There are 3 main ways to "steal":

Intuition means primarily using internal structures you already have to attempt to replicate and unravel whatever you're interested in. It's reliant on what you are and have already, and the fruit it yields naturally follows that.

I see it as looking at everything and anything as fields to harvest from. One plays the role of a harvester, whether you're finding ways to see and branch from contrast, or ways to spur it to show itself. A lot to be said about that whole metacognitive process, and the machinery of the mind. I sort of "lived" in a harvester-like mindset for a lot of my life. That's what all of my interactions with my environment and other people were about. I of course had and made my own stuff, and to a great extent was very rigid and stubborn, but anyway. I had to move away from it. My two cents.

At that point you might as well be asking "why do anything". Why listen to music, why learn. Why keep yourself alive, and why kill yourself.

I just want to know if they know their why or are willing to reveal it. Yet to find one artist who does this consistently because there is more recognition in not revealing anything substantial that would covert someone from a follower into a leader.

In my case, it's mainly for the utility of novel ideas and mind expansion. It satisfies a drive affords the ability to be a more viable organism, be capable of things, and thus have a lower probability of feeling like shit because I'm receiving / not receiving stimuli that causes the machinery if my mind to shift into ranges that are experienced as unpleasant. Move much further into the low level stuff, and truths will quickly become self referential.

Creativity is also an outlet. I'm a fairly miserable person and have had a subpar time, generally. There is positive and negative in all frames, and most matters are dualistic, if not all. So at the core of most creative endeavors is something awful I've turned to use and maybe even given a sense of clarity, or beauty. I've gotten a lot from the creations of certain people whether I found it novel, interesting, relateable, whatever, and want to provide others something that can be similarly meaningful.

People like clarity, and the environment must serve as a proxy for self discovery. The core reasons are fairly simple and cluster heavily, but their high level representation varies by individual.

Beauty's job is make nicer, to conceal and distract away from chasing meaning/clarity in terms of truth. And what most people mean by inspiring self-discovery is to spread their current weaknesses like a disease, validating them in others while the preacher is released from them by the act of preaching.
