Is that honest? I heard it only once but it seemed waaaay too pretentious, trying to create a huge sci-fi epic and it didn't work for me at all. It was so exhausting to sit through all of that runtime.

I think I have a bias against sci-fi too. I didn't like the new Clipping at all, and I loved CLPPNG.

I think this new Nick Cave album or Blackstar takes AOTY for me. Or maybe Kanye's TLOP, ive listened to it an embarrassing amount of times this year.

Agreed. Dälek's return seems to have been completely ignored. It's so tragic because I think it's their best album since Absence.

It's sad because experimental hip hop is now becoming so big with the rise of clipping. and Death Grips, but the originals are getting ignored

at least Guaranteed Struggle is a little better at least in that they're playing to his weakness. If he's gonna be this monotone then might as well go full subdued. Rhymes were still pretty weak though.

Is tone criticized in hip hop? I've never heard someone make that observation. He is rather monotone, but so are many other rappers. Even then I still like his delivery. I guess just stick to shoegaze...

I guess Dälek just isn't as marketable as clipping. or Death Grips. They've never been given that much attention. It's unfortunate as I think they have to be at least somewhat of an inspiration to these bigger artists.
