I've used AMD exclusively for 8 years,switched to i7-6700k and a GTX 1080 a month ago and i'm honestly underwhelmed. AMD just seems a lot more worth it. I literally feel like i threw my money in the trash. Also the temperatures are much higher,then again the max temps are higher as well. Doesn't feel that good regardless. Switching from a FX - 6300 to an i7 6700k literally gave no FPS improvements anywhere other than on KSP,major let down.
GTX 1080 is good but it's such a trash card when i look at how much i paid for it,the gaming quality is definitely superb,though,no wonder it's the strongest card on the market. I'm waiting for Vega,though. I'll probably use the Vega more because of Dx 12/Vulkan.

Nah didn't over clock it. I know over clocking it will improve performance to an extent but with what I play there really is no need to. I built it last year with thoughts of not needing to touch anything for at least two years and even then just the ram and video card.

I've seen the vram gnarling games but never had that issues. Arkham Knight isn't the best example since that was a combination of piss poor porting and vram issues but I never had had a problem with performance on the game.

The mobo I used has 2 GPU controllers, so its makes use of all four cards, that being said the four card setup is the one part of the build I regret, could have done 95% as well with two 780s and then upgraded. Hindsight and all.

One tends to run a little warmer than the others but other than that it runs well. I have yet to find a game that can make it choke. Even Star citizens alpha runs 60+ fps single player, less multi because of servers side issues dumping literally the entire systems worth of data to every client, but that should work out in a couple patches.
