jim morrison is the correct answer

I must be the only guy that think Sufjan is really good

him or Rob Halford

Figure 8 may be one of his worst albums, but given that his entire discography sits well above his songwriting peers, I can't say it sucks. Although I generally consider everything from Either/Or and back to be his best.

Marcus Mumford

Casey Crescenzo is pretty damn amazing for a male singer.

Female: My girl Florence Welch

Sufjan isn't bad but it only suits the music he plays. he"s not like objectively good.

Dani Filth from Cradle of Filth is actually pretty good technically he just makes shitty music.

Freddy Mercury

>no Moz yet
Come on Cred Forums

R u fkn kiddin me. The much better answer is in the same fuckin band, Paul McCartney. Had range and style Lennon only dreamed of, honestly.

Don't care for her music, but Mariah Carey objectively has a singular voice and vocal range

I agree with Mike Patton. Though I fucking love Mark Lanegan and Nick Cave... And Nick Drake. But arguably some of these guys are only good because of their voice fitting their music.

Also, Bjork. And Fiona Apple. And PJ Harvey.

>PJ Harvey
especially when she sings in her lower register

george

Furdy Murrcury.

props to you guys for knowing that Newsom is the correct answer

Devin Townsend

josh homme post songs for the Deaf

they are shit but that doesnt change the fact he has a god tier voice

Dev doesn't even like singing.

...

I love you

This, his voice just has something to it that nobody else can touch.

Don't really listen to her music, but Florence from Florence and the machine has an incredible voice.

Ben Howard, maybe David Le'aupepe, Rob Grote
aka dudes i like listening to, probably not 'objectively superior' but there's feeling to them that i like

My personal pick would be Paul McCartney, honestly. Between The Beatles, Wings and his solo discography, the amount of different styles he could sing and his vocal range are seriously amazing.

I can't think of many other singers who could pull off high notes in chest voice like the outro of Hey Jude, and also hit the solid bass C of We All Stand Together (not a very good song overall) or the low A of The Girl is Mine.

And despite that, he rarely really showed off with his voice - most of his performances are pretty simple, just doing the song justice and not going over the edges.

That's actually a good answer, too. I know he gets a lot of flack on Cred Forums because Queen is mostly known for their, uh, campy pop music that never really tried to be deep, but he seriously had amazing pipes.

He's mostly known for all the "epic" Queen tracks where he'd deliver pseudo-operatic vocals, but I always adored his more minimalist, collected performances, on songs like I'm Going Slightly Mad, Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

A lot of Queen songs have surprisingly wide range for the vocals, but you barely notice because Freddie would make them sound like the most natural thing in the world to sing, like he wasn't even trying.

Eh. He had an amazing voice, don't get me wrong, but I don't feel like he had very much range in term of different singing styles. I don't think he could really pull off heavier rockers quite like Mike Love did with All I Want To Do or Carl with Wild Honey.

personal favs are Björk, Blixa Bargeld, Sean Bonnette aaaand John Galm

I really enjoy Fiona Apple and Jeff Buckley. Just to add, I barely listen to their music though. But I know they have amazing talent. Axl Rose is up there too.

Paul McCartney's range is nothing special.

The ending of Hey Jude sounds like shit lol.

ne NEE NEEE

Neil young or Ian masters for me

Marilyn Manson, Justin Timberlake, Chris Cornell, Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, and Ronnie James Dio

Stephen Malkmus

morrissey, lou reed, late 60's stephen stills

Saw Sunn O))) live and I would say it's Csihar Attila currently

Björk and Thom Yorke have the best voices I've heard.

Jamie Stewart also

Yeah, Mike Patton is literally, scientifically, objectively, the best. This should be more of a personal thread

If I could sing like either Neil Young, John Lennon, or Soof I would be sooooo happy

I hate mike's patton nerdy voice

Gene Ween

talk about an amazing range.
Guy can do anything from country to big band to ska.

>Only once Blixa
Here's a second. Blixa Bargeld
