I agree with this but still think nukes are an enormous threat to human life when you take into consideration the fact that unstable states like Pakistan have nukes (which could fall into the hands of extremists/terrorists, if they overthrow or infiltrate the government).

I don't think a state will launch a nuclear strike against another state but we know that certain terrorists want to get their hands on nukes and actually use them (as opposed to states, who just want them to have them).

I think democracy works great, but not in its current form. Having everyone getting the vote means that the lowest common denominator of society has the power. In our case, it's the the career welfarers, the self-appointed victims, the non producers. Politicians pander to them, and society stagnates and eventually deteriorates.
