Pro teams dont really bank on it no. But they are highly effective mechs, even without the ECM. Still strong in comp for that fear factor and the fact that the brawler cant be seen on radar until its in your back.
And the fact that half of ECM mechs are small and fast makes it hard to pin them down. In fact the single best mech in the game doesnt have ECM on any variant. Its the only mech in the game where every variant has been in tier 1 of the meta since inception, bar the 2 weeks one variant was in top of tier 2 due to a bad hardpoint. Which became a good hardpoint and went back to tier 1 with a hotfix.
