How do you make a living in the winter, assuming you're not in Arizona or someplace like that.

What is tha blue and red console you're playing with in the pic. Where's the screen for it? The box is quite impressive, shows that it needs lot of cooling for the processors.

Wage/hr?

How COOL are you?

LOL

What kind of life preserver do you wear to keep from drowning in all the pussy?

Lost

Are newer units more efficient than older models ? How so and is it worth investing in a new unit ?

does ur job suck or blow?

I live in a tropical area with winter being 25 lowest,so aircond all year long

Air conditioning tech? Man, you must be cool to be around

Why the fuck do you charge so much?

How many techs do you know who are just parts changers and don't know how to troubleshoot ?

pic isn't me,and that's a gas refrigerant meter

Air pressure gauge of some kind.

What should I use to clean my evaporator coil?

Whats your job?

there's a shit load of them, most of them don't know what the fuck they're dealing with most of the time

Cum Rag will work

I have emptied about 8 air conditioning units of their freon to huff at my old apartment complex because the hallucinations were amazing and realistic. How expensive is this? Sometimes they wouldnt know the issue until I told them maybe it needed more freon (called in the free repair guy a few times mysef and just acted like it was someone else getting away with it)
How common is it to find units that have been tampered with for huffing?
Never got caught though I think I almost froze my lungs a few times.

a kind of chemical that my boss won't tell me what's In it,if the burns dusts but leaves the coil shiny new

What is the most broken part / what do you need to fix most in your job?

And more important: is this part fixable for a rookie or do I actually need to call your kind to fix it?

Please reply to me. Yeah everytime id empty my own unit and fuck my AC up the repair guy would never fix it until i mentioned it needed more freon. They would do a bunch of shit and not be able to figure it without my suggestion except maybe once or twice.

Please reply to me I wanna how expensive freon is and if you've ever had experience fixing any units you could tell had been tampered with by someone huffing?
Havent done it in over a year and am glad I didnt fucking die

How do you adjust superheat on a Trane?

honestly you're the first guy I've seen having hallucinations after huffing r410a or r22 refrigerant gas

Do you ever ask to go inside to use the restroom but instead steal the ladies underwear?

Favorite film? Fav animated series? Fav ice cream flavor? Fav food? How big is your wiener? Do you prefer furry or shaved vagina? Fav music genre? Fav youtuber? Fav vidya? On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest how would you rate your looks?

OP how come my car doesn't keep blowing cold air when it's idling

How's the pay?

Why the game so damn breezy? My niggas like, where are you yeezy?

What are your fetishes? Do you eat the Booty? Do ladies really love a man in uniform?

it's actually easier than it looks if you know what you're doing to change stuff, but may require training or you will cut yourself all over

Flashing lights lights lights lights!

Not op but i'm also a tech. it's a Guage Manifold set. It tells you the pressure of the refrigerant(freon) inside the unit to see if it has the correct charge.

Seriously? Id just hold it in and have full blown entity contanct that I could interact with... all of sort of inexplainable but awesome shit.
I would also find a way to get all the freon to sink to the bottom of the bag and almost crystalize in a sense but evaporate as soon as it hit the bottom. Its so hard to explain... But I was making bags of it last forever blowing it back in then waiting for it to expand. If i wasnt careful though it get really hot and melt through the bag as it came out the top burnt my hands a few times doing that...

I call bullshit on you being a tech...we haven't used freon in years and you spelled gauge wrong

damn it Jimmy stop jizzing into the air conditioning compressor

Why does my ac make rattling noises sometimes

Not op but what do you mean you empty it? Did you open the service valves and vent the freon into the atmosphere?

it's should 50-70 usd in the city, maybe more,i don't know where you live to give an estimated price buy at my place it's around there

either it needs overhauling or very old unit thus bad alignment causing noise

It kind of smells like gas when i turn the AC on its one of the big air conditioners whats wrong with it?

Maybe I was just hallucinating like crazy but I swear I had the shit crystalizing and evaporating after blowing back in the first hit. I would also kind of blow on the bottom of the bag to cool it when it started expanding too much...
Can the stuff even crystalize and then evaporate depending on temperature and pressure? It would start out cold as fucking ice then got melting fucking hot after I started recycling hits.

can you take a photo if it and show me?
sorry guys I'm actually still working so I'm replying slow

Nah into a bag or something so I could inhale it. I wasnt emptying for no reason. Dont give a fuck I know its a low and disgusting thing to do just some shit i did in the past im not proud of

It's on top of my house even if i got up there There's a metal box around it

How much do you make? How high will your salary go?

Fuck then maybe I wasnt inhaling Freon what the fuck?? I was only doing this last year... all I know is it one was one the valves with a tiny screw on top and I would have to press the tiny pin in the valve to get it to expell
What else could it have been?

Nice digits dude

A lot of the CFCs and HCFCs are not being used anymore however HCFC-22 is most definitely freon and it's being used currently in many units at least until it's complete phase out in 2020. Also it's not all called freon because different companies market it under different names. And forgive me it's 4am where I am

Freon was a trade name Dupont used years ago, but it is banned now. It is called refrigerant, not Freon and huffing it won't do anything. It is dangerous to inhale if it just came out of a system as it is mixed with oil as a mist, but other than that, if it is a vapor wont do jack...just displace oxygen.

Is it worth having one of these in your house? Have you seen any more efficient ways to keep your house cool, that are cheaper?

go to bed andrew, you have work tomorrow

Refrigerant mixed with an oil. You're a fuckin' idiot.

Then explain why having oil in the lines is a bad thing.

sorry guys I gotta get back to work, will answer all questions if thread is alive when I get home,or I'll probably just make a new one in about 3 hours

Sorry I guess some old units could still have it....but I don't work on old shit so thought it was gone.

Because if theres oil during the installation, there is likely air in there too. And if theres ail, theres moisture. And moisture freezes and fucks up the pipes.

It's not bad at all. The oil is what helps the parts in the compressor move and the refrigerant is what moves the oil. What's bad is when there are non condensables(moisture and dirt)in the lines. We all know that moisture and oil don't mix.

i moved to texas from the northeast and my air is running constantly. now some kind of gross black goo is on the vents and i clean it off. is this a thing? is it actually black mold?

Nigger say what? There has to be oil or the compressor would seize up

Freon displaces oxygen. You were potentially suffocating. The only way you could have inhaled it is in gas form from the high pressure side and because this, the gas is hot, there is no way you could have even come close to freezing your lungs. Get the facts before you troll.

The a/c is telling go back home Yankee

true idiot. Oil in lines is bad, because if it gets to through the system, it goes to compressor side, and is non compressible. Basic refrig 101. That's why there is a filter

op here, actually they can,r22 liquid form could cause frostbite

Do you change the filter every 3 months?

Ok I get it now....you're just trolling...or retarded.
Oil circulates as a mist and does come back to the compressor as a mist, and does get compressed. The filter is just a desiccant to absorb moisture and trap any foreign particles.

yes

op here,it's wet dust actually, the aircond has to sucks in air to push out air together with refrigerated gas so everything inside the air around the aircond would get sucked in,including dust

Do you work on refers or ice machines at all? And do you use a lot of nitrogen when brazing?

only air conditioning im afraid, might expand into that field sooner or later

No shit op. I'm talking about the gas form. He never would have gotten liquid r22 past his lips. I hope you never work on my shit...

You're not the OP, but 2/10 for trying

Oil and refrigerant mix and the refrigerant carries the oil through the system. Efficient compressors are designed to handle a reasonable quantity of liquid oil. If not the oil falls to the crankcase of the compressor.

You don't adjust it, it's a measurement

new units are usually inverter units, they use r410a gas rather than conventional r22 gas and are more eco friendly, also inverters balance power intake so it's less taxing on your electricity bills, although compensated by more expensive maintenance because having the need to vacuum any air out of pipes everytime any pipework is involved

Do you use nitrogen alot?

Okay just wondered....I'm a reefer tech and we can adjust it, by adjusting the TXV

Freon is a brand name of refrigerant. Think Kleenex or Xerox

op here,top kek

is AC good money? i started training with a plumber and pipefitters union but would like to explore my options.

It doesn't matter what refrigerant you run. You should always put a vacuum on the system if you open it to the atmosphere.

...

no gas should be hot, maybe you just got frostbitten and everything feels hot,it happens

But you can't buy it anymore, that was my point

It's a great career if your wife has a good job and brings home a majority of the bacon.

I can't help you then

You don't know wft you're taking about

not Andrew bro,I'm working as I posted this

only to find out where the gas leaks are at

just ignore him...he is a troll

I don't vacuum any units running r22

We you should always use it when brazing, or you're a shit tier tech

So, because it's r22 you leave air and contaminates in the system?

Why do you guys keep responding to the troll?

Maybe I am the troll?

if brazing then yes of course it must be vacuumed

who would have thought that air conditioning systems were so complex!

so, it seems to be a relatively stress free, relaxing and enjoyable job. am i right?

It sounds complex yet it's a very simple process. Very similar to how your sweat cools your skin.

the only reason people vacuum aircond is either because they had to braze a leaking copper tubing OR the compressor runs r410a gas which is consisted of 2 types of gas forming r410a and must always be 50/50 balance that not even 1% of oxygen can mix in

that argument about the oils wasn't me

Wasn't me either.

it's better than construction, but relaxing not so,it's a pretty straightforward job and eventually becomes a grind once you know what goes where

this is why I wish they never removed the I'D

I know right!?! Now I never know when HEAVEN is lurking...

thread is dead,back to work

Ask a random stranger on the internet anything

Watch as other random strangers pose as stranger and answer questions incorrectly to amuse and befuddle the audience!!

i dont know...for some reason to me it seems a nice job, but maybe i have these clichés in my head: of the guy who does the work at his own pace, with headphones, listening to some music, maybe grab a coffee, waving to passers-by.. hows the pay?

Do you often install hard-start capacitors when servicing condensers?

R410a $80 kgish r22 $300 kg give or take ... depends what ya got

it's about 50% of that and 50% of serious work, pay is okay 2-3k depending on rank

only change a new capacitor if it's damaged or...when I need a couple extra bucks

Not op but with your air constantly on it's possible that there is condensate forming on/in your ductwork due to temperature difference causing leaks. And moisture definitely leads to black mold. However, without looking at it and your ductwork it would be impossible for me to tell.

wow, this is like a new subculture, Air-conditioning nerds: there should be forums for this on reddit

I need your help fam. The air conditioning of my upstairs neighbors rattles like crazy every night. Any easy to fuck with the outside box thing so it stops working?

Sounds like it has some loose screws on the grate that covers the fan. Try tightening them up.

Window unit?

Wry do air conditioning hate feminist?

I can't, it's a tall building and my neighbors are huge douchebags so there no way I can reach it.

Yeah. I was thinking of jamming something there but I don't know if it would do anything.

Another licensed HVAC tech here, to answer your question... Lots user. Id say 70% of "techs" don't understand shit

Nu-calgon evap cleaner. Don't get condenser kleen in your eyes, you'll regret it.

Good techs and union techs can make 80-120k usd a year w overtime. Benefits are good if you get into bigger companies. I'm in nebraska, so we have pretty steady work year round besides the nicer seasons. I work for myself, and do about 100-150 a year take home.

Jesus you guys are expensive. We are charging 40/lb 410 and 80 for r22... A 30 lb jug doesn't cost us that goddamn much

Not OP but no, you should not need a hard start kit if the unit was maintained properly. Compressors that have issues running and starting under load is what gets these.

You could Bend the fuck out of the copper tubing and rip the loose wire going into the wall, she'll stop running

>reddit

Aussie prices... its there way of phasing out r22

Why are Goodman unit's such pieces of shit?

I called an A/C tech to come out and change a busted capacitor in my unit. He seem disappointed I knew what was wrong with it. Is that because he knew he couldn't charge me as much?

year that's about it,because just changing a capacitor wouldn't net us much,if we were to only change capacitors for a days worth of work we're basically fucked, car fuel expenses and labour expenses just won't cut it

Because they're too good to be true man.

Probably. AC repair people are shifty as fuck, honestly. I had an evaporator coil with a hole in it that needed replacing. I had 3 different companies try to charge me 1000+ on labor (part was under warranty) saying that it would take 2 guys almost a whole day to do it.. before I finally found a company that did it for 600ish (still a rip off) and it only took one guy like 2 1/2 hours.

What's the craziest thing you have found in a unit?

the guy in the pic is it you?

Then you're not charging enough user. I don't like ripping people off but you've got to make a living.

bird nest with chicks in it,the only kind of chick I've been able to dig throughout my entire career

not mecompetition is too strong to overcharge people here

is that the new Xbox AR Power? wow! its already out! the controller looks awesome! thats the one for Augmented Reality. What games do you have already?

Do quality work and charge accordingly. You try to undercut everyone for business you'll only fuck yourself. Word of mouth is a power thing in this trade.

Okay OP.

If you're really an air conditioning tech then how do you get the foopadee do do wap rotating?

Or how about the bang bang chitty bang wackity doo de woop

yang yang ditty ditty zoop da dee dooo

Foo foo zoopa do nang nang noo?

>HVAC Tech
>Doesnt understand control modules or complex controller boards
Stick to your R,G,W,Y faggot

op here,I did not sign up for this kind of shizzle for swizzle

Yeah some of the advice and answers sure have been cringe worthy. Like Working out of a car.

I own a very old mobile aircondition, how do I get rid of smell that inevitably happens?

well I wouldn't carry my shit 5 km to the place of incident

car a/c isn't really my field of expertise sorry

How cool is your job?

I'm a guy that only makes 30k a year at best so I'm not exactly the super pro techs we call engineers, sorry I didn't live up to your expectations professional fags

Not Op but if he works field service for a company it fucking sucks. If he is his own "contractor" It's not that bad besides the labor.

These people are killing the planet, making it hotter, then they use even more AC.

You should start putting anthrax in the AC to save the world.

Do any of you guys use R1234 or is that just an automotive thing like R134a?
Also what are your thoughts on using flammable gasses?

>30k a year
>Doesnt have an unlimited journeyman

Keep to your ductwork faggot

lol, who would have thought....one of the most popular and long-lasting threads on b turns out to be about airconditioning systems....hahahaha!lol

Kekys

Das isy tlfkfkrkglaube

Shit is interesting and simple. Almost anyone with a basic knowledge of electrical could do the job watching enough youtube videos. Shit isn't magic...

Putting antrax in a system wouldn't do anything besides slug the compressor...

yeah...but my point is that apparently its more popular than the porn threads on here...

How do triple-effect absorbent chillers work and are they the same as blast-chillers?

The smell is from bacteria and you can get rid of it with an anti-bacterial spray

I only do cars so I am not sure if it is that simple for other systems

Burn it down

R12 Master race reporting in

Would you say you have a pretty cool job?

Get a Lennox instead

Genuine giggle

Also just for the record, 95% of the trade is landfill. Be careful who you hire

my central unit worked fine last summer, spent a year away, my sis stayed in the house. Now it just doesnt come on at all, I think she took the filter out and never put a new one in. Breaker wasnt tripped... Any idea on whats wrong with it? I'm broke, cant afford to have it serviced if its gonna be more than 100 bucks or so.

Installing ActronAir ESP Plus in new house I'm building.

What gotchas are there?? How is the AC company gonna try fuck me over or rip me off?
Should I care about what insulation ducting we use?
Where should the internal unit be placed? Current spec is wardrobe of spare bedroom is that OK?? Is it loud as fuck?

You might need to pull the outdoor disconnect, you could have a compressor trip and you will need to clean the condenser. OR if the indoor fan does not come on you could have a bad supply motor or capacitor. Really it can be a list of different things. First, I would set the thermostat to "fan" mode and wait if it comes on. If it does then the capacitor/motor issue isnt the problem. If it does come on and its not getting cool, go outside and feel the air coming off the condensing unit. If its hot, you're good to go if no fan is running you could have to pull the disconnect and clean the condenser and reset the safety on one of the lines.

You need check the safety switch on the furnace door. Its put their to keep people from getting shocked. Its a small black switch that pushes in. Take the door off and hold the button down. If you have an electronic board, the led shouldnlight uo and give you a fault code. The service door will have a number system that correlates to the fault.
>also ac tech

Damn how big is the house if you need a condensing unit that size?

Also Duct is important but Im not a duct guy persay, you might want to talk to an air balancer but I can say you do not want the non insulated duct, also avoid the accordion style duct because must people have a hard time sizing it and tend to leave long loops that drop static pressure to the vent.

5$ an ounce for r22

Also may want to see if the 5amp fuse is good. If you have a lit-up board with lights, then you have low voltage. Next you would need a multimeter to check for a 24v call from the tstat.

its a fucking capacitor dont listen to those fucking retards. costs 10 dollars tops at home depot, we charge 200-350 for one. youre welcome.

that was me actually,i just don't know how to make that fact sound more professional

Air condition - Jesus you soft motherfuckers..

My window unit keeps freezing up, tell me how to fix it if youre a ac tech? took half a semester in highschool

Live in Aus in area with no gas. Is like 0 in Winter and 40 in Summer (Celsius). Seemed better than split systems and BSing.

Will have Solar as well so free to run in Summer at least.

op here and this tip works...temporarily,but if the compressor does overheat then check the coil,it might be dirty thus causing the unit to overheat, that or overcharging gas above 80 by R22 standards or 170 by r410a standards

you pressurize the system with nitro to find any leaks after brazing. then discharge the system, vacuum, open king valves, diagnose a overcharge or undercharge unit and add or take refridgerant until 9 pressure split. usually a 17-21 degree split inside a well tuned system.

this is why a/c break down all the time,if the fan or the compressor is running fine the capacitor is fine, change it if you want you're only gonna waste 10 dollars with the machine continuing to be overheated

gas is probably below 50 in R22 standards, that or it's dirty,if it's not then charge in gas to about 65-70,you should know this if you took half a semester

thanks man

correct. if the condenser turns on and is running for a short amount of time then it is not a capacitor. you can run your hose on the top of the condenser over the motor and see if it stays on for longer. could be a motor

op here,i'm back to my pc so i'm able to answer questions to the best of my knowledge, odd no one mentioned ic boards, sensors or BTU yet

of course it's correct i am op

Why is it that time moves slower relitive to you as you approch the speed of light. I thought the speed of light was a constant?

Small company of about 10 people and 5 working bodies. I make around 10-15% of the job, being part of install crew most of the jobs are between 8 and 15k, a lot of the time we will have 3-5 installs a week. I can make between 75 and 105k a year depending on the amount of heat and how cold it is during the year.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;)

i wish i studied that, sounds more interesting than my aircond line of work

...

dick lenght?
got a gf?

op here, where you live at i might be willing to migrate to your place just for that wage god damn, also is it usd?

Furnaces are part of the air conditioning trade! they reside inside of your attic

who actually did 9/11 ?

no gf,3/10 fling that pays for 5 star hotels when we travel and the only reason i still keep her, below average length dick sadly

How does it feel to be a sexist pig?

the guy who suggested pumping in anthrax into the a/c

yes usd, northern california. How many years of experience do you have under your belt op?

honestly the company i work for is owned by my dad,i was surrounded by a/c since 3 years old,4 years proper working experience and studied in mechatronics c&c so it helped a little

Where do you learn how to bullshit people? Is it taught or just something you pick up along the way?

Both, honestly. Some are natural born bullshitters.

if you think i'm shitting you about the fact that i work in a/c field give me an area and i'll calculate how much BTU the room needs

>no college
>3 years out of high school
>making more than parents that went to college

seriously op if your dad owns that company find some practical publicity. or just break into people's yard and fuck their shit up, dont forget to leave your card though

9x9x10 room with a 3x3x10 walk in. go

Ton per 700 sq ft. So what?

they pay me 2k a month and i have no mortgage,my family went through very tough times to bring us to the middle class
9 as in 9' right?how many people in it

>BTU
Who the fuck cares about the amount of energy it takes to heat 1 pound of water 1 degree F

who the fuck calculates btu by ton

Not what I meant. I'm talking about when you are working a dealing with people.

the people that needs to calculate btu versus room size so that proper horsepower required for the room is implemented not undersized or fucking blizzard ice age shit oversize

yes, 1 person

12000 BTUs per ton. AC units come by the half ton you fucking tard.

not sure what you're implying but work meetings are done by my dad and i'm just something like a supervisor for the workers

How many aircons have you fixed?

HOw BIG is your team of certified air people

12x16ft room with 8 ft ceilings. Having a 73 person orgy. How many window shakers do I need to prevent everyone from getting swamp ass?

(9x9)x70+500=6170 you probably set 22-23 or above on your 1hp a/c thermostat otherwise you should be living in the antartic

you should pray to shrek for an answer

honestly?not really, some trainees are even dropouts

by the hundreds, maybe thousands not sure

how many grow ops have you found

if you're asking about a/c you're gonna need 50-55hp depending on coutry,some countries only provide 9000btu per 1hp a/c

what the hell is a grow ops

Here in the states 12,000 btu is a ton. I take it other parts of the world use hp and you're saying it's about 9,000 btu per hp? Interesting.

its on wheels but is actually not a car AC its just a portable AC and if my eyes don't tell me lies, its E-tronic AC909

Underage b&

i said above i'm not from US,so i have no idea what's a ton have to do with aircond, probably a measurement as we did with HP

Yeah. I explained that hereI was just making sure I understood you correctly.

...

will i be able to install a mini split ac my self?

so i can assume they calculate a/c by tons instead of hp in the us?

Where do I buy replacement fans for myself instead of paying thousands of dollars for y'all to install one?

HP can be used as measurement for refrigeration. OP does mostly pleb residential. Any monkey that can take a test can get a cert to do that shit

you can if you know how to properly bend a copper, install indoor outdoor unit with proper level balance so it won't slant, proper flaring/opening of aircond pipes to connect the outdoor, tools such as a heavy duty drill, the copper tubes itself with knowledge to install different sizes ranging from 2/8 to 6/8,PVC pipes, ability to identify china-made wires and 100% copper wires and the wires itself, proper insulation size and the list goes on,if you know what i'm talking about above you're good to go as they're the basics

i also work in industrial areas, factories with more than a hundred units under contracts and they're all calculated in HP here

not sure about your country but i buy them directly from manufacturers

Sounds like you're doing mostly warranty work.

those can only be done by the manufacturing engineers themselves,we're a resaler/service/project calculating crew

Gotcha. It's not hard to get a cert to do warranty work for residential/commercial units. Worked as manager in distribution/Wholesale for Hvac

You dawg.
This fucker isnt blowing cold air. The fan motor works and as far as I know to coils feel slightly chilled but not enough.

still working as it?how's the pay

if cold air is coming out but not exactly cold enough then it's undercharged, just charge in refrigerant gas

what if i where to install the wallmount unit run the lines and let a pro install the outdoor unit and charge it? i just dont really want the guy in my house. i need disgretion.

It's nice as a steady 9-5. But if you want to make money stay on that side of the counter. Central US 18-25$/hr. That's after 5 years

What kind of air do you breathe?

How much will a small heatexchange cost me? I wann to use the heat from Airexhaust (360m3/h) to warm up fresh air from outside when its Freising cold

tldr: If you're used to anything like this doing work around the house and aren't worried about wasting some money on a few potential fuck ups and new tools to make sure you do right then go ahead. The worst thing about doing it yourself is that you basically void your warrantyon the unit if anything goes wrong. The only critical parts are a properly bent tube, tight wiring, level unit and hole in wall. It's just a lot of steps with simple techniques.

you'll need a drill,screwdriver,5-8 wall plugs and equal amounts of screw, copper pipes depending on a/c HP or TON,pvc pipes, insulations, incoming supply wire and outgoing compressor wire, calculate the wall bracket to a proper water level then start drilling according to bracket holes, put in wall plugs, measure where the hole will be for the copper/pvc to go out of,start drilling, mount indoor unit and connect supply and outgoing wire then pull outgoing copper pvc out to the hole, leave the rest to them or just finish up what's left after that as the outdoor unit takes less work than indoor, albeit heavier work

Growing pot in there, eh?

hmm decent pay,thx for the info :)

Guys help I was at a party a few days ago and there was a small butane tube for reloading gas lighters. I remember in middle school we sometimes bought a large butane tube and went in a park to get high on it. I don't remember being a strong high or whatever and I wanted to try again. I only inhaled a little bit like a small puff then I looked at the tube and there was "CFC" written on it I think. I knew in my inebriated state that that has to do with freon or smth so now google confirmed it. I also remember my upper right part of the lung started to hurt but I thought it was from smoking. Am I gonna die at 50?

everybody dies at 50

No. You're going to die tomorrow.

welp thread is kill,i did not expect it to last this long

thanks for all the info this is great!
im prob gonna use a 2 or 3 ton mini, it gets cold where i live but i need to run ac during winter will i have problems with compressor if its cold out weather usually in 30s and 40s in winter

My father insists that we never install an air conditioner, he says it gives him severe headaches, so we spent this summer swetting like crazy. My question is, do you meet such people in your job who can't srand air conditioners ?

remember to screw the wall plugs before mounting, not like you can if you didnt screw anyways, glad i could help

if they can't stand air conditioners they wouldn't find me in the first place lmao, but no my place is bloody hot all year long so no a/c haters

>>air conditioning tech
>>not being a HVAC tech
Fucking pleb

sorry i didn't live up to your level of pussy drilling jobs

In my country there is a general belief that air conditiong ( when excessively cold ) is unhealthy. Don't know why exactly.

nice dubs AC bro
will the outdoor compressor fail during cold weather conditions? i need AC indoors when weather can range from 20f to 40f or around 0 c

The only effect refrigerant has is oxygen displacement. There's no point in huffing it. You'd do just as well putting a plastic bag over your head.

>Refrigerant mixed with an oil. You're a fuckin' idiot.

says the fucking idiot who has no clue how refrigeration systems work. google it nigger and get a clue before you spout off bullshit you know nothing about

it is slightly unhealthy as it dries up the air humidity, not sure how and why this would affect healthit's actually better if the weather is cold for the a/c,as long as the cold doesn't freeze the coil or ic board

The same way you adjust superheat on any other brand. Depends on the type of metering device. (Not OP btw)

Modern r-134 systems don't spin the compressor fast enough at idle so the cooling is much less. If it's not cooling at all at idle either you have a low refrigerant charge, or the switch that bumps up your radiator fan speed when the AC is on isn't working so it's not condensing properly.

the coil is dirty look at all that fucking dust buildup, I bet the blower wheel is caked in dust as well. that fucking dust on the coils will act an as insulator and also block the airflow

disgusting shit

OP here, there ARE oil in the pipes, the oils are liquid states of either R22 or R410A refrigerant gases,i decided to let this topic run its course as it gave me keks but it's time to end this pointless debate, the oil is the result of the gases reaching room temperature and becoming liquid state, touching these liquid as they try to reach temperature would result in frostbite

when the evaporator coil reaches a certain temp the compressor shuts off, its to protect it from freezing and damaging the compressor

try to reach room temperature*,e.g touching them as they're expelled from the nipple of the valve

his coil looks fine from here,a closer shot might be clearer to how dirty it is,the white spots are results of bent coils

hey stupid fuck you obviously quoted the wrong post, or are too fucking stupid to know that I was quoting someone elses post to prove them wrong. I know there is oil in the refrigerant lines thats what I said in the post you replies to fucktard

you fucking dumbass

aint touching that shit nigga

well sorry fucky mcfuck im just sharing info

OP still around?

Why in most residential installs to they not bother installing a duct in the bathroom?

yeah i was here half an hour ago, because the smell in the bathroom would go throughout the entire house and that wont end well

When you say big do you mean like an install central air system not a window unit?

the "crystals" were frozen moisture from the air I.e. Ice.

Not OP here but all refrigerant lines have oil in them. The compressor oil travels throughout the system with the refrigerant.

Yeah, sorry that's 100% wrong. Tech here, not OP.

I got a tiny arse room... Got a fan stuck in the world dow and a roof fan. It's still hot as fuck in here. Room is full of shit that I can't move out. Worth getting an AC? If so which type? I'm not rich but I can afford it I guess.

^^

It is absolutely adjustable, either via the txv or by the charge on capillary systems. Adjustable is a bit of a misnomer because every system has a set value it requires to run properly.

Depends on your idea of good. From what I hear good plumbers can make some serious cash. It's definitely cleaner than plumbing!

If he did it in 2.5 hours he did a shit job because it takes that long or longer just to get a decent vacuum on it. You've probably got tons of air and moisture trapped in your system.

I use a flammable petroleum based refrigerant in my car because it works a hell of a lot better than r-134a. My reasoning is that I have fifteen gallons of highly flammable gasoline already, what difference will a few ounces of refrigerant make?

How many of your jobs involve replacing copper
parts that niggers have stripped off HVAC systems?

That's some highly specialized shit. Most techs probably can't answer that.
