DEVO's cover of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
I grew up on classic rock. The local rock station was always on in the car when I was driving around with my dad, and my teenage tastes skewed heavily in that fashion.
Seeing a rerun of DEVO's 1978 SNL performance one night, changed that. They started with their cover of "Satisfaction" and it broke my fucking brain in the best way. I didn't know you could DO that to a song, let alone have it be good.
