what genre is this? what's unique about it. first time seeing it
It's sample heavy, chopped-and-screwed industrial black metal
youtube.com
love that album. obviously i dont like metal. is there really nothing else like it?
whys that obvious
well i suppose it isn't. but i figured that, much like sunbather, it was a metal album for non-metal people.
No other album will ever sound like this.
what's the classical music sampled at the beginning???
It's some really strange ambient, psychedelic, blackened industrial music that the artist made via remixing a 2 hour guitar session and adding samples on top of it, he claims that he wrote the album in a "sacred pagan shrine" in the woods while high or some stupid shit like that.
Carl Orff - Carmina Burana: "Veris Leta Facies" youtu.be

Calibro 35 - Calibro 35
One of the best albums my wretched country has ever produced, recommended to everyone with at least a faint interest in music
the wait for this moment time that changes your world trying to fight the truth crumbles you will too trying to fit in perfect
...
italian motherfucker here, i saw calibro 35 3 times live in arezzo firenze and bologna and they where awesome
i'll post one of the best italian albums ever, really unique sound never heard anything like it
Great album , would be nice to get a follow up
Meme aside, it actually is.
i thought i was the only one on this board that listen to this. A Triptych is goat
This makes me sad
whatever you might THINK sounds similar, it actually doesn't tho
Bob Marley lol
you ought to die son die with my dixk in your ass
>just a more angry Nick Cave
anything dean blunt,james ferraro,arca,opn
Mediocre avant blackmetal. Listened to it once and forgot about it. Not worth bothering
Dr. John's Night Tripper era is very similar.
I'm sure there's more wonky 60's / 70's swampy psychedelic voodoo shit but I'm not really that familiar with New Orleans
...
why user? hot garbage isn't unique in music
Literally the best album I've ever heard
>tfw 99% of Cred Forumscore is hot garbage
Yeah, this. It's a bummer.
sounds like the avalanches if the avalanches were actually disco
you're clearly in the minority here. you didn't get it because you have no attention span. that's fine though
>butthurt fan resorts to attacking the intelligence of the hater.
Stay mad avant-teen. Come back to me when you've listened to the St. Matthew Passion in one sitting without braising Cred Forums at the same time.
Go on, meme your way out of that.
>i can't handle other people opinions reeeeeeee
calm your autism
I literally listened to it last night. nice try
>easy listening industrial/ambient/black metal
>something to get
epic
>muh because it's ambient it's easy listening XD
this kicks ass, thanks user.
it actually is though
Anyone know any similar moogy sounding albums?
absolutely. one of my favorites
It's an odd one
>Autism
holy fuck this is terrible. as cringe worthy as the album art
>he doesn't get it
I get it, its just bad
...
...
god why the fuck is the album art so bad
anyone have a dl link for this?
So is there a purpose for shitting up this thread or what. Bored?
Mellow Candle is kinda similar, way more toned down of course though
I love metal but I also love Sunbather and Murmuure though.
...
All these, of course.
mostly riffless hipster garbage
...
what about the second S/T that sounds exactly like that
animal collective lol.
that's actually one of my all time favorite album covers ever
Casualties of Cool
>being this conservative in the face of innovation
alex chilton etc
...
dat clouddead album is one of a kind but have you checked out:
sole
buck 65
pic related?
...
The intro to this song sounds very similar to Comus
youtube.com
Also maybe some Godz stuff
Nah, if you're going to bring Mellow Candle in you'd have to include Pentangle, Steeleye Span, Fairport Convention, Anne Briggs and the rest of late 60s/early 70s britfolk.
Get on my level
I just realized I've actually listened to this before.
>chopped-n-screwed black metal
>She LOVED to go fast!
...
well, Ten by clouddead sounds similar and I'd argue is even better.
also pretty much every other band that Yoni Wolf has been a part of sounds kinda like clouddead
there's nothing else like this
>shitty generic pop folk
>unique
kill yourself edgelord. you would never have liked it if it wasn't made by Manson and nobody else would have either
thank god
>sample heavy
>chopped-and-screwed
>industrial
holy shit man
That's true but it's much worse.
edgy and cool opinion friend :^)
The fact that nothing else sounds like this is made even more impressive by how well known it is.
>half of these bands didn't do anything even remotely new, or for that matter, interesting
try harder 2bh
what is so "unique" sounding about them? there's like entire subgenres of electronic music that sound exactly like them
...
Maybe like Incunabula, but no Confield.
This just makes me think you know nothing about electronic music.
>But it's all IDM
>It sounds exactly the same as Aphex Twin and Squarepusher
not the guy you're responding to but that's a neat list. thanks
No, I would assume Aphex Twin and Squarepusher are in different subgenres.
I was thinking more Inventing Masks or Blitzkrieg Baby or something
I'm checking it out. I enjoy this music but I'm reasonably sure there's a lot of artists experimenting in this vein. Perhaps in imitation of Autechre, but nonetheless.
okay, track 2 could easily be on Black Dice's Load Blown
I don't really see it but okay sure
If you could give me some recommendations on things that sound like Oversteps that would be sweet
I'm talking specifically in reference to this album Confield, which I'm enjoying tremendously and would rather not turn off. But keep an eye on the thread, I'll get to it eventually.
I will further say that these double-jointed beats are one Karin Dreijer appearance away from Shaking The Habitual era Knife.
I love Shaking the Habitual but compared to Confield it sound way watered down
After some consideration I am going to say Enter the Wu Tang.
Even the group itself never did anything quite like it again.
>RZA invented a totally individual production style for the album
>almost every song is a posse cut from a totally unique cast of characters who would never be this hungry and energetic again
>subject matter totally unique in all hip hop (wu tang's weird version of 5% nation mythology)
etc
I agree with you, and if you want to tell me Confield is the first and best example of this style then I'll cosign 100%. But a watered down imitation still means you are no longer unique.
I think Comus is the best choice so far to be honest
The new album doesn't feel the same.
I am sure there is other music like this, but I personally have not heard it. Feel free to educate my ignorant ass.
youtube.com
If that's what you mean then sure I can agree. There's a lot of imitators out there, good and bad, but fuck me these two lads have such chemistry. I doubt many electronic artist put as much effort into staying one step ahead
I'm not trying to be a party pooper man, the music is superb no doubt
...
It's cool man there's always room to argue about how original the record is
...
link to a youtube vid on this?
the back half of this album is still the most futuristic-sounding music ever
truly awe-inspiring
...
this is what the likes of why? and Fog wish they sounded like
i haven't heard anything that comes close in terms of quality and ideas
FARTING HI HATS
fall out boy sound exactly like them (especially infinity on high) but that's probably the only band
pretty by the numbers post punk desu
Great stuff, I'm hearing Godz, red krayola, bright eyes, comus, leng tch'e, lou reed, all sorts of great stuff. What a discovery!
What about this
There is tons of proggy avant-folk like Comus.
Why they got the grateful dead skeleton?
...
This album is seriously timeless, aside from Cfern there is no way of knowing this is 15 years old
...
Find something with anywhere near as good composition, which is what really sells First Utterance.
Hounds of Love stands out to me
Excellent taste
Yup, i hate when people shit on it
...
...
...
...
...
...
How the fuck do I search for that
...
...
absolutely awful
...
...
...
...
it's great but i wouldn't call it unique, would you?
Again, I ask
Why they got the grateful dead skeleton?
>Liturgy
>Murmuure
>Gigan
>Aluk Todolo
>Oranssi Pazuzu
>essentially the entire list
>not among the more unique metal releases
This album is not for everyone. But doesn't mean it's bad it's a great record.
Wow, this is really garbage, how dumb can you be?
thanks for some hot links.
thank you for this. fucking dope links, reccing all of this
...
I wonder how many people thought this was originally a Grateful Dead album.
This is the best thing I ever listened too, wtf
...
names of albums?
I was about to post this but it was already posted.
...
maudlin of the well
