Somebody tell me how this recording makes them feel and why it deserves such praise

didn't you read?

>black
>queer

I knew Cred Forums was racist and homophobic but wow.

No.
Just listen to it.

No, i rather find out why people like it so much for reference and then listen to it.

This is great

youtube.com/watch?v=prfD5o9d-aI

I like it for the way it sounds.

t. avant-teen

>it's a generic minimalism piece that's highly rated because muh oppression

That gives me no reference, use your words next time.

Pitchfork drones, everybody.

I think it's great because it heralds the powerful voice of the black, queer artist. It's a marvel of open-form minimalism.

Now listen to it.

pretty original analysis, really made me think

Da fuck when did p4k rate minimalism

Yes that's what the piece intends you to do.

Have you listened to it yet?

Pitchfork devalues music by black, queer people when it has to bring up the blackness and queerness as a sort of tokenistic statement. Just talk about the music and maybe give some words about the minority-ness of the record rather than putting it up on the header you fucking gimps.

That's not me, and no, you have failed to interest me into listening to it

>it's good because it's good and made by a nigger faggot
totally not a p4k drone

You literally fucking copy-pasted p4k

better than not listening to an album because pitchfork likes it

>That's not me
I didn't day it wasn't.
>you have failed to interest me into listening to it
Ooops I mean it's great because it heralds the powerful voice of the white, straight artist

I bet you are interested now.

HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE MUSIC BIZ
Hard mode
>be a straight, white male
Medium
>be a straight, white female
Easy
>be a black man or woman
>be queer
Guaranteed Success Mode
>be queer, black, and female

>totally not a p4k drone
Correct, I don't read pitchfork

Did you listen to it yet, or did you dismiss it because the color and sexual orientation of the artist?

No, are you missing a chromosome or something? This bait is awful.

You literally copy and pasted pitchfork's review into holy fucking shit dude

>>be a black man or woman
>>be queer
Ever heard an interview with MC Ride?

He sounds gay as fuck. Isn't his real name "Stefan"? lol

mods, I work at pitchfork, please delete this post right now.

I didn't. As I said, I don't read pitchfork.

Are you projecting now? This isn't about me. This is about you choosing not to listen to something because of certain reasons. What are those?

(You)

how many successful gay black female artists do you know? they should be all over the place according to you

So you can bandwagon off their opinion instead of forming your own?

>100 point review scale
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>hear about the name because of a review
>dont read it and listen to the album
>its actually pretty good
>"you only like it because pitchfork and he is gay and black"

you got me, thanks for setting me on the right path since I can't even trust my own judgement

Young thug, frank ocean, kanye west

>female
>gay

0/3 try again

they bi

Not every fucking work by a black or queer person has to be defined by their "Otherness".

If people started searching for gay liberation undertones in the shit I made I'd be pretty weirded out.

And it's only ever your orientation or skin color. Nobody reviews Carly Rae Jepsen like going to the store is a metaphor for breaking free of the patriarchy.

I'd search you for gay liberation bb

>US black population
>like 14%
>Prominence of black artists on MTV, on hipster sites such as p4k
>like 80%

Why doesn't any body complain that #MusicSoBlack?

rap is the new hip thing and there's lotta black rappers

reference gives me something to watch out for. Music (and especially classical music) is something that requires a lot of analyzing, getting a head start is not a bad thing.

they have a large music presence and you are heavily exaggerating

Well we already explained it to you. You going to listen now?

You didn't explain anything to me, i don't have anything to look out for. I think you're just a shit writer who can't explain what he likes so much about the piece.

Is there a score to follow? It's hard to analyze without a score unless you're really good at aural skills.

>"please explain it to me"
>I explain it to you
>"no you didn't explain it to me!"
Just admit you have no intentions to listen in the first place because it's not a straight white male artist

I feel like i have better aural skills, but there's no score that i know of.

>muh classical music

why the posturing, it's an anonymous board, no one gives a fuck

Yeah, this is bait, bye-bye.

Then there's no reason to not do the damn analysis yourself.

Ooops you meant to quote Sorry about that!

>has to put "queer black artist" in the synopsis or else nobody would care

seems it's working

art music is yucky and no one wants to hear it

>making fun of it and not listening
>""""Caring"""""

Not even close to 80% lol, more like 30% max. This is because black people live in urban areas thus have more access to music resources than rural whites. Also rural whites are usually inbred idiots. So that makes the population of black people in terms of ppl who care about music much more significant than the percentage of Americans population being black

>ignores music because of artists race and sexual preference

sorry sorry I care I love Kanye ah yes bbc
it's just art music is an old white ppl thing so it's yucko but this 1 good

>getting into an autistic shitfit
>not caring
pick one

This is pretty cool. I think I'll check out the one in OP's pic.

>tfw ordered this cd 3 weeks ago
>blissing out to it every night since
>now have to deal with p4k bandwagon jumpers
why even live?

just HAD to throw in black and queer

>everybody getting this mad over the fact that someone was black
jesus christ

we all know memefork gives meme ratings to artist just cause they're black and gay
>inb4 ur a racist white straight male

gay italian

>inb4 italians are white

;]

eastman was memed on this board last year

pick something new faggots

How does it make (You) feel

i'm everything of what you said

>pianist that heralds the powerful voice of the black, queer artist.
No other line has made me NOT want to listen to an album this much before.

xD epic post bro

xD epic shitpost bro

Why did a recording from 1974 get a BNM and not a BNR?

They've never done this before, even if it's completely unreleased material.

Because it was never "issued" in the first place.

>black & queer
>not even 9.0
SHAME

Like I said, they've literally never done that before.

Van Morrison's It's Too Late to Stop Now Vol. II, III, & IV was all unreleased live recordings, Terry Reid's The Other Side of the River was all unreleased outtakes, and Bill Evans' Some Other Time was literally a shelved album that was never released until now.

All of those (and others of similar circumstances) received BNRs. An old, unreleased recording has never gotten a BNM before.

DELETE

It's a very beautiful piece, tb h.

autism

Eastman wasn't successful at all though. He died alone, destitute, and homeless.

I hate how black pop musicians think they can feign intelligence by referencing high art. It's so transparent and insecure

Protip: being aware of art that's superior to that which you make doesn't elevate your trash in the slightest.

i haven't listened to this one but Unjust Malaise is a masterwork. If this is on par to it or similar then i guess it has that Eastman touch that from the repetition manages to make deeply moving and dramatical pieces

i never agree with p4k but dude lemme tell you julius eastman was a goddam genius

Does anyone have a working dl link for Unjust Malaise?
All the ones in the archive are dead

slsk

I forgot how much being black and queer increases one's musical talent.
