Noise Rock

I'm trying to get more into noise rock because I recently decided it's the one genre I consistently enjoy. So far I only have Jay Reatard, Wavves, Ty Seagall, Thee oh sees, and white fence in my playlist. any suggestions? Also up for lo-Fi with a similar sound/attitude

The Mint Chicks

JESUS LIZARD

Noise rock is one of my favorite genres OP! My Bloody Valentine is my favorite band in the genre :D. My mom says it's just a bunch of :D noise, but it's actually got lots of pretty melodies :3 ;3.

It's also incredibly lo-fi. I had to give it like 10 listens before I could really pick it apart lol. :D

JAZZUS LIZARD

Also Ween, Melt-banana, and Gerogerigegege

>noise rock
>Jay Reatard, Wavves, Ty Seagall, Thee oh sees, and white fence

I'd call Jay and Ty punk and I'd call Wavves noise pop but what the fuck do I know about genres.

Japanther, Nobunny, Tacocat, The Lemons, Peach Kelli Pop, The Monsieurs, The Traditional Fools, No Parents, Slutever, The Frights, Davila 666, Carbonas, Bass Drum of Death, Night Birds, Together Pangea, Low Culture maybe

Only time I see a mu thread where I've heard of all the music.

Dinosaur Jr

Arab on Radar

...

None of them are really Noise Rock, more current-wave Garage Rock. Maybe the Black Lips are something you'd like.

>Jay Reatard, Wavves, Ty Seagall, Thee oh sees

None of these are noise rock dude. Listen to some Jesus Lizard or Big Black (actual noise rock) before you decide you want to get into it

youtube.com/watch?v=53F5nY68cBM

but you're probably talking about noise pop. you may like this more youtube.com/watch?v=WCtPz-guwO8

Running - Wake Up Applauding
METZ - METZ
The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat
Big Black - Atomizer

First two are modern, similar to what you already like. Other two are classics in the genre.

Balkans, Meatbodies, Together Pangea, Yuppies, Hum, The Men, Moon Duo, Teenage Fanclub, Eagulls, Cloud Nothings

first couple bands are burger records type shit and from Hum onward are a bit different but still garage rock

but yeah as said before in the thread none of the stuff you posted is really noise rock but I hope you like some of these bands

First time I've ever seen No Parents mentioned on Cred Forums

They're great

hey hey listen to this, eff everything else in this thread. this is major.

bump

Listen to this guy
Also, Lightning Bolt

very noisy very rocky, steve albini production so the drums sound great and the bass is fuzzy, and there's an angry welshman yelling over the top of everything
sheer 10/10

Not sure if this counts as noise rock, but A Place to Bury Strangers is pretty goddamn noisy

is this bait?

Hella

you must listen to every band that steve albini has played in

this is an order!!

>"he's into a specific music genre and is asking for recs so he must be baiting"

But none of those bands are noise rock

>implying waves is noiserock

it's pop punk

i was just at a frights concert. they were amazing live.

I got way into Pink and Brown a few months ago if that fits the bill.

...

none of those are noise rock nigguh
those are just shitty indie rock

go listen to black eyes, mi ami, u.s. maple, laddio bolocko, gordons, girl band, duotron, arab on radar, guerilla toss n the list goes on ;)

Brainbombs

pissed jeans is the best noise rock band now and their shows are just insane

stand in the first row and just look at matt korvette the whole time

youtube.com/watch?v=bdgxsyWfAT4

I'd say Daughters is one of the best now. Glad that they're back and also looking forward to new material

Weezer

Lightning bolt, melt banana, yellow swans, and big black are all great.

Anything with Nick Sakes' name on it.

I don't have any new recommendations but damn Wavvves is one of my favorite albums of all time.
Nothing beats those crunchy lofi guitars.

...

What is the general consensus on Wavves?

This is fucking great.

I am a big Wavves fan, go check out Dinosaur Jr, you will hear the influence they had on Wavves
