So found out my girl was hanging out (cheating) with some guy. I found his xbox and iphone at my house a while back and destroyed them for fun. Last night I saw the guy driving, followed him, and proceeded to kick the shit out of him.

Now he is threatening to press charges if I don't replace the xbox and iphone. I told him I would in a couple weeks thinking his bruises will go away by then and he can't press charges anymore. Now he is saying he wants it in writing that I'm going to replace his shit.

Question is: is that blackmail if he has me sign something? What is my best course of action? Let him call the cops and probably get a misdemeanor on my record?

Other legal question: how much trouble can I get for filling up his gastank with sugar?

I imagine its been several day already and assuming you didn't leave him in the hospital or almost kill him, then more likely than not, the cops aren't really gonna give a shit about it, its just a scuffle between two dudes and the loser wants to press charges.
Even if cops take the case, at no point speak to them, just lawyer up.
In the event that they present the case to the prosecutors office your county, they will have to make the decision to accept and issue a warrant for your arrest. If you already have a lawyer he can probably negotiate with the DA's office or cop to give you a heads up if you get a warrant so you can turn yourself in, get booked, and bond out in a matter of hours.
