I will almost unironically enjoy the shitty pop emo/rock that was huge it the mid 2000s. Basically it was my childhood's "punk" movement that was way less edgy, way more whiny and melodramatic because it was masked with the listeners being "emotional, deep, enlightened and misunderstood". Pretty sure all these fags grew up to be SJWs or nu males.
Are there any oldfags still digging for like disco, synthpop, rock opera etc?
eg of what I'm on about (I wholeheartedly enjoy this shit)
I enjoy a lot of shit that disses religion. No idea why, my "I wanna be an atheist" phase lasted like a month tops and that shit was at least 10 years ago. Plus I respect/don't care about most religions nowadays, so it's probably just my inner edge creeping back up.
Also I like Linkin Park and Pierce the Veil. Can't really defend myself on that last one, but I'd argue the first two Linkin Park albums are legitimately good.
Jace Parker
Bruh, everyone had a Linkin Park album. I myself have coped Hybrid and Meteora.
That's the problem with rock, it's always been edgy and cutting edge. While this has led to great shit the problem is when they try to commercialise it and for some reason it worked really really fucking well in the late 90s mid 2000s. You'd be insane to not realise that SOMEBODY made mad bank capitalising on insecure teenagers
Jayden Davis
evanescence isn't fucking death metal ffs
Caleb Flores
Hybrid theory is awesome, you kind of have to enjoy its goofiness
TIME IS A VALUABLE THING WATCH IT FLY BY AS THE PENDULUM SWINGS

I will admit *sometimes* when I feel like absolute shit I will put it on and take it 100% seriously. It really speaks to my dumbass 14 year old self in a good way.
Now however I absolutely cannot listen to crawling or In The End because of the fucking memes. Completely ruins the emotions when I start cracking up laughing
Alexander Perry
probably because subversive art is interesting art and it's otherwise boring as fuck to strictly fall in line with vanilla normie ideals on aesthetics. I can sympathize on the same point
Brayden Gonzalez
I know. That's the irony of that shitposter.
John Torres
I don't think there's anything wrong with that. What standards are you trying to conform to? Why feel ashamed that you've found music you connect with? If you like it everyone else can fuck off
Ethan Hill
I like PC Music
Caleb Barnes
I remember reading this comment someone posted here summarising Cred Forums or something.....lemme try remember it
>autists not forming opinions in fear of being judged by other autists
I think it went something like that. What amazes me now is even maybe 10 years ago you could be wearing a Fall Out Boy shirt or something and you thought they were the next big thing because they were popular. Now it's like you can do/listen to anything because of the internet hell I was listening to some 1930s era depression cowboy songs. It really fucking amazes me as to how much music there is floating around and the access we have to it now. Technology with music really fucking blows me away with it's capabilities..
Now with that said I wonder if people in like the 80s or something wore idk Electric Light Orchestra or Journey shirts thinking they were like edgy or something..
I unironically enjoy Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge and The Black Parade.
Nicholas Cook
I used to think The Black Parade and Green Day's American Idiot were the best concept albums of all time. Fuck that Queen/Dreamtheater shit amirite?
Zachary Sullivan
I don't think anyone has to call liking Linkin Park a soft spot. Meteora is one of the most slickly produced rock albums out there. It just sounds good. I imagine that someone who speaks no English might listen to it and think it was a masterpiece.
My personal softspot is for psychobilly. It's almost all cheesey and repetitive, but it just scratches an itch sometimes.
Joshua Phillips
to be fair dream theater is literally trash
Hudson Brooks
I wanted to say they had a couple good albums, but it's more like one good album(Scenes From a Memory) and a couple good songs. For the most part it's just glorified session musicians wanking.

Jonathan Reed
I like A Day to Remember.
