Which genre?
I'm not original poster, but I'm also interested in good German bands. No metal, hip-hop or lo-fi, please.
Neutral Milch Concentration Camp
Well, I am pretty open minded.
I can't tell you which genres I dont like so much, since it easier -
I am not that big of a fan of most forms of electronic music (sorry if there is other way to call them), this being dubstep, house, techno, etc. . I don't really like most pop music and I have a love/hate relationship with rap
Oh, and I would stay away from any geners of extreme metal currently, since the goal for me is to actually understand the lyrics
Der Blutharsch, Darkwood, Sturmpercht, Allerseelen
CAN

N
DIE PRINZEN
Interested in Hippie Folk Rock?
Hoelderlin or Ougenweide should do it for you.
einstürzende neubauten, genocide organ, neu!, pantha du prince, cluster
I'm going to say KMFDM but I know Cred Forums is going to call me an edgy teenage faggot
Artists who have been involved or worked with Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Kraftwerk, Amon Duul II, Neu, Can, Popol Vuh, Ash Ra Tempel etc are usually interesting
Then you'll make the connections
Examples are the artists in
discogs.com
discogs.com
Tocotronic and Ton Steine Scherben are my fave German rock bands, also try Blumentopf, Absolute Beginner and Freundeskreis for hip hop if ur into that
CAN, Faust, Einstürzende Neubauten, Popol Vuh, Kraftwerk, Nico, Cluster, the list goes on.
Best band ever.

It does go on though, what do you mean by that?

schaufel und spaten!
Recommend some more German prog, krautrock and experimental bands. All of those are mentioned on Cred Forums quite regularly.
>caring what the Cred Forums hivemind thinks about a band
that being said, kmfdm's uaioe is p good.
Eloy, Neu!, Klaus Schulze (check out Irrlitch for that delicious Ambient Drone), Rangerine Dream, Michael Hoenig, Deuter, Amon Duul II, Technical Space Composer's Crew, La Düsseldorf, the list goes on.
The Notwist
there's great german emo
youtube.com
youtube.com
especially this band, almost all of their records are worth listening to
youtube.com
oh yes I love the notwist, pic related is my favourite by them
Outta my way plebs
Have you ever listened to Reiziger? Good German post-hardcore act
HP is very shy in real life it's really cute
disappointing taste in german music for a german. but still much better than most german music threads here
check out 187 strassenbande, they're probably the most influential german collective at the moment, only their last album was kinda weak
It's not a list of "my taste in German music" though. It's a list of artists that actually use the German language. There are plenty of great German artist that sing in English or don't have lyrics at all. Especially in the genres Germany actually excels in like Krautrock and various Electronic ones.
didn't know them
really enjoying this right now
youtube.com
reminds me of Karate a lot, I like those guitars and the lo-fi feel

Is germany the most pleb nation on this board?
kraftklub is also top tier
Germany, Russia & Sweden share the title of nation with the biggest percentage of cringeworthy scum on the internet from my experience.
