Yeah and it wasn't released during my decade or even my lifetime. Pop music, at least to me, seems to only connect to the generation that consumed it first. Other music that isn't really meant to appeal to every single person ages a lot better in my opinion.
I'm sure Purple Rain is fucking amazing for people that grew up with it. I don't need to like it though, it wasn't really made for me.
