When I first heard this I was convinced that it was the best and heaviest things of the 70:s. But really, comparing it to all the other great 70s bands like Hawkwind/Motörhead, Wishbone Ash, King Crimson, Flower Travellin Band, MC5, Deep Purple, Mahavishnu Orchestra, UFO, or less well-known stuff like Iron Lung or Jerusalem, I'm starting to feel like it's... overrated? Not bad by any means, but definitely not worth putting above all the other 70s bands, in neither quality or heaviness.

It's rated so highly because it's arguably among the first of its kind. If Black Sabbath formed in the 70s or early 80s with other metal bands, they wouldn't really be as renowned as they are.
