I'd appreciate suggestions, since clearly my taste is shit and I don't know enough albums to fill it up. I'd like to avoid metal of any sort, because that's low-hanging fruit when it comes to doomsday music
we should add a "voluntary self-destruction" category
Charles Barnes
Progress so far. To-do list is extending the length of the black bars and maybe changing/removing the bottom category because I can't think of anything for it.
Brandon Young
Roger Waters - Radio Kaos Pink Floyd - The Final Cut
Josiah Ross
Put a pandemic category in it
David Diaz
Rudimentary Peni - Cacophany for Cosmic Horror
You should also add a category for AI Takeover and Pandemic
Hunter Powell
cosmic horror
Noah Flores
This makes sense.
Brody Brown
Dystopia
Evan Torres

Logan Allen

Hudson Gutierrez

Zachary Torres
societal collapse
Justin Edwards
Wouldn't Punk be more fitting for societal collapse
Gavin Garcia
>unironically saying "newfag"
Jordan Clark
OP, please move this to Pandemic
Caleb Wood
Discharge is a very political band and often dealt with nukes in their lyrics.
Adam Cruz
cosmic horror
(mesarthim - isolate)
Ethan Wilson
rapture is fucked. I removed pandemic because I didn't think we could fill it out, but if you have any suggestions for AI singularity/whatever I will add it
i'm making a second pass for recs I missed, this thread is going faster than I thought it would
Lucas Smith
i agree with adding a robot overlord category
Parker Bell
also I'll do a higher res version when this thread is over and upload it somewhere
Asher Lopez
pandemic
Leo Davis
add these redo rapture
Elijah King
for Pandemic
Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital by Axis of Perdition
Austin Gomez
Yes, maybe dystopia, shouldn't ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars be on there?
Nathan Nguyen
Ice age / Social collapse
Adrian Hernandez
Dystopia, or AI/Robot Takeover if it gets added.
Hudson Richardson
Swans - Holy Money for dystopia. I made one of these lists for myself once.
Logan Turner
I second this greatly
Grayson Lopez
op said to avoid metal because the themes permeate the genre
Juan Brooks
pandemic
Cooper Jenkins
nuclear
Gavin James
So are we not doing pandemic? How has no one menyioned this.
Carter Gutierrez
should have thought of this before i posted fair enough reason
Ryder Cox
Is the apocalypse in Ziggy Stardust ever described? It seems like it would go under meteor
Lincoln Richardson
oh shit my bad boys. I guess pandemic wont work very well then
Elijah Thomas

Nicholas Hughes

Nathaniel Murphy
Uh I tried to add The Ascension on the chart and he forgot about it That's it
Ryder Thomas
"no" Can we get this in Cosmic Horror?
Oliver Nguyen
...
Adam Scott
well obviously we arent going to post albums that we think are shit
Bentley Taylor
deafheaven is more apocalyptic than 90% of the stuff on there. No putting it on there causes its sort of "metal" (not even entirely metal) is stupid.
Brandon Lee
How can you forget Year Zero dude
Isaiah Harris
For nuclear apocalypse
Luke Brooks
>deafheaven is more apocalyptic than 90% of the stuff on there. incorrect
Angel Jenkins
that album deals primarily with themes of loss and rejection and has very little to do with anything apocalyptic
just because it sounds that way doesn't mean it belongs
Hudson Edwards
thou - heathen in societal collapse
Easton Walker
deafheaven fucking sounds like the apocalypse, even if you're a pretentious asshole, or just flat out don't like it, you can't deny it.
Aaron Perez
Obey the quads
He said to evitate metal because the majority of the Metal albums deal with these themes Also, it's barely apocalyptic
Austin Ortiz
see
Andrew Martin
gtfo faget
There are two kinds of people in this thread
>chart is about X >I wonder what album could work, maybe Y is appropriate, I'm going to suggest it
>man I really like Z, such a great album >sees thread about X chart >hey dude put Z in there it's totally relevant I swear
Ian Reyes
I feel fairly caught up, but feel free to tell me otherwise.
it's going on Rapture in the next iteration, I'm just slow
Connor Mitchell
I think it's safe to say windows is societal collapse at its finest.
Chase Sanders

>deafheaven >apocalyptic ?
Colton Green

we're free to disagree
Nathaniel Brown
go away
Colton Davis
Pantha du Prince - The Triad Ice age category
Juan Hernandez
seconding this for dystopia
David Williams
would you guys consider pre-reformation swans trilogy apocalyptic.
Thomas Watson
Add the album that user suggest and close that section 8 albums is enough.
Jose Moore
>ice age >no iceage
Carson Hall
societal collapse
Ian Mitchell
it's more localized than the end of the world, like one kid or family being stalked by a demon or something
I don't think we collectively agreed to not include them, the things people picked just happened to be like that So what would you like to suggest, instead of playing victim?
Jose Garcia
this switch an empty bliss with this
Grayson Barnes
i'm just pointing out Cred Forums's collective unconscious bias towards male musicians
William White
cosmic horror
Owen Rogers
you're not being helpful, also its not like the gender of the artists even matter.
Brody Ortiz
for ice age
Zachary Hill
Or the fact that anything that's not radio friendly pop and rock is made majorly of male musicians, whether you like it or not
Ayden Carter
coil is gay, theres your diversity
Ryder Jenkins
>playing the victim card you should have suggested one
Isaac Perez
give us your female recs.
Juan Long
>i'm just pointing out Cred Forums's collective unconscious bias towards male musicians unfortunately you didnt and that bias doesnt exist go be a fucking faggot some where else and stop ruining the thread
Mason Lewis
he doesnt have any because he has an unconscious bias towards male musicians
you type like you regularly post "triggered" memes
i have any female recs; im just as biased as everyone else here
Mason Diaz
...
Jason Murphy
Pic related or Paysage d'Hiver self titled for ice age
Parker Hernandez
3 more.
Lazy bait
Luke Bennett
>you type like you regularly post "triggered" memes k
Luke Flores
rapture is finally looking pretty good along with everything else
Jack Powell
Seconding for societal collapse.
Nolan Green
second for paysage dhiver st
John Hernandez
there are three gy!be and two current 93 projects on the chart
maybe they're just that good?
Carson Smith
>black metal user please
Joshua Robinson
Shouldn't it be fair to keep it to one album per band/artist maximum Like metal wasn't allowed because so much of it fits there, wouldn't it be the same for bands
Henry Watson
Post-Rock and Neofolk are perfect for the apocalypse So I don't complain
Jacob Diaz
Ice Age
Nathan White
the last one on cosmic horror should be pic related
get rid of some of the gy!be
Wyatt Sanders
> Dystopia > no Zen Arcade
Isaiah Stewart
I would have every single gybe-affiliated project on there if I could get away with it. They have perfected doomsday
Hudson Walker
Foetus - Nail as far as Societal Collapse
That or Big Black - Atomizer.
Cooper Ward
>Shouldn't it be fair to keep it to one album per band/artist maximum might have to take off some space from the chart considering how long its taken us to get this far if we do that
Cooper Nguyen
...
Landon Howard
Godflesh - Streetcleaner
Nathan Myers
we only got two gy!be and both are literally perfect for there descriptors
Tyler Smith
yanqui uxo isnt even about nuclear war its about capitalist arms dealers
Charles Clark
silver mt zion is a godspeed side project
Daniel Collins
where trying to keep this metal-lite idk why, but we already filled up societal collapse, which is where that would go, sorry.
Grayson Morris
If we're going to add one metal cosmic horror album, it should be either Portal or Morbid Angel.
Nicholas Jones
Dystopia
Caleb Hall
oh yeah thats true, we could remove that one, i guess.
Chase Reyes
?????
Do you have a source for this? Because I was always pretty certain it was about nukes, and most people I come across have had the same opinion.
Joshua Garcia
added
Replaced with pic
Need one more ice age/meteor and cosmic horror, please no black metal
Levi Brooks
would this fit into dystopia?
Matthew James
i mean, it's instrumental so there's not much to dissect lyrically. the packaging details the connections between major music labels and arms dealers but doesnt specifically mention nuclear weapons. none of the track titles refer to nuclear weapons, just conventional; nothing nuclear related happened on 9/15/2000
i feel like the cover art misleads people to the nuclear connection
Austin Martinez
for ice age?
David Perez
Too personal.
Brandon Mitchell
pic related would be a good fit for societal collapse or dystopia, replacing Meme Grips or something
Carter Bailey
Nah, not really apocalyptic in nature?
Christopher Rivera
ice age?
Henry Brown
Just leave
Dominic Ross
I don't know if i'd call that "apoclayptic."
Jonathan Miller
For cosmic horror. I guess The Sky's Gone Out would be more fitting but this is a better album and also works.
Lucas Thompson
ice age would be pretty cool tho.
Colton Murphy
Yeah
Ayden Johnson
Why is there no terminator type man-made ai/machines vs humans spot? This might fit, a lot of other albums too. It's also somewhat a real threat compared to others on the list
nevermind, just keep it in mind if you wanna reconsider changing some things around
Parker Howard
I actually considered King Geedorah for this chart too because there's a bunch of giant monsters and shit attacking
Mason Collins
This and Ok computer at least
Eli Cooper
>implying people wont want reminders of the good times during the apocalypes
Wyatt White
what the fuck is cosmic horror
Lincoln Morgan
Neubauten is really good for apocalypse, can fit Dystopia, Scoietal Collapse and AI Uprising
Jacob Morris
AI uprising list so far Mr. Roboto - Styx Gary Numan + Tubeway Army - Replicas Kraftwerk - The Man-Machine Remko Scha - Machine Guitars
Also move Far Side Virtual, maybe add something from Vektroid?
Aaron Morales
extraterrestrial beings
Angel Hughes
Its melancholic and sounds pretty much hopeless, thatd be like calling float on by modest mouse "uplifting."
Also, Neon Bible, Ocean of Noise, Black Wave/Bad Vibrations, The Well and the Lighthouse, Antichrist Televisin Blues, and My Body is a Cage are all depressing af.
Anthony Walker
ancient gods, lovecraftian horror, that sort of thing
Jeremiah Lopez
HP Lovecraft Alien
that kind of stuff
Dylan Robinson
mr. roboto was a meme rec
Christopher Mitchell
Internet Club - Redefining the Workplace
Zachary Hall
Perturbator - Dangerous Days
Jason Allen
dystopia doenst really equate to apocalypse, youre now getting too far into characters and shit, when this is supposed to evoke a sensation of being amongst something
and dystopian futures usually dont really feel like jaunty indie tunes with some feels peppered in there
feels dont equate to dystopian futures, wistfulness isnt apocalyptic
James Cruz
like an elder god or some shit
Bentley White
I think DNA or Teenage Jesus And The Jerks would be good
Jose Rogers
You said "upbeat," Neon Bible is not "upbeat," don't change the goal posts.
Caleb Scott
...
Carson Kelly
meant to say uptempo, not trying to change goalposts, my points still are there and are presented
Jack Cooper
Cosmic horrors and societal collapse combined.
James Wilson
i agree
Jacob Scott
This one seems to fit a few different categories... someone help me out here
Tyler Watson
You tried to say "depressing does not equal apocalyptic" when we weren't talking about wther it was apocalyptic
Tyler Flores
Basically something that isn't demonic but is so absolutely fucked and powerful that in addition to killing you it may just drive you insane.
That plus Aliens.
Robert Flores
*in addition depressing does not equal apocalyptic
fixed it, would you like to actually provide me with reasons as you really think it should stay there over anything else that isnt a melancholy indie album
Grayson Martin
the real sound of the robot takeover
Colton Rodriguez
would you guys be mad if I put the protomen under AI uprising it fits, don't it?
Austin Lee
Get rid of Codeine and put Paysage D'hiver S/T on Ice Age
Christopher Morris
Its about a totalitarian society where the religious govt controls everything. Sounds pretty apocalyptic to me.
William Lewis
not really, isnt it a video game rock opera about mega man dying or some shit?
my point was sonically its sound doesnt fit, themes may fit but i wouldnt ever think of that album as a dystopian thing, always felt like alternate reality present not the bad future
Joseph Cook
Singularity
Nolan Hall
>First Utterance
I love that album to death, but can I make an objection? Part of what makes the horror work is the medieval setting, and despite the psuedo-magical themes, a lot of the songs have a narrative "safety net". i.e. The Prisoner is about a man who is going insane, but he's trapped in an asylum and it's implied there are people who haven't gone insane.
It's probably closer to a The Crossed style apocalypse than Cosmic horror, really.
Gabriel Cook
thats a fair opinion I guess, but I think its hard to deny what the bands intent was with the themes. It was supposed to be a cautionary tale of the evangelical authoritarian right taking over. Kinda like 2112, wait why hasn't 2112 been mentioned yet?
Nolan Smith
Is this acceptable? I'd like to add some Vektroid in AI singularity somewhere but I don't know what fits best.
I love 2112, but its story takes place so far after the apocalypse already happened I don't think it counts
Lincoln Garcia
I like it, OP. Good job.
Joseph Ramirez
Awesome work OP! You did great :). Here's a cool pepe for you to enjoy as a reward for your hard work.
Ethan Sanders
thanks to the power of teamwork
I hope people's tastes were expanded today and that this was a learning experience for all.
Chase Thompson
So, Cred Forums, what's the best section? I can't decide between Nuclear Armaggedon, Third Impact or Cosmic Horror.
Good chart, actually, not even memeing
Isaac Young
I quite like singularity and societal collapse
Luis Jenkins
Feels like cosmic horror to me
Noah Williams
oh thanks, never heard the term before.
Ethan Long
>hey guys correlation is causation Go to bed, Kenji
Jack Martinez
meteor/ice age
Charles Reed
>no one's posted Faust yet You faggots, it's THE definitive apocalypse album.
Chase Barnes
Replace Neon Bible with this
Jacob Reed
Nuclear Armageddon seems most fitting.
Brody White
societal collapse
Sebastian Barnes
Rapture
James Campbell
societal collapse
Nathaniel Price
>No Earth This is probably what the rapture would sound like.
Juan Sullivan

Justin Hill

Oliver Phillips

Zachary Howard
>Dystopia Pink Floyd- Animals
>Nuclear Armageddon Foetus- Nail Napalm Death- From Enslavement to Obliteration >Meteor Swans- Filth
>Rapture Diamanda Galas- The Litanies of Satan Slayer- Hell Awaits

Samuel James

Lincoln Ortiz

Adrian Jackson
Terra Tenebrosa for Cosmic Horror? Also, not sure if Comus fits in that category This and this Where can I find a place to listen to this album? You're an idiot
Nicholas Jenkins
>Album literally called END OF THE WORLD >nowhere Sounds like a 60' nuclear apocalypse
Julian Perry
How the fuck is this not in rapture?
Nicholas Hall
Holy shit, sick idea OP.
Eli Powell
cosmic horror
Connor Davis
Why did you remove The Final Cut but added in Not Availble? How is N/A even an apocalyptic album?
Joseph Jackson
Cool, but what exactly is "cosmic horror"? Aliens invading or the universe collapsing or something?
Can someone tell me what website/ tool they used to make this chart? I've seen this and the suicide chart and I want to make my own
Levi Phillips
paint
Jace Sanchez
Jesus, it looks so good
Teach me senpai
Julian Howard
medium: watercolour on canvas
Ian Turner
don't even know what that means senpai
Jonathan Hall
My guess (for a standalone application) would be InDesign since it's easy to keep track of the spaces, margins etc and it allows for a tight and symmetric look fast.
Samuel Garcia
the whole album sounds like large objects crashing down
Carson Scott
Dystopia
Nathaniel Mitchell
Natural Snow Buildings is a drone duo composed of a guy and girl
Joseph Sanchez
Cosmic Horror
Hunter Bailey
Texas Jerusalem Crossroads
