there's obviously a huge extreme metal influence in motW but they're a band that get tr00 kvlt metalarchives metalheads triggered for a good reason. i feel like they and kayo dot fall into a category of avant-garde that a lot of modern prog or fusion bands fall in to, where so many influences are drawn upon that it becomes useless trying to categorize the band, they just are unique

They're influenced by metal (or, rather, Toby is since it's just his project anymore), but only sometimes and to varying degrees.

However, their 'non metal' albums now outweight their metal influenced albums so I guess you could say no, but it doesn't really matter.

Like them and Toby's stuff a lot, though, either way.
