the storms in all their thundering
In the blue August moon
In the cool August moon

Well we rested in a desert
Where the bones were white as teeth, sir
And we saw St. Elmo's Fire
Splitting ions in the ether
In the blue August moon
In the cool August moon

well shit
post-Nick Cave hangover?

Yeah, these threads are usually dead as fuck after a big release. Plus, it's Friday night

what's everyone listening to? pic related, pretending i'm at a party ;_;

>nick cave
>big release
>big
lmao. the 100+ reply thread on nick cave day was literally just a handful of memers rolling for dubs.

There were long lasting discussion threads for that album for days after it leaked. The p4k thread for it mayve been shit I'd still say it's a major release

Friend just brought me a ton of beer
theamericaninstituteofsonoricalresearch.bandcamp.com/releases

i'll cum into my own mouth if it breaks the billboard top 10.

Dead Sara - Pleasure To Meet You 8.3 BNM

The new Beware of Darkness is fucking awesome.

is it the same friend who lends you his car? have you even talked to any girls this year, shill?

>breaks the billboard top 10
it was a big release for people who are "into music," not the mainstream plebs at large. relatively speaking, the vast majority of people haven't heard of like 90% of the artists Pitchfork covers except for the megastars like Beyonce, Kanye, Kendrick, etc.

>8.9 BNM

lel

Seth Colter Walls is a legit pitchfork patrician, and cute as heck too

a 8.9 BNM for a 1974 recording from a gay black artist, and it's not even the feature review. it's second to Mac FUCKIN' Miller, a white """"rapper""""

WHAT ABOUT THE AGENDA, PITCHFORK?

Who is Julius Eastman?

post pic, seth. are you black?

who the fuck is that 8.9 BNM nigger

NIGHTLY RUNDOWN
Mac Miller 7.8
Julius Eastman 8.9 BNM
Bryce Dessner / Aaron Dessner 7.0
DJ Fresh/ Ezale 7.4

>Mac Miller 7.8

ok fuck this. i'm officially done with pitchfork. it's been a good 11 years. so long.

>heralds the powerful voice of the black, queer artist

wow i wonder why p4k likes him

but damn, still didn't expect that score, or that acknowledgement of Juilius Eastman at all. Unjust Malaise has been a favourite of avant teens forever, this must be crushing to them

Since when have Friday Night reviews become a thing

You guys don't know about Eastman?
Go get Unjust Malaise

Is there any sort of sandwich dubs?

since April, iirc

you'll be back

genre?

Is this the first time anytime has gotten BNM and not been the lead review? I know they do it for BNR but don't think I've ever seen it like.

Sam Westing

hoo?

i mean its basically a BNR

then why did it get BNM? redpill me on this release.

i just meant that its from 1974, so not "new" music. But it was never released in the first place so also not a reissue. Ive never seen them do this but i guess its a one-off situation.

Plus Mac Miller will get them way more page hits.

>tfw you die homeless & alone, then get a BNM on pitchfork 26 years later.

Frozen Reeds is a GOAT label

The Thomas Brinkmann they put out this year is great too

such a sad story :(

hate that he's become so associated with so-called "avant-teens" as there's a palpable volatility and fragility to his work

8.9 is such a high score, they've been super generous this year it's almost shocking.

I mean, we've, we've got almost 5-6 9.0's? And Bon Iver and Danny Brown are yet to cash in their big fat juicy 8.5+ scores.

oh, and DUBS decides which 9.0 gets the "Deafheaven- New Bermuda" treatment (Left in the 20s on the end of year list)
