the insane amount of density of noise makes it sound like something completely foreign. once you're able to move past the layers of noise you hear all of these insane melodic textures, and after that you finally realize that they're just regular pop songs. theres enough depth to never get bored

i said insane twice but kevin shields is a madman for figuring out how to make something like that, and still not be surpassed

from the beggining they were making psychedelic rock/space rock, not shoegaze man. their first album can be also included to britpop anyway.
