Because In Utero was better

Nice meme.

Drain You is the best song in the album.

I know rite. Bleach is obviously their best album

Territorial Pissings

nevermind.

wrong, its incesticide

Breed

Agreed.

>album
>it's actually a compilation

You know you're right

lmao Unplugged is best Nirvana you shit taste having plebs

its legitmately more diverse and creative than the power chord pop grundge of nevermind and IU

Incesticide sounds like early Cheap Trick.

Because it's tomorrow numb nuts

>mtv
>meat puppets and David bowie covers
>no new songs

Cool

doesn't matter, its the best thing in their discography

>tfw Kurt Cobain could've consistently made great pop rock records that wouldve each sold millions of copies

I honestly believe he woudlve made another Nevermind like record to get back into the scene

Kurt was going full acoustic for the next album

this or unplugged. Their Meat Puppet covers were god tier

how contrarian do you have to be

In Utero > Nevermind > Live Through This > Bleach

his best work was still to come (see: Do Re Mi)

I heard some of the stuff
Real shame that it could've been his White Album
youtube.com/watch?v=EMT64q_2fM0

I doubt anything after would of had Dave and Krist on it. Seems like in those last few months he was done with them and all buddy buddy with Pat

its not contrarian, it's literally the best thing in their entire career. everything else is literally so dated and screams wrong generation

lool yes, nobody made a thread anticipating absolutely nothing happening.

>muh top 40 grunge

Lounge Act

7/10 jeff magnum impersonator

Best Drain You scream?
France '94 is my vote

Incesticide is the definition of a mixed bag

it has one mega-tune (Aneurysm), some art-damaged weirdo schlock (hairspray queen, beeswax), some of their most generic and shitty buttrock songs (stain, been a son), and a few catchy covers

it really doesn't add up to much

I do wish Cobain showed more of his goofy new wave side tho

because its awful

the tv one where his guitar goes out?

that might be his best scream period

that whole performance is unsettling as hell

because this 25th anniversary matters more

Because people are waiting for tomorrow.

Yup that one. You can just tell he's furious when he throws it on the ground

how is it not contrarian? its the one album that barely anybody considers to be their best, or even one of their best. learn the definition of words before you throw them around

Is that... is that a fucking baby's penis? Are you posting fucking child porn?

They're not great.

Because it's the most overrerated, over-discussed album ever.

Fecal matter is his best work

the demos on With the Light Out are better than anything on their actual albums
> Help me, i'm hungry
> Dont want it all
> if you must
>even in his youth
>do re mi
>clean up before she comes

Are you 12?

Yes

because we're not dadrock faggots here?

maybe you meant to post this on reddit?

pretty much
Nevermind is remarkably average

What are you 12?

daily reminder that the rise of grunge/alt-rock was the "disco sucks" movement of the 90s.

It saw the forward-thinking and deliberately synthetic production of 80s pop as "inauthentic" and the playful sexuality of hair metal as unmasculine and reacted against them by championing the tired trope of the the introspective young white man with a lot of angst in his heart.

when you put nirvana or sonic youth or whoever on a pedestal, you are enshrining rockism and devaluing the work of queer, POC artists

I prefer in utero and bleach personally
I found that In Utero had a lot of more interesting instrumentation and song writing. Same goes for bleach(I like that album better than nevermind too) .
I think it has more to do with the fact that I have listened to nevermind too many times

>nirvana
>dad rock
you're browsing Cred Forums nigger

Because it's tomorrow
Because Kurt is dead
Because it's shit

This.

It's really not that good of an album.

I read "full autistic"

>daily reminder
Didn't have to keep reading to know it was another tumblr "problematic" opinion

White people did fuck up a lot, but you're so far reaching right here. Kurt was influenced by Pixies, the breeders, Frank and Kim, iggy pop and the stooges. His influences were made well before the 80s. You think he made a band because POC were making disco? If he might have not liked disco (I don't even know if this is true), does not mean he didn't respect the people behind it and their work. Because Nirvana exists does not mean I or others will not pay attention to bands with POC artists, especially since the band is pretty dead now.

Friendly reminder this is better than every Nirvana album

carry on!

MY LIGHT SHINES ON

>came out 7 days after her husband's death
Nice marketing scheme

This is correct

Leave her ALONE

Incesticide has better versions of Been A Son and Polly but In Utero is the best in their discography.

>everything else is literally so dated and screams wrong generation

An incredibly hipster thing to say which isn't surprising coming from someone who says a lesser known b side compilation is the best album for a huge band

Maybe he just really likes Incesticide. I know I do. I don't agree with the whole "so dated, screams wrong generation" shit he's spewing, though.

I agree, its great and all, but to go around preaching that its the best just comes across like you're saying it just for the sake of being cool and different.

A real convenient opinion to have on an anonymous music forum.

why would i ever listen to nirvana if i could just listen to the melvins?

Because the melvins are lame.

...

Nirvana is THE fucking overrated band thats why, you fucking shill

I actually just really like incesticide, it was the first album that got me into better music

MODS, C.P. HERE!

>«when you put nirvana or sonic youth or whoever on a pedestal,»
*whomever*
>lrn 2 Inglish, fэgıт

That title would go to the beatles my friend, and the runner up would be radiohead.

Is there anything to say about this album that hasn't been said a million times before?

It's a good album and the best nirvana album by the way, sorry for not having an edgier opinion.

In utero is infinitely better. But I'm interested in hearing why you think nevermind is their best

Nirvana sucks.

Literally none of the lyrics make any sense at all.

It used to be but people like you have pushed it over the edge to the point where this shit has become underrated.

I don't think it's technically better and I don't think the individual songs are better either, but there's a certain resonance on nevermind and a sonic consistency throughout that really makes it comes together as an album you can listen to over and over in a way that in utero just never did for me.

>caring about lyrics

you never listen Eddie vedder lyrics

Because this isn't /r/music

...

Jesus christ just stop

Nirvana sucks and grunge sucks.

Just what is it that you want to do?

This.
Nu Metal>>>>>>>>>>>>

You take that back!

Seriously, fucking google the following 3: 'youth against fascism', 'leadbelly nirvana' and 'kurt cobain advocate' which will give you all you need to know.

>that feel when that baby/person isnt alive anymore

were getting old Cred Forums

Reminder that Kurt was a nu-male cuck

but that was written by kurdt kobain, not kurt cobain

He was trying to get something going with Michael Stipe.

This, it was literally a cash-in by Geffen to sell more records whilst the band was still the flavour of the month hot shit, ranging from their early shitty juvenilia to pointless Peel session covers.

The only tracks on the album worth the time are Sliver and Aneurysm.

The Cred Forums guide to choosing the best song on an album:

Step 1: Identify the best song on the album
Step 2: Disregard it
Step 3: Pick a random song that nobody remembers

>Pick a random song that nobody remembers
Wasn't Drain You a single? Even if not, it would certainly be highly voted in a poll of best tracks on the album.

Me? I vote Endless, Nameless of course.

I used to collect Nirvana bootleg CDs back when online file sharing wasn't even a thing. It felt a joy to hear all this unreleased stuff even if the sound quality wasn't that great.

>Doesn't mention Dive, Aero Zeppelin, Big Long Now
>Some Of Nirvana's best songs

>big long now
My man

But didn't Kurt say that he always intended Drain You to have the huge success that SLTS had and that the latter was more of a fluke?

Endless, Nameless

>1991 was 75 years ago
fuck I'm old

MODS

nirvana more no-vana heh heh woah

It hurts just watching that :'|

>I'm seriously afraid to touch myself.

i love nirvana, without a doubt probably listened to their stuff more than anyone else. but i can see why people say the stuff they do about nirvana case and point this thread. people who honestly say incesticide or bootleg rips are better than their studio albums just for the sake of looking cool on the internet should be castrated. i think i saw someone unrionically say endless nameless is the best song on nevermind.

happy 25th nevermind
we all miss you kurt

who cares? Illiteracy Will Prevail is ny far their best album

Very well said

>Dadrock
Wrong shitpost group

You're not?

LOL

>Mfw I was inspired by Lithium to shave my head this summer and it didn't make me sad

This album art makes me feel like I'm in a pool. Wtf

Let's face it: Nirvana sucks. Their songs are ok, their albums are ok, but they're not that good. Grunge music in general is bad. All Nirvana did (the only reason why they are influential) is because they made alternative rock go from underground college rock to to famous mainstream music.

>20th anniversary same day
>no thread

this so much. actually thinking that incesticide is better as an album than in utero or nevermind is probably the most contrarian opinion i've heard in a while

Anyone who hates this record today is just trying to be cool, and needs to be trying harder.

Pitchfork was right for once.

this is some edgy shit

I don't think the significance of 'Nevermind' can be fully understood without reading this book.
