AOTYSF
ain't even that big a Frank fan desu.

Lol no

that album was literally trash

Pretty great album, hard to digest though. Not something I will probably listen to a lot.

Wildflower or Wabi Sabi

htink again

Did this come out yet?

Wildflower was damn good too

It certainly was. Hope it gets more praise over the years. It was hard to live up to Wildflower. 16 years of hype, its bound to leave people let down, even though I personally think it's great.

>it was hard to live up to Wildflower
Since I Left You* I mean.

I'm going to bed, this thread better still be fucking up when I wake up

The Astonishing

The Impossible Kid by Aesop Rock.

Or you could do something else with your life faggot instead of sit on Cred Forums your entire life.

an 8/10 rip. wait for the official release imo

oh no my self esteem

Well I mean it's the obvious choice. This website is a shit hole.

liar

I wonder what else you've lied about

oh now its the websites fault

I'm no NEET man. I just love music. Love talking about it. Only post like 4 threads a year.
When I was 5 I didn't actually eat the broccoli, I just said I did so mommy wouldn't get mad

fuck these fags OP you're right

Probably too early to proclaim it but I've been listening to it like, twice a day since it dropped

The Healing Component is really good too but I've listened twice.

Honor Killed The Samurai might be even better than Days With Dr. Yen Lo.

>using the alternate cover

Is Daydreaming the saddest song of the year?

One of the best punk/post-hardcore releases of the year.

displacement is feels
gather is fun to play on guitar too

When are La Dispute going to release a new album. I WANT IT I NEED IT

I dont know about these vocals

Check out La Dispute

Tiny Dots (2016, Vagrant Records,

will do

The vocals work really well for this style of music. The lyrics hit you right in the feels. This album is going to destroy me if I lose a loved one to cancer.

even more than Carrie and Lowell?

Not at all comparable.

well I meant thematically

Still need to check that out.

its been awhile but I remember it being really fucked up like intense about losing his mom to cancer

what am I listening to? this all like electronic drone instrumental stuff. Whats the connection?

How would y'all compare it to his first one? I did not understand the hype on that one.

This. Already one of my favorites. The Governor fucking kills.

How is La Dispute anything like electronic drone metal.

I dunno but thats exactly what I just heard except I didnt say metal

and I should've said electronic/drone

the first song isnt electronic but it is drone/ambient

the 2nd song is full on bleep boop

wot

And unsuprisingly I haven't seen this mentioned even once on this shitty board

Check out La Dispute if you're a shameless, weak little child who sincerely believes that the world revolves around your inability to get over a girl who broke up with you 6 years ago.

(from a recovered la dispute fan)

Jaar did a damn fine job with this

Man, I really didn't think much of Aesop Rock's new one. The songs are just all so forgettable.

Just stop.

Meh, I mean I'm also a huge fan of Aesop in general but I think the lyrics and beats on that album are spectacular just about throughout. It's mostly the lyrics that draw me to the album though. Aesop takes it a bit less esoteric while still keeping us on our toes, and it makes that album a delight to analyze and pick apart what he means with some of his statements. Idk how many times you've heard it but if it's less than 3, I'd recommend giving it one more at least. It's a really well-made album
No

Ay yo I made a chart

blond would be good if it didnt have lead vocals

>implying that list isn't a list of hot opinions, making the trip relevant

There's nothing good about this though.

>no beat drop
>no catchy tune
>no creativity
>no snare drums

Fuck off, this isn't even worth the wait

Some of my favs so far.

This is the only AOTY!!!

The Wilderness was so dissapointing tho. It sounded like a discount This Will Destroy You.

...

More like Pleb Opinion

I assumed you were joking, but this is just pathetic. Quit bitching
What are your main objections? What are some of your faves?

It's been seven years for me actually.

do you just ctrl+c ctrl+v this entire list every time one of these threads pop up?

...

The entire album just drops bomb after bomb like that.

Just got out of a long term relationship not too long ago, Self Control been hitting me pretty hard recently.

>Keep a place for me, for me
>I'll sleep between y'all, it's nothing

>I, I, I, Know you gotta leave, leave, leave
>Take down some summer time
>Give up, just tonight, night, night

hold me, Cred Forums

Give it a few more listens man. It defiantly grows on you.

Mah nigga

what user said, completely overlooked album

Not every time, just when I feel like contrasting my opinions with others or sparking conversation about any of the albums I've listened to thus far.
Fantastic album. Not sure why this place shits on it so much just because it's more accessible than his past work

La Dispute died a long time ago. Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair was a god damn masterpiece of hardcore music. I just did not care for their last album AT ALL. It was like spoken word or some shit.

Having said that, I liked Pup's album more than the new Touche album.

Also, Wildflower is the AOTY(SF). I'll admit I could give two giant turds about Frank Ocean. I gave his new album several listens, but it's just not my style of music whatsoever. I feel like it's music for a younger generation (I'm 28) and black people.

What does this sound like

Agreed. I was thrown off by the synths at first and hated it for it, but it's honestly one of their best records now that I've gotten into it

I think that's definitely its intended audience, but there's also a lot in it that can be picked out and related to by just about anyone. It's really a quite dense and introspective record

I haven't heard their new album, but theyre metalcore so alot of guitars going DUN DUN der der der DUN DUN. As with most bands like them, I only enjoy them live if I can mosh and get drunk or when I'm driving...this type of music always fits driving down the interstate for some reason.

This, no question.

I get that and I guess I'm being one of those "change is never good" people, but I just don't like the direction La Dispute took. In fact, I hate the direction they took as they used to be one of my favorite modern bands.

...

Oh I was talking about Blond

Fear and Trembling went straight to my /fit/ playlist. Like an adrenaline shot to the pee hole

Wabi Sabi is rly gud
people shit on it because it sounds awful and the lyrics are terrible; Will can't sing without effects and the drumming is abysmal

streets behind

yeah boy wabi sabi is amazing. and no one really talks about it, which is a shame.

what child abuse can do to a person

>Muh snare drums
>Muh beat drops

Fuck you Frank ain't trap music. And There's plenty of catchy melodies

>Is Daydreaming the saddest song of the year?
with ease

yes

this shit you fucking cretins

put a fucking gun in your mouth faggot

HOP OUT DROP TOP FUCK Y'ALL TALKIN I NEED IT RIGHT NOW

It hasn't really clicked with me yet
absolute amazing

This desu

only halfway through this album right now, but shit is so good..

On my mind is beautiful.
