I've missed you, BC. I have an upcoming interview with the Canadian radio show The Antidote on the 30th where they'll be broadcasting some tunes. I'll post more info as the time comes closer. In the meantime, keep the thread alive enough for me to check when I get home pls
HEY I LIKE YOU GUYS
btw Laika, any idea when the release date might be? Something tells me it'll be a 2017 release
Thanks man, I really like your stuff too. Have you got plans for a new album soon?
Hmm well I have the songs written, the biggest obstacle to cross is recording them. Arrayed was recorded with the tedious use of cell phone and a laggy laptop and I don't want to revisit that method since it was p stressful. So basically, as soon as I get my hands on better equipment, I will (but my focus has been shifting towards painting, work, and education so I think I might take a break and let the album simmer for the next year)
>tedious use of cell phone and a laggy laptop
I've been there so I feel you. I recorded my first ever album and an EP that way and it really didn't turn out the way I wanted it to sound.
Keep jamming in the meantime though. I haven't picked up my synth in weeks now and last time I played I felt like I lost it. Still do desu.

Yeah, I figure it's just the right time to take a break anyways. As much as we all love music and making it, life is still more than just this.

I've listened to:
>red-army.bandcamp.com
I would describe this as a blend of industrial/martial percussions, post-apocalyptic atmospheres and video games music,
with a 70's funk-jazz piano popping out here and there.
Very cohesive from start to finish, maybe a little repetitive in it's continous use of (midi) synths, I would enjoy a more
various instrumentation.
Track 4 and 6 are real stand-outs
Do not miss it.

Apparently one of the fans of the radio station suggested it to the owner (who are apparently close) so they asked me. It's honestly an honor and I'll make sure to give Cred Forums and you guys a shoutouts while I'm there since I seriously wouldn't be anywhere without you
Wow I can't believe you and Epiglottis are dropping new material on the same day. Am hyped.

Goodies:
Arrayed Above Seraphim Lights is a big favourite. Best one from these Bandcamp threads imo. I wanted to order a cassette but it costs a lot with the shipping.
>tfw living in a shithole
Lovely ambient music, recommending as usual.
The album art caught my attention, so I listened to it. It felt a bit generic at first, then the layered vocals and all that glitch and shit kicked in. Holy shit.
Depressive as shit, but not devastating, because the guitars are too quiet, hiding softly in the background like a shy kitten. Make it evil and sinister.

I listened to mostly the fourth song. It became pretty transcendent towards the end. But my advice, basically, is to make all this stuff a little rougher around the edges. (And this is something that it seems like you're already on your way to.) You don't want it to be so soft and ethereal that it passes right by, which sometimes happened in your stuff. Regardless, I'll be coming back to it for sure.
I'm a sucker for classical guitar pieces so this is nice. I'm a big sucker for harmonics too so that was nice. Doesn't sound too much like "depression" to me, then again I didn't listen to all of it. In the future I'd want to see what you would do in place of improvisation. Something in the direction of the old guys like Ferdinando Carrulli or Matteo Carcassi maybe? Or is that too boring? At any rate, nice job.
Obligatory rec. Definitely gonna check out that radio show cuz like a true creepy stalker fan I've been googling stuff about your band. Gotta say that 1- I'm highly fascinated by the concept of an Even Oxen "dance music" record and 2- HOW did you find all these patrician Christian bands like Half-Handed Cloud, Trees Community, Lift to Experience, etcetera??

What's up, dude? If you write me an email with something of an address I'd be more than happy to get one out to you, no charge
Haha I'm way too flattered about this than I should be. Well to be honest m8 I still do have an entire folk based album already written but my methods of recording have put a damper on releasing that. Which isn't a big deal to me since the album is picking up more attention now than it even did when I first released it. I guess this is all to say that the dance record I was talking about might sit still until I get this other one out (whenever that might be)
Lol believe it or not but most of those bands I found through Cred Forums (bar HHC, that was a last.fm rec back in 2011)

That's really nice of you but I'm living in East Europe and I have no idea how much it would be to send it. I mean, I once wanted to order a noise album shipping from US and it would've cost $32. The CD was 2 dollars.

Sorry it took so long bear. I actually had to rush it and make some compromises in order to get it out by the day I had it out. The album cover was supposed to be a real cover, there was a song I had to cut and I had to make a bastard version of frozen lake syndrome in order to get it out on the day of the Equinox

Description:
"An EP I made."
-AP Macroeconomics
With a name like AP Macroeconomics, you would expect something completely horrible or completely funny. Even some of the song titles would seem like jokes. But behind the oddity of a name, Thomas Meskil presents the listener something totally opposite. Mumbling guitars, cohesively cluttered percussion, somber soaked vocals, humble, like a hug from a wise, old friend. Compatible with lyrics that feel both personal to the man behind the name and universal to all who listen, AP Macroeconomics is definitely a musician to keep your eye on.
Now available for stream and download! CDs available at AP Macroeconomic's bandcamp as well!
Support, scrobble, or review on RYM. Any feedback of any kind would be greatly appreciated. And give Thomas some love. Thank You. :)
Will still be accepting submissions for the label.

RECS:
Great if you like fast paced electronics that aren't a racing video game music. I loved the last track on Vaporhoudini.
Very well composed, produced, and beautiful tunes.
I think today is the day I listen to your whole thing, will probably get back next time.
Recd it many times, and will continue to do so.
Every album on this bandcamp is good, if you don't like one, try another.
Never heard of that genre, but sounds good, the mix of noise and non noise works very well. I like the way the voice (is it a voice?) moves through the music in a very ethereal way.
I liked most of it, but I found Flatulent Swamps-Nothing a bit out of place.
As annoying as it was, id rather it be out. I'm learning to enjoy the different versions and the more I thought about the song I cut, the more I realized it didn't fit. I liked that songs that existed on just one guitar became an entity of their own when recorded. So I stand by it, it's mainly the process of getting it out that aggravated me
Forgot to rec this mate here!
thx for listening. i like your take on that song, we might have kind of similar preferences when it comes to ambient sounds if you like some rougher textures mixed in there. hope you get to absorb more of it in the future, my friend and i put a lot of effort into making it kind of 3d sounding.
