I'd appreciate suggestions, since clearly my taste is shit and I don't know enough albums to fill it up. I'd like to avoid metal of any sort, because that's low-hanging fruit when it comes to doomsday music

I like the idea
Put Tago Mago and Radioaktivität in Nuclear Armageddon

nuclear armageddon

Kid A in Dystopia

dystopia/societal collapse

Kid A and HTTT are valid substitutes as well

EoE should be listed on there regardless of it being the theme of the chart

Kid A in dystopia or Ice age
Far Side Virtual and OK computer in Societal collapse

Ice age

Rapture: Have a Nice Life - Deathconsciousness

>cosmic horror

This one for nuclear armageddon
Some Thomas Konner for ice age

>aliens

Rec for Dystopia

discogs.com/No-Artist-If-The-Bomb-Falls-A-Recorded-Guide-For-Survival/release/1285291

This for nuclear

we should add a "voluntary self-destruction" category

Progress so far. To-do list is extending the length of the black bars and maybe changing/removing the bottom category because I can't think of anything for it.

Roger Waters - Radio Kaos
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut

Put a pandemic category in it

Rudimentary Peni - Cacophany for Cosmic Horror

You should also add a category for AI Takeover and Pandemic

cosmic horror

This makes sense.

Dystopia

I really hope we don't all die by being driven mad by a cosmic elder being. That would really suck.

Ice Age

Rapture maybe?

i don't know which one though

Deathconsciousness should def go in cosmic horror

Dystopia

rapture/third impact

Definitely replace Kid A with this, the themes are way stronger in Amnesiac

>AI Takeover
I like that
This one is an album with machines playing guitars

>when asks for recs on an interesting chart idea, then proceeds to fill it with Cred Forumscore

THIS

For the alien thing

Happens way too often
I hope OP filters some stuff out

dalek - Untitled
>societal collapse

Dystopia

op you need to completely start over

Dopethrone for Nuclear Armageddon.

Rapture / Third Impact

Added a Pandemic category. don't let it starve to death

I'm feelin more nuclear armageddon

I try to make everyone happy.

Rapture / Third Impact
Neofolk is great for that.

Meteor, or getting swallowed by a black hole

rapture

Also, let me know if you want stuff to be removed or replaced, especially the albums I started out with.

this, easily, for cosmic horror

Seconding

For Rapture

>I try to make everyone happy.
You're literally ignoring all albums that are not mucore tho
We already have hundreds of mucore lists

i think your rapture category needs a total redo

Darkspace - Darkspace III for cosmic horror

/r/ remove the End of Evangelion OST, it's literally the most obvious choice and takes the place of actual interesting albums that could be there

>dystopia
To round out the Orwellian albums, Animals by Pink Floyd
>nuclear armageddon
The Final Cut, Pink Floyd

this
i can kinda understand 666 but the rest really doesnt fit
also take out the "third impact" part
it should purely be angelical

Societal collapse

Red and 666 fit, the others, eh.

Through Silver In Blood for Nukes.

maybe rapture?

Radiohead? Give me a fucking break

Pandemic

Dystopia

Far Side Virtual should be dystopia 2bh fambruh.

Nucler Armaggeddon

Doens't fit.

i think this would be bretty good for rapture desu

Cosmic Horror

>GOOOOOOD IS DEAD, AND NOOOOO ONE CARES
rapture my ass

No AI-related apocalypse? Imagine if we became the little bitches of a superintelligent machine, that'd be terrifying.

Seconding this

Nucklear Armageddon/Meteor

Nuclear Armageddon

also for the same category:
>Sun Ra - Nuclear War

where is op???/

hope we didnt stress him/her out too much

I don't know.

>Red and 666
Fits

Fits.

"No"

societal collapse

Nuclear apocalypse

Can't really see it fitting, but ok

>him/her
>/her
>newfags don't know about the "No Girls on The Internet" rule
>newfags don't even know the meaning of the "No Girls on The Internet" rule

societal collapse

Wouldn't Punk be more fitting for societal collapse

>unironically saying "newfag"

OP, please move this to Pandemic

Discharge is a very political band and often dealt with nukes in their lyrics.

cosmic horror

(mesarthim - isolate)

rapture is fucked. I removed pandemic because I didn't think we could fill it out, but if you have any suggestions for AI singularity/whatever I will add it

i'm making a second pass for recs I missed, this thread is going faster than I thought it would

i agree with adding a robot overlord category

also I'll do a higher res version when this thread is over and upload it somewhere

pandemic

add these
redo rapture

for Pandemic

Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital by Axis of Perdition

Yes, maybe dystopia, shouldn't ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars be on there?

Ice age / Social collapse

Dystopia, or AI/Robot Takeover if it gets added.

Swans - Holy Money for dystopia. I made one of these lists for myself once.

I second this greatly

op said to avoid metal because the themes permeate the genre

pandemic

nuclear

So are we not doing pandemic? How has no one menyioned this.

should have thought of this before i posted
fair enough reason

Is the apocalypse in Ziggy Stardust ever described? It seems like it would go under meteor

oh shit my bad boys. I guess pandemic wont work very well then

Seconding everything here

it's more like premonitions of the end time and how everyone deals with it.

And yes it would go under meteor.

Societal collapse

great, another autistic chart, something Cred Forums doesn't have enough

>contagious dementia
>Nico - The Desertshore

Dystopia

for cosmic horror

Nurse with Wound - Soliloquy for Lilith

Definitely needs to be in pandemic

I feel like one of these should go on here somewhere

societal collapse

could you add more options for each layer?

nurse with wound yesssss

this 4 dystopia

OP said to evitate metal

Dystopia my ass

How many of you faggots are merely trying to fit one of your favorite albums in yet another chart?

its literally about the fight against a secret society controlling the citizens of the future

stfu nerd

Uh I tried to add The Ascension on the chart and he forgot about it
That's it

"no"
Can we get this in Cosmic Horror?

...

well obviously we arent going to post albums that we think are shit

deafheaven is more apocalyptic than 90% of the stuff on there. No putting it on there causes its sort of "metal" (not even entirely metal) is stupid.

How can you forget Year Zero dude

For nuclear apocalypse

>deafheaven is more apocalyptic than 90% of the stuff on there.
incorrect

that album deals primarily with themes of loss and rejection and has very little to do with anything apocalyptic

just because it sounds that way doesn't mean it belongs

thou - heathen in societal collapse

deafheaven fucking sounds like the apocalypse, even if you're a pretentious asshole, or just flat out don't like it, you can't deny it.

Obey the quads

He said to evitate metal because the majority of the Metal albums deal with these themes
Also, it's barely apocalyptic

see

gtfo faget

There are two kinds of people in this thread

>chart is about X
>I wonder what album could work, maybe Y is appropriate, I'm going to suggest it

>man I really like Z, such a great album
>sees thread about X chart
>hey dude put Z in there it's totally relevant I swear

I feel fairly caught up, but feel free to tell me otherwise.

it's going on Rapture in the next iteration, I'm just slow

I think it's safe to say windows is societal collapse at its finest.

Ice Age

>deafheaven
>apocalyptic
?

sure maybe, but imo the ALBUM doesn't fit

we're free to disagree

go away

Pantha du Prince - The Triad
Ice age category

seconding this for dystopia

would you guys consider pre-reformation swans trilogy apocalyptic.

Add the album that user suggest and close that section
8 albums is enough.

>ice age
>no iceage

societal collapse

it's more localized than the end of the world, like one kid or family being stalked by a demon or something

you missed a few societal collapse suggests

Maybe this for rapture?

>vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/4chanmusic/images/1/1c/Suicide_chart.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160811184358

>fall from tall structure
>no coil albums

really?

>an empty bliss
>rapture
explain your reasoning

Gotta do it senpai

I know you said no metal, even though you have a metal album on there, but this needs to be under nuclear armageddon.

song titles
>"The great hidden sea of the unconscious"
= heaven
>"An empty bliss beyond this World"
= heaven

yeah that album is about spooky ghosts there's nothing about spiritual reverence or perdition or whatever

seconding this, that is so wrong.

RAPTURE
a concept album about the 4 horsemen

In Praise of Learning should be on societal collapse imo.

societal collapse

Alright
The three that are filled up are more or less closed, unless people agree that one of the picks is absolute dogshit

Tell me what to replace and I'll do it.

the first is a huge goddamn stretch, the album title is supposed to represent suicide.

ehhh final cut maybe?

>not a single female musician

but Cred Forums isn't biased right?

>ice age
>nothing from glacial movements
pls add or something from here user:
glacialmovements.bandcamp.com/music

suggest one then

I don't think we collectively agreed to not include them, the things people picked just happened to be like that
So what would you like to suggest, instead of playing victim?

this
switch an empty bliss with this

i'm just pointing out Cred Forums's collective unconscious bias towards male musicians

cosmic horror

you're not being helpful, also its not like the gender of the artists even matter.

for ice age

Or the fact that anything that's not radio friendly pop and rock is made majorly of male musicians, whether you like it or not

coil is gay, theres your diversity

>playing the victim card
you should have suggested one

give us your female recs.

>i'm just pointing out Cred Forums's collective unconscious bias towards male musicians
unfortunately you didnt and that bias doesnt exist
go be a fucking faggot some where else and stop ruining the thread

he doesnt have any because he has an unconscious bias towards male musicians

kek

rapture

youtube.com/watch?v=6gThm6vHwCQ

you type like you regularly post "triggered" memes

i have any female recs; im just as biased as everyone else here

...

Pic related or Paysage d'Hiver self titled for ice age

3 more.

Lazy bait

>you type like you regularly post "triggered" memes
k

rapture is finally looking pretty good
along with everything else

Seconding for societal collapse.

second for paysage dhiver st

there are three gy!be and two current 93 projects on the chart

maybe they're just that good?

>black metal
user please

Shouldn't it be fair to keep it to one album per band/artist maximum
Like metal wasn't allowed because so much of it fits there, wouldn't it be the same for bands

Post-Rock and Neofolk are perfect for the apocalypse
So I don't complain

Ice Age

the last one on cosmic horror should be pic related

get rid of some of the gy!be

> Dystopia
> no Zen Arcade

I would have every single gybe-affiliated project on there if I could get away with it. They have perfected doomsday

Foetus - Nail as far as Societal Collapse

That or Big Black - Atomizer.

>Shouldn't it be fair to keep it to one album per band/artist maximum
might have to take off some space from the chart considering how long its taken us to get this far if we do that

...

Godflesh - Streetcleaner

we only got two gy!be and both are literally perfect for there descriptors

yanqui uxo isnt even about nuclear war its about capitalist arms dealers

silver mt zion is a godspeed side project

where trying to keep this metal-lite idk why, but we already filled up societal collapse, which is where that would go, sorry.

If we're going to add one metal cosmic horror album, it should be either Portal or Morbid Angel.

Dystopia

oh yeah thats true, we could remove that one, i guess.

?????

Do you have a source for this? Because I was always pretty certain it was about nukes, and most people I come across have had the same opinion.

added

Replaced with pic

Need one more ice age/meteor and cosmic horror, please no black metal

would this fit into dystopia?

i mean, it's instrumental so there's not much to dissect lyrically. the packaging details the connections between major music labels and arms dealers but doesnt specifically mention nuclear weapons. none of the track titles refer to nuclear weapons, just conventional; nothing nuclear related happened on 9/15/2000

i feel like the cover art misleads people to the nuclear connection

for ice age?

Too personal.

pic related would be a good fit for societal collapse or dystopia, replacing Meme Grips or something

Nah, not really apocalyptic in nature?

ice age?

Just leave

I don't know if i'd call that "apoclayptic."

For cosmic horror. I guess The Sky's Gone Out would be more fitting but this is a better album and also works.

ice age would be pretty cool tho.

Yeah

Why is there no terminator type man-made ai/machines vs humans spot? This might fit, a lot of other albums too.
It's also somewhat a real threat compared to others on the list

fUCK IT, WE DONE

higher res version in next post

add ai uprising we can do this

mega.nz/#!vhBhnJAK!rc0joKeen6-G1zI1lymcUCEPLD8EkvKty6sdFxaQgrg

Not finished until you add ai uprising

lol

OP this isn't a legit rec

where's lift yer skinny fists?

it's literally about the rapture

Oh hey, I contributed something.

I gotta pass the torch on to someone else for that shit
Either that or someone shoots off 7 more right now

Name some other albums.

i feel like neon bible and clarence clarity are too upbeat for dystopia

i guess to add ill put this up for either dystopia, or societal collapse

youtu.be/N6UMXrLVz1w?t=43

>Neon Bible
>up beat

Just fucking stop, no.

the samples in this album represent DOOM as some sort of supervillian overlord, which could fit into cosmic being

this is the most cosmic horror album ever created

> Rapture

too late.

AI/singularity

yeah this song isnt up beat at all because it has melancholy sure thing

youtube.com/watch?v=c2YT3WQVvyo&index=2&list=PLGYtSju7jt9GaNWZrVikONV5bwDHVWjlZ

nevermind, just keep it in mind if you wanna reconsider changing some things around

I actually considered King Geedorah for this chart too because there's a bunch of giant monsters and shit attacking

This and Ok computer at least

>implying people wont want reminders of the good times during the apocalypes

what the fuck is cosmic horror

Neubauten is really good for apocalypse, can fit Dystopia, Scoietal Collapse and AI Uprising

AI uprising list so far
Mr. Roboto - Styx
Gary Numan + Tubeway Army - Replicas
Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine
Remko Scha - Machine Guitars

Also move Far Side Virtual, maybe add something from Vektroid?

extraterrestrial beings

Its melancholic and sounds pretty much hopeless, thatd be like calling float on by modest mouse "uplifting."

Also, Neon Bible, Ocean of Noise, Black Wave/Bad Vibrations, The Well and the Lighthouse, Antichrist Televisin Blues, and My Body is a Cage are all depressing af.

ancient gods, lovecraftian horror, that sort of thing

HP Lovecraft
Alien

that kind of stuff

mr. roboto was a meme rec

Internet Club - Redefining the Workplace

Perturbator - Dangerous Days

dystopia doenst really equate to apocalypse, youre now getting too far into characters and shit, when this is supposed to evoke a sensation of being amongst something

and dystopian futures usually dont really feel like jaunty indie tunes with some feels peppered in there

feels dont equate to dystopian futures, wistfulness isnt apocalyptic

like an elder god or some shit

I think DNA or Teenage Jesus And The Jerks would be good

You said "upbeat," Neon Bible is not "upbeat," don't change the goal posts.

...

meant to say uptempo, not trying to change goalposts, my points still are there and are presented

Cosmic horrors and societal collapse combined.

i agree

This one seems to fit a few different categories... someone help me out here

You tried to say "depressing does not equal apocalyptic" when we weren't talking about wther it was apocalyptic

Basically something that isn't demonic but is so absolutely fucked and powerful that in addition to killing you it may just drive you insane.

That plus Aliens.

*in addition depressing does not equal apocalyptic

fixed it, would you like to actually provide me with reasons as you really think it should stay there over anything else that isnt a melancholy indie album

the real sound of the robot takeover

would you guys be mad if I put the protomen under AI uprising
it fits, don't it?

Get rid of Codeine and put Paysage D'hiver S/T on Ice Age

Its about a totalitarian society where the religious govt controls everything. Sounds pretty apocalyptic to me.

not really, isnt it a video game rock opera about mega man dying or some shit?

my point was sonically its sound doesnt fit, themes may fit but i wouldnt ever think of that album as a dystopian thing, always felt like alternate reality present not the bad future

Singularity

>First Utterance

I love that album to death, but can I make an objection?
Part of what makes the horror work is the medieval setting, and despite the psuedo-magical themes, a lot of the songs have a narrative "safety net". i.e. The Prisoner is about a man who is going insane, but he's trapped in an asylum and it's implied there are people who haven't gone insane.

It's probably closer to a The Crossed style apocalypse than Cosmic horror, really.

thats a fair opinion I guess, but I think its hard to deny what the bands intent was with the themes. It was supposed to be a cautionary tale of the evangelical authoritarian right taking over. Kinda like 2112, wait why hasn't 2112 been mentioned yet?

Is this acceptable? I'd like to add some Vektroid in AI singularity somewhere but I don't know what fits best.

I love 2112, but its story takes place so far after the apocalypse already happened I don't think it counts

I like it, OP. Good job.

Awesome work OP! You did great :). Here's a cool pepe for you to enjoy as a reward for your hard work.

thanks to the power of teamwork

I hope people's tastes were expanded today and that this was a learning experience for all.

So, Cred Forums, what's the best section?
I can't decide between Nuclear Armaggedon, Third Impact or Cosmic Horror.

Good chart, actually, not even memeing

I quite like singularity and societal collapse

Feels like cosmic horror to me

oh thanks, never heard the term before.

>hey guys correlation is causation
Go to bed, Kenji

meteor/ice age

>no one's posted Faust yet
You faggots, it's THE definitive apocalypse album.

Replace Neon Bible with this

Nuclear Armageddon seems most fitting.

societal collapse

Rapture

societal collapse

>No Earth
This is probably what the rapture would sound like.

OP dammit you don't just put literally anything that's posted.

Then what do you do, mate?

cosmic horror.. literally

Listen and deliberate.

Elseq is cosmic horror 100%

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT THIS IN RAPTURE

OP are you still here?
minor complaint here, i think you should move shinji and asuka down a little more so they can be seen better

>Dystopia
Pink Floyd- Animals

>Nuclear Armageddon
Foetus- Nail
Napalm Death- From Enslavement to Obliteration
>Meteor
Swans- Filth

>Rapture
Diamanda Galas- The Litanies of Satan
Slayer- Hell Awaits

>Societal Collapse
Butthole Surfers- s/t ep
Cop Shoot Cop- Consumer Revolt

>Cosmic Horror
Vampire Rodents- Lullaby Land

THIS

>no rust in peace

really? I get that you don't like metal or whatever but that is literally THEY nuclear Armageddon album.

This album for nuclear armageddon

The subject matter is about post nuclear fallout society iirc

>Meteor
>Swans- Filth

what?

>Societal Collapse

Might be a little late but please put pic related for rapture senpai

for AI rising i nominate
add n to (x) - on the wires of our nerves
ryoji ikeda - dataplex
d/p/i - MN.ROY

societal collapse on god

Terra Tenebrosa for Cosmic Horror? Also, not sure if Comus fits in that category
This
and this
Where can I find a place to listen to this album?
You're an idiot

>Album literally called END OF THE WORLD
>nowhere
Sounds like a 60' nuclear apocalypse

How the fuck is this not in rapture?

Holy shit, sick idea OP.

cosmic horror

Why did you remove The Final Cut but added in Not Availble? How is N/A even an apocalyptic album?

Cool, but what exactly is "cosmic horror"? Aliens invading or the universe collapsing or something?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lovecraftian_horror

Can someone tell me what website/ tool they used to make this chart? I've seen this and the suicide chart and I want to make my own

paint

Jesus, it looks so good

Teach me senpai

medium: watercolour on canvas

don't even know what that means senpai

My guess (for a standalone application) would be InDesign since it's easy to keep track of the spaces, margins etc and it allows for a tight and symmetric look fast.

the whole album sounds like large objects crashing down

Dystopia

Natural Snow Buildings is a drone duo composed of a guy and girl

Cosmic Horror

Texas Jerusalem Crossroads

I have this album on vinyl. It comes with a booklet.

Nuclear armageddon
