Low, and that's why.

Ziggy Stardust, and that's why.

Guys I can't stop listening to the title track on Station to Station

Its ok if you enjoy it

definitely blackstar

a deathbed album, all planned out, synchronised with his actual death
an apparent self-sacrifice at the altar of the album chart

i doubt anyone will top that
unless you go full stockhausen and start including shit like 911

IT'S NOT THE SIDE-EFFECTS OF THE COCAINE

THE RETUUUURN OF THE THIN WHITE DUKE

It was synchronised with his actual death accidentally, he didn't plan to make this album his swan song since he wanted to make another album.
If he was still alive, this album wouldn't be as dramatic as it is.
He's kinda lucky to die just after release of Blackstar, so people like you can say this:
>i doubt anyone will top that

>he didn't plan to make this album his swan song since he wanted to make another album.

seems like he did to me, from the lyrics and all

although now his label are trying to milk it even more by releasing his off-cuts are pretending he almost made another album, yeah ok, what a fucking waste though

>seems like he did to me, from the lyrics and all

He didn't planned, he though the cancer was regressing and contacted Visconti on doing more stuff since he then would have some more months of life

ah ok, a bit murky

i think he originally planned to go out on blackstar, maybe had last minute jitters

>He didn't planned
>Visconti says that Bowie actually planned to make one more album
are you ok?

>rejected songs

unorignal

>"He made Blackstar for us, his parting gift. I knew for a year this was the way it would be."

>In the last few weeks of his life, he wrote and recorded demo versions of five new songs, and just a week before his death, he called Visconti via FaceTime to discuss recording a new LP. “At that late stage, he was planning the follow-up to Blackstar, and I was thrilled,” Visconti says. “And I thought, and he thought, that he’d have a few months, at least. Obviously, if he’s excited about doing his next album, he must’ve thought he had a few more months.”

Blackstar was meant to be his last album, he only changed his mind in the last weeks of life and started recording demos because he though he was surviving a lot more time. My point still stands.

The Width of a Circle.

What you think of Lodger and Young Americans?

not a whole lot desu, but my interest in him is from an art point of view rather than music
imho he was a master of spectacle, and a reasonably good songwriter

not prolonging his unavoidable death

He was a great performer and a great songwriter.

Am I the only one who thinks Lazarus was one of his best tracks ever?

Sweet Thing>Candidate>Sweet Thing (Reprise)

This. Every track is flawless.

senpai

Fucking kill yourself

The albatross above everything else he has ever recorded

I'm with you

i found the beginning melody awfully familiar to Wild Beasts Albatross.

...

this is pretty accurate

Let's Dance, his most popular USA song. He proved how shallow we all are.
