/daily/ vintage edition

***IF YOU'RE NEW, AND WOULD LIKE TO JOIN, READ THIS FIRST!***

It's the 2nd of October.

The point of these threads, is to encourage people to look for new and interesting music. We do this, by listening to, and ideally, discussing albums we've never heard before. Many of us already listen to new music daily, these people are in it to venture out of their comfort zone by listening to albums they otherwise wouldn't have, or just to have a good time.
We track our progress using calendars, which we fill with the albums we listen to on each day, and a rating of some sort for all of them. There are templates in the following posts. We encourage you to write the albums' titles, and the artists' names somewhere on your calendar. We don't have any tools for creating these calendars, we use simple image editing softwares.

You can predetermine a schedule for a month, or you can report back on whatever album you randomly picked every day. Many of us make our schedules interesting in various way, popular ones being genre restrictions, new releases, and recs from the /daily/ community.

We used to do listen alongs, but we don't really have the time anymore. For this, we had a plug.dj room, which we still use occasionally to hang out for a little while. It's usually empty, so if you want to spend a little time there, post in the thread, there most likely will be someone up for it. You can find it here:
>plug.dj/some-dumb-plug-dj-community/

In case plug.dj is not working, we have a backup wavelength room. You can find that here:
>wavelength.fm/stripey's

The threads usually start around 16:00 GMT. Anyone can start the threads, but usually one of /daily/'s dedicated trips starts them. If the thread is not yet up by 16:30 GMT, we encourage you to start it, just be sure to use the standard OP. Of course you can start it earlier than that too.

Most importantly, have fun!

It's the 2nd of October.

While Darklands takes forever to rec me smth for the tourney, I decided to clear some backlog. If anyone has nothing to do, please look through it and rec smth I should check out.
Note: I am not deleting anything, no matter how shitty it is (gotta maintain that curve). I am, however, taking recs.

when you say 'new music' do you mean literally just albums/artists you haven't listened to or do you mean completely new styles you haven't heard before?
if you mean the former, who the fuck doesn't listen to 'new music' every day?
do they just listen to the albums they've already heard a thousand times brie

one more month until NBBMN :^)

...

Tank god we changed it

Thanks!

who /cesspool/ here?

>do they just listen to the albums they've already heard a thousand times brie
im p sure that would be the case for most people, that or no albums at all. that aren't nerds but of course

idk anymore, seems like daily has worked out its own collective comfort zone over the last few years which was of course inevitable but goes against the idea but what can you do? and why try?

you could argue the point of these threads, is to hold open a door for our third spaces plug, discord, (skype) as a bit of a social outlet, or the thread itself but it's not as comfy

im also p sure if your goal was to listen to every style ever once you could do it in a month

Yeah well I'm still stuck in the ooolde days of snapchat when the entire point was you sent worthless shit to everyone on your list. I hate the new story stuff and whatever, so I always just go through my list and send most snaps to everyone or at least everyone listed under "recently".

lmao hampus is an old person that doesn't understand technology
bahahahahahaaha

but that's literately how snapchat works
who the fuck actually picks out who you send snaps too

lonely people

Blue m&m snaps are underrated
That said, I actually agree with Hampus, I always thought snapchat was for the mundane stuff to be shared. It's just kind of fun that way

what a trip seeing this again

So okay, Opeth just wasn't for me I think. Or at least not Deliverance. Hoping to give their 2016 release a listen tonight and have it change my mind though.

follow me on instagram

Started a calendar, don't know how far I'll get with it.
>Scott Walker - Sings Jacques Brel
A compilation of Jacques Brel songs Scott had covered here and there in his records, and a second attempt at getting into him. 'Sings Jacques Brel' is basically the reason I decided to listen to this, thinking I would at least enjoy his essence in the songs, which I guess I did. Unfortunately, I have an issue with this record which is Scott. Since he sings in English and lacks the strength and passion Brel has in his voice, so both lyricism and delivery are somewhat lost here, while the arrangements stay quite faithful to the original, offering nothing nothing new and nothing better. I suppose if you're a fan of Scott you then might find something interesting in this collection, but for me it was basically wanting to be listening to the original instead.

I sincerely hope none of you have paid for a Cred Forums pass.

I didn't write the OP, but I think for most people it used to be the former.
>who the fuck doesn't listen to 'new music' every day?
I'd assume a lot actually, especially when they lack time. I know I don't really listen to new stuff every day (sometimes I listen to a few favorites I already know well instead) since I've been stopping making calendars.

>tfw you're content with not listening to new music
It's slowly kicking back but yeah, some days I just don't feel it.

I don't have a reason to desu, my mid range pc boots up in like 5 seconds and file tranfers are around 30mbps onto my usb.

that makes no sense
that jew would never buy a Cred Forums pass

>Australia (5%)
I'm much more concerned with this desu.

I don't even hate it I just think it's lame now.

>spending so much time on Cred Forums that buying a pass becomes viable
>paying money to have Hiro sell your data to Google

embarrassing

Listening to Slime Girls now, thanks for the rec this is comfy.

speaking of meme albums, since it's a /daily/ holiday I thought it would be nice to celebrate by releasing the stems (and some demos) of arrayed. thought it would be fun to maybe make the album art together by choosing a square and doing that thing Cred Forums did with lauren

if we get enough takers, that is. it's just stems after all (each block should be 400x400)

>All those Canadians

If you don't have a Cred Forums pass I'm afraid I can't help you

I'm down for it, I'll do something with something.
I just have to think what.

My record vendor has an OG Modern Lovers LP for $60 that I have to fucking look at every time I go there.

My tourney is ded if Aqam doesn't rec an album....
alternatively two other guys can rec albums, then tilt, then the winner will be inserted in there nice and smooth like

Kjeld - Skym
Yeah man, at points it rips but at others it's pretty dull

the cyrillic one recd by Letov
something was a little off about this one, didn't have any really great moments, it was not bad but kinda meh

Seaside Love - Memories in Beach House
It's funny to me that stuff like this was legitimately enjoyed way back in the 80s and is only tolerable now due to retro-futurism, like before that was a thing what was this music
In short, it's nothing mind-blowing, but I quite enjoyed it...

Keith Hudson and the Soul Syndicate - Nuh Skin Up
Can get around this, whoda thought that shoegaze dub would work so well (*knowing glance to the corner of my room where there is a fisman cd sitting on the shelf, it's not an ok comparison to make but fuck you dude...*)
really fun

need recs from Transgod and Triangle

ILL REC DADDY

>holding the demos hostage until /daily/ participates in your memery
this is sdc levels of cruelty

I've failed

you could always just go to his RYM and pick out the top album of his you haven't heard. Wouldn't be too hard considering he only has 100-so albums above 3.5

nvm i did not read well
i just wanted to make a part of the picture

...

nah man, that'd take effort on my behalf, I like being spoonfed

Scientists - Weird Love (1986)
>punk blues, garage punk, post-punk

Really dirty, scuzzy, and raw, but sometimes a bit too jarringly poppy. This isn't too shocking, considering the Scientists first LP was a Buzztones/Undertones-esque power pop punk record, but this style fits in poorly with the really scuzzy blues sound they're going for on this album. Luckily, this isn't too prominent, and if you remove this aspect the rest of the album is badass. "Swampland" is the big highlight, it's got such a catchy hook and sound but it's still so damn sinister sounding, the juxtaposition works perfectly. A bit redundant, but very good nonetheless.

maybe this year, but probably not

2 good picks for the first 2 days of Blacktober:

>Toumani Diabaté - The Mande Variations (2008)
Amazing dreamy Kora ballads & delicate arpeggios; sounds medieval somehow (a bit similar to the luth?!). No afrobeat or highlife influences here: if you like Fahey, Basho, etc. give it a try ;)

>Sirina Issah - Cheers The Stars (199X)
Upbeat Afro-dance-pop from Ghana with juvenile choruses on super-cheap synth beats. Quite funny and easily enjoyable despite the lo-fi production. Grabbed at Awesome Tapes From Africa.

Spanish producer, from the underground scene of Madrids techno just released an LP on his recently self made label. I'm still digging into the LP, it's perfectly balanced and has nice textures and colours.

This is true introspective stuff, the type of music that takes you on a trip, just fucking listen to it. Dig into Milton Bradley for more mind bending genius, specially his acid jams under the alias of "Alien Rain".

Can't really be arsed to keep posting, let me know of you like these posts.

More Milton Bradley, cause it's absolutely stunning

Ok cool thanks.

all music is world music

Good Night /daily/!

Give me suggestions on what to listen tomorrow in the morning, I'll pick something from those. Preferably a 2016 album.

lolno.

>live in world
>music you make is not world music
hmmm....

You're literally retarded if you think that's how the term is used.

>world music
get out pretender hampus

but if I use it like that then it's how it's used

The Dead C - Trouble

Well, you missed a good song, right mate?
When it comes to world music I'm really into Huun Hur Tuu, any rec?

Can confirm, I am the real hampus.

fucc off

You really fucking suck at quoting. Sure, it's how it used, but not in any way by a majority of (native) speakers. Do you think English is like ULTRAFRENCH with their academie francaise to control how people use the language? lmao get out of here and read a book

I recommend looking at some pictures of Jacques Soustelle.

if hiroshima axes muh niche boards ill be ass blasted as can be
no big boards are worth a squat bar a few generals

>but not in any way by a majority of (native) speakers

youtube.com/watch?v=Fe4VnIIgox4

discogs.com/es/Dokument-Dokument/release/703960

Dok-U-Ment

That Hampus guys is really pretentious right? Doesn't seem to have a clue when it comes to electronic. Techno is fucking amazing and if you aren't into it it's okay, but you can find LOTS of experimental stuff that goes way beyond all the IDM Cred Forums drones

to vinter:
cronicaelectronica.org/?p=cronicaster_arc

There's literally nothing wrong with the term world music. 1) everyone knows what the term means 2) it's used commonly by native speakers 3) it's much more likely that whomever you try to communicate will understand what you mean if you say world music instead of "folk music" or "traditional music".

This isn't the real hampus. If he were, he'd make at least one post with his trip to verify himself.

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/woods/city-sun-eater-in-the-river-of-light/

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/pinegrove/cardinal/

Those are two fun 2016 releases to listen to :)

>you can find LOTS of experimental stuff that goes way beyond all the IDM Cred Forums drones
lmao who the fuck said anything to the contrary?

Don't try to package that shit as an acceptable term, it's colonialist as fuck

...

Shit, I'm reading a bit into the guy, what a figure. Did you like that last song I posted?
I can show you some labels and artist to get into avant-garde industrial right away.

youtube.com/watch?v=LRz3bDnPWag

youtube.com/watch?v=gzxwpv7opaE

(this one si nto industrial per se, but it's fucking amazing)
youtube.com/watch?v=2cEi863oeyk

(hampus also doesn't capitalise his name)

I hope hiroyuki deleted /asp/, that board is garbage. Nothing but pro wrestling threads and a nice skateboarding general that gets WWE spam
I also want Cred Forums gone so the insane baneposting gets diffused everywhere and dies
Sondre held up, whew. What lost you in revisiting Let's Eat Grandma? I agree it's not amazing as a whole

It's just good communication. Just use the same terms people do, don't obfuscate meaning with "more correct" jargon that people won't understand unless it's necessary for the context (e.g. precise writing in scientific papers, scholarly journals, etc.)

Have for the last month-ish or so.

wow robert fripp sure is upset

sometimes he does, just to fuck with people

Well now I don't really think whether there's something right or wrong with the term world music, I just want to make my own term. So long as I get enough people to use it it should be fine. It would be nice if you helped me and didn't use the term like that anymore.
I'll look into that book also. I'm close to finishing this Greek mythology one.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to reply to your post. I don't know the stuff you posted, so I can't rec anything on that basis.
Do you have a chart of favourites I can give you recommendations based on?

>I just want to make my own term
Yeah but you see, I don't give a flying fuck :^)

I realised there's a lot of wack songs and moments, even if there are great ones too (rapunzel, treehouse part ii). I'm still hyped about what they will do next though.

sondre is very good, the production is especially smooth as hell and the songs have a special inspiring warmth to them. still have to check into the guy's other work but im lazy.

Doubt much is getting deleted. At best a few merged or some of the newer ones gone again. He should for starters get rid of the site archive, because who the fuck doesn't use external ones already with ten times as many options. Also limiting filesizes won't do much harm either. But I really can't see how Cred Forums can be doing that bad if he has been doing nothing but opening new boards and Cred Forums's user base keeps increasing.

>it's literally the 2nd of october

That's rude now when I go to bed I will cry.

>obfuscate meaning with the "more correct" jargon
genres imply commonality, "world music" as a descriptor for a type of music is a misnomer based on the sheer amount of variety
also why is it acceptable to separate western music based upon better descriptive terms but lump all the traditional music of any non-white culture regardless of differences, seems a bit racist

it's Charles Gocher

>angerey

so it's kenneth anger then?

It's always the second of October on daily.
But I agree, today is special.

kbye

>genres imply commonality
Nope.
>"world music" as a descriptor for a type of music is a misnomer based on the sheer amount of variety
Nope.
>also why is it acceptable to separate western music based upon better descriptive terms but lump all the traditional music of any non-white culture regardless of differences, seems a bit racist
Why is it okay to lump together all classical music? Why is it okay to lump together all rock? etc.

Words don't hold any meaning apart from their usage. World music is used to denote traditional folk musics (including white folk music, you dweeb) and is a term which has much wider spread and mutual intelligibility compared to any other term people try to use to denote the same. You can be more precise if you want, but that's not always the goal and absolutely not always necessary.

Read a book and stop posting ugly reaction images.

its the best day for shitposting

posting in shit thread

Who gives a shit about half of that, to most listeners a word to discern music from outside their cultural hemisphere is useful. That's all that matters.

board deleting is an awful idea as far as im aware, you delete a big one and you spill their cancer all over, you delete a small hobby board and you destroy a rare place on this site where any kind of quality discussion happens.

He should just go for more ads to extract shillings from the tech illiterate and set up donations.

That's what I do.
Me too.

No, for the last year I'm focusing on LP's. That way I can find more frequent content from artists and labels, everything comes up faster and sometimes you can't even catch up from the legions of producers and artists.

I'm mostly into electronic, specially industrial, ambient and techno. I also listen to a lot of jazz, Zeuhl and prog rock.

Also if you have some dub I would be eternally grateful, I listen to stuff like Techno Animal, Basic Channel (Rhythm and Sound too ofc), Steve O'Sullivan...

Dub like this, oh man, I love this stuff.
youtube.com/watch?v=8b7fxfZwDv0

Just anything man, anything you've been digging lately, check out Rhythm and Sound if you are into dub tho.

This one's going to the EP off

Auktyon - Ptiza
Quite good, really kinda funky, bit dubby, nice job Fish

Deity Guns - Trans Lines Appointment
Wasn't crazy on the first half, the second half hit me hard though, jesus christ it rips

both of you gibe eps

I CANNOT PROCEED FURTHER BECAUSE AQAM IS A SHIT
2 OF YOU REC AN ALBUM SO I CAN REPLACE HIM

I don't think too many ads, intrusive or even 'malicious' ones as he called them are a good idea, as they're basically what made adblockers appear and what made them popular. If instead of a banner-like ad at the top and bottom of the page you had six windows open when you enter Cred Forums, then you might actually do something about it. There's people with adblockers even that whitelist Cred Forums (myself included) but will stop to do so with malicious or intrusive ads.

>we're both in the same boat buddy :)

false

I can say I tried to make it better, posting music

Two of us? If so reserving :^)

I would agree but didn't hiro disable ads not long ago anyway since the money they were getting in was pitiful? Also yeah def not malicious ads but more why not if it'll help.

Check out Traumprinz's Giegling mix, phenomenal atmospheric and soulful house. People are going crazy with this one.

youtube.com/watch?v=hiAkdoETqNA

There is literally nothing wrong with deleting a trash board like Cred Forums or Cred Forums.
>muh containment board spill over

And? Delete off-topic content that doesn't belong and in a few weeks they'll get bored and leave. It's a non-issue.

i got into 2 EP-offs in 2 turns
is this a new high score
(i'm gonna think about the next rec for a bit now)

nyeaah, have you got a trip and are you going to stick around for more than one thread, how am I going to know it's you?

Check out the first 15 mins and let me know, man. Cheers

I started casually lurking in the cancer era but when I really started shitposting was in 2013 or so.

Do you like Charles Mingus?
Yes, more ads might give more money to the page. So what I really don't understand is why disable them as they currently are (were) if they provide income, small as it might be.

can we all stop arguing I am clearly hampus

holy fuck these fucking ties are killing me lately. Can't people just let me lose
rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/the_birthday_party/the_bad_seed/

I don't know man, I'm not getting much out of this thread, It's my first thread here and all I'm doing is post music. I only got feedback from you.

If I see this thread sometime in the future I'll post the cover and check if you liked it.

Pinegrove - Carinal

pls let me in ily also here's a mem

>he doesn't know sdc doesn't listen to that garbo anymore

how do you ask a girl to smell her armpits in a respectful way

I was posting on mu sort of mid 2013 in metal threads and shit like that, but turned 18 last year, joined daily end of last year guess trip

Yeah! I'm into all that crazy Koenjihyakkei style of jazz.
Okay I'll be this namefag for the time being

I don't know anything about any namefag or tripfag, and to be honest this thread is getting me frustrated.

Desu was still pretty popular when I started posting.

I'm enjoying it so far, it's really quite relaxing, but the point of a tournament is competing against other people and you need some sort of identifier to do so (otherwise any ol' jagov can recommend something passing as anonymous)

The bacon narwhals at midnight

I'm electroboscope, since I'm all about that electronic music.

Do either Please or heartbeat radio next

Wow, I can't really do much.
I'll just say that I think Even Oxen and Let's Eat Grandma have our out some of the most curious music I've heard this year.
Also, Good Friend Rodriguez can help you with ambient, look for him

le

No idea what a koenjihyakkei is, but a Mingus fan is a friend. Favorite records? His solo piano record is quite good if you haven't heard it yet.

That's because daily is kinda different. You have to know the trips and the people in here, give recs when they ask for them and post memes. Usually you won't get many answers to an anonimously posted album.

>Jean-Jacques Perrey - The Amazing New Electronic Pop Sound of Jean-Jacques Perrey
Patrish as fuck my nigga

Mingus and Koenjihyakkei aren't even remotely similar. How can you browse /dailyavantmeme/ and not know Koenjihyakkei?

i had to leave for a bit, so if this is still open

Soft Cell - Non Stop Erotic Cabaret

no bully pls

>koenjihyakkei

more weebshit that belongs in the trash bin with fishmans, the rest of japanese zeuhl, and geinoh yamashirogumi

Well I saw it posted around but it seemed like one of those lame ass records you listen to so I didn't pay much attention.

Fair enough.

I'm sorry you're feeling this way. Do you have a rym or something similar?

>Even Oxen
>Let's Eat Grandma
I'll check those asap, right now I'm listening to cause I recommended it and it's phenomenal.
I can't find that Rodriguez guy, can you link me to his discogs or something?
No haven't!, will do. Are you a Django Reinhardt fan too? cause I got a mate if you are

Now I have this name, but I don't think I'll be a regular to these threads. You guys are cool desu, and tha'ts hard to find on mu

my rec for the EP off
rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/polvo/celebrate_the_new_dark_age/

>I can't find that Rodriguez guy
He's a trip that usually posts in here. Here's his rym

rateyourmusic.com/~StuffRodHeardAfterAugust

>I can't find that Rodriguez guy, can you link me to his discogs or something?
Lol
He posts here! Just keep an eye out, he's also on RYM as stuffrodheardsinceaugust (or something like that)

alrighty we in bidness

fuck

Be sure to listen to the extended version of it

Getting the hang of things, just got a name.

mate, they make me feel the same way.

Just a recap, I rec these:
I'm all about inudstrial, ambient and techno. Dub and jazz too.

Damn right! Two nukes weren't enough!
>Are you a Django Reinhardt fan too?
Short answer, no strong opinion yet.
I listened to 'the best of Django Reinhardt' a long time ago and then I was mostly put back because of the recording quality. I haven't really given it more tries despite really getting into jazz after all, but 'recently' a Django track appeared on a blindfold thread and I quite liked the violinist, so lately I have been listening to a bunch of Stéphane Grappeli (he on the other hand has a lot of records, with good recording quality also). So now I'm decided to give more listens to Django but I have to wait for this to download on soulseek: rateyourmusic.com/release/comp/django_reinhardt_and_stephane_grappelli/the_quintessential_django_reinhardt_and_stephane_grappelli__le_quintette_du_hot_club_de_france__25_classics_1934_1940/

opinions on punk "music"?

the only good rock music made post-1970 is related to punk in some way or another

Now this is a dank minimal synth album
muh dense muffled synths, love em

btw if anyone knows abums that are similar atmosphere wise to Half Machine Lip Moves recc me. I love the feel of that one more than the actual album.

not le again

only good genre objectively

I also feel like I should go in depth about the blindfold threads, they might interest you. If you're familiar with the Downbeat magazine the concept is pretty much the same, listen to jazz tracks with all metadata stripped and make guesses and discoveries, but especially have a good time. We have them every Friday and though there's not that many anons, it's all music discussion and the threads have a very good atmosphere. Everybody is welcome.

That's a lot of stuff man, I'll check all of those up.
SAT Stoicizmo is fucking genious from what I'm hearing right now. I love Esplendor Geométrico btw, just so you know I'm a true head.

I'll look into it, thanks.

I'm mostly a lurker, I spend the majority of my time searching for labels and producers. I don't really talk much besides some awesome /bleep/ threads that sometimes happen.

yes
I f'ed up that intro cause my friend was being a jackass in the studio

Perfect, thank you.

What do you like to listen to? I owe you a rec.

strawpoll.me/11351129

>Oh cool, I've only been away for a few hours and there are 120 new posts
>It's just another hampus flaming episode
Daily why

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

I humbly apologize to all involved

change of plans, Album off still a go, winner is officially taste king OTT, Aqam is back in the tourney, and no longer on the shit list

If you and others reported his posts like I've recommended, you wouldn't have this problem.

>I don't like thing
>Instead of responding rationally I'm just going to report it
Why didn't we think of it sooner

Because you people get upset about the darndest things?

i forgive u, hope you enjoy mills
this isn't hampus

>literally breaking the rules every time he posts
>hurr durr why would you report

Nevermind. You deserve him.

>Esplendor Geométrico
Mi hombre.
Also no pressure, you can drop in the threads if you like to have a good time. I personally don't even always make it to them as I'd like.
Also I'm not really into bleeps, but if you want to recommend any labels (bleep or not) I'll have a look at their catalog tomorrow possibly.
It was boring. I thought it could be some fun. It was some fun at least.

But it is.

I'm technically "ban evading" every time I post, so yeah I am prime ban material because of janitor-kun 2012.

The score for the second round:
1) Torts (8~)
2) s / Darklands (7+)
3) Rudi (7~)

Overall score:
1) Torts
2) s
3) Darklands
4) Rudi

Sorry, Darklands, you were really super close to a tie.

Bet reminder (they are no more accepted):
1) Torts (Thomas, s, Darklands)
2) s (Jimmy Jazz, Jangle)

Can I bet on Terminus?

Hey Aqam, have you heard Skeleton Three? Any thoughts if so?
I'm on my phone and going to bed soon, mind if I give a rec sometime tomorrow afternoon?

No problem at all

OHH BOY, if you are into industrial, there is a whole new wave of industrial techno right now. It's fucking brutal. Check these songs out and let me know.

garbage

Jeff Mills - Waveform Transmission Vol.1
Some nice trax on this piece, but same issue as with Drexciya: think this guy can do much cooler stuff.

Jeremy - So Peaceful
Ehh. It sounds okay, but it's hardly anything remarkable.

can someone tell me if my stream is up? I think it went down sometime during the show
fuck this shitty radio station

not garbage

slayer's p good.

if you're talking about skeleton tree then no, is it good?

hi

It's usually pretty fun to read, there've been better episodes tho

>I rec'd aqam Mills a month ago
>Now my own rec will defeat me in a tourney
my hubris is to be my downfall

true

ITS OKTOBER AND I AM BACK
after a month+ break of music
i am listening to the new danny brown album and really enjoying it
i need to catch up with some fresh albums off this year, any recs?

I disagree with you, Master of Puppets and Orion are fucken bangers,it's an easy opinion to hold but they really went downhill after they dropped ...And Justice for All (which was my favorite album for a LONG fucking time before discovering Tool and getting really deep into prog metal, still have a soft spot for it even though Ride the Lightning is the superior album)
listen to Ride the Lightning
thanks for illuminating a blind spot in my RYM r8s, gonna go through and pan some albums I no longer like
I agree with this wholeheartedly

Who are you?
Newtrip?

It's not playing for me

playing for me
I hear weird drumming

do the EPs you flippin' hack

best character

oh boi waddup, hows the uni going?

fuck this shitty ass connection
we really need a goddamn technology officer

well I tried re configuring it again hopefully this time it sticks

Well I love what some people might refer to as 'pure industrial' in that I really like the harsh, metallic sounds and all that noise. I think early neubauten really embodies that well.
I don't know anything about industrial techno really since I haven' looked into it, thought that like other industrial subgenres, it didn't have to do much with it, the term has been used for a lot. But I'm open to giving it a try, I'll check those out tomorrow mornin'

Save at least the title track

FAR from it.

Great, let me know tomorrow. are you "s"?
I'll go to sleep now too. Also I agree, with you, industrial per se is broad.

Yes, skeleton tree. I personally love it, among my five favorites of his and I don't consider that an easy decision.
But I don't really know how much you are into late Cave, so it depends. The sound is pretty close to push the sky away, but darker, more elaborated, overall much better imo. Worth a try at least.

holy shit
its October second and I almost missed the thread
gimme recs I've listened to barely anything
rateyourmusic.com/~caviarrr

>Cred Forums passes on sale
>It keeps giving me impossible to solve captchas
hm
gn daily
ye it's me, I'll post something in tomorrow's thread along with the calendar

...

rec me one you friggen guppie
I will throw a boomerang all the way to Iowa I swear to god

I KNEW AUSTRALIANS WERE DUMB BUT I AT LEAST THOUGHT THEY COULD READ

Nah man, foyt me, that's some fucko named I'M HAMPUS
clearly not I'M FISH

I'll bet it's k-poop mfw

listen to this if you like minimal synth thats more in the ambient direction. Its only growing on me and fast, something about it feels special. Might have to write something up on it tomorrow.

it's pretty gud so far. my schedule of work and sleep is a mess though
spaggeddy

It's 5am I need sleep

i know that too well
night time is best time anyway, sleeping is for nerds.

I slacked off and now I have a giant backlog.
Also, I'm now trying to get up to date on my sludge metal and downloaded new stuff of the bands I already have in my folders.

Getting a quick powertrip in before the thread is over.

Ground-Zero looks like your kind of thing

Did you at least like The Great Hen-Yuan River and Icy Madeleine?

You should listen to this, it's jazz rock with Tuvan throat signing. Stupid but fun.

hartyga.bandcamp.com/

Listen to The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, almost everyone likes that album.

rateyourmusic.com/release/album/reinbert_de_leeuw/gnossiennes__gymnopedies__ogives__trois_sarabandes__petite_ouverture_a_danser/

What's 0000?

Stuff that isn't music but still stuff I need to read or listen to.

Shame, I thought there might be a chance something in your backlog isn't fucking garbage.

...

nothing great came out this year that im aware of
but
>bonnie made a better album than dannie

How do I stop being a mu/p4k/Fantano drone? I've been here for too long and I don't know how to detach

Develop an extensive interest in Albanian folk dance and pretend it's high brow as fuck.

haha thats our hampus :)

Why do you feel the need to not be a drone?

Chance is, if you're already a drone, you simply have the personality of a sheep. And sheep need their shepherd.

So I made the chart from your recs and filled the rest with random.

Muslimgauze - Return Of Black September
I like Bryn Jones a lot. This piece is p fine, seemed a bit lifeless to me tho.

Voiski - Go Play Your Games
Ehh. Even more lifeless disoriented house-ish techno. If I didn't know some other stuff by this guy I'd be assuming this is some not very talented hack, but he can do better.

already formed a chart, but will keep that in mind

drone me instead

Actually consistently listen to the kind of things they rec and you'll get bored of them soon enough

Or just start droning Scruffy. It's the next logical step
>Why do you feel the need to not be a drone?
Simply too obvious bait

find ur own music and listen to it
for instance I found out about geinoh yamashirogumi's ecophony gaia through a vaporwave sample and found that its so fucking meh
turns out a lot of people here like it

>I found out about geinoh yamashirogumi's ecophony gaia through a vaporwave sample and found that its so fucking meh
No dammit, you said it yourself, you went in expecting blank banshee and got something very different
It's a great record I think, almost as good as his AKIRA soundtrack

preoccupations, nicholas jaar, Ka, Massive Attack

>It's the next logical step
no it would be a step he's already taken sold with a different flavor
see: Cred Forums = huge clusterfuck of collective taste and distaste, nearly unpredictable thus unreliable. why believe it? -> p4k = dissent is smaller and actually kept from their web presence, more easily predictable thus reliable -> fantano = it's one guy, a fact that basically solves those problems, you can follow the development of his opinions, but he's still just a blogger, like piero
so all of those have one major flaw, as you're solely a recipient of their opinions. you can't talk to them. well you can try but 99 outta 100 cases you're only gonna get ignored or memed on
then there's me: down to earth guy that's even gonna adapt his recommendations to your personal taste, and there can be a dialogue look i'll even add you on skype and snap!

point being Cred Forums arent real people, everyone is memegenerator

>then there's me: down to earth guy that's even gonna adapt his recommendations to your personal taste, and there can be a dialogue
That's all of daily tho
>look i'll even add you on skype and snap!
U a thirsty nigga huh

>That's all of daily tho
obviously, but lowkey no one else has taste

I have taste in french anthropologists and politicians tbqh.

>strong wind outside crashing at my windows and overturning half the shit laying around the neighborhood the sound of which bleeds in with the minimal synth im playing
what a fucking dank ambiance
