OP if you want this to evade law enforcement it won't work. The first thing they do after they take your computer is pull the drive out and make a exact copy of it. They use a device that makes sure the drive is READ only. so nothing will change what's on the drive. unless you wipe it with something like DBAN before the cops get it you're fucked. Just fucking encrypt your drive then they can't do shit as long as your password is strong and you didn't write it down somewhere.

There's an admin key for all data, and user key for some of the data. So if they force you to give the password, they'll only see the user accessible data and not the admin data.

Go to task manager and find svchost.exe.

Right click and press "File location" or
whatever the fuck it says to bring you to your explorer so you can see the file.

Delete that program for each of the running processes and restart your system.

This will force all your drivers to refresh and it should fix your Ethernet connection no problem.

If so, I could do a quick search for you and let you know the typical default login for this. We can also find out the default local IP for the control panel.

From skimming the thread, when it goes down next, ping your router and try to access it's web interface. Ideally from another device at the same time, say a smartphone. That will rule out if it is truly your PC or the router.

I can't be arsed to explain how to find the router IP, what pinging is, or explain the web interface.

You should listen to as well, you can assume the router IP (type this in browser like a site) is most likely to be 192.168.0.1, or some small variation like 192.168.1.0, or 192.168.1.1, etc. etc.

If none of those quick options work, you might want to open CMD and type "ipconfig" or "ipconfig /all" and see what IP that outputs.

When you get to the control panel, it should ask you to log in, username is probably admin and password is probably password, those are standards. Slight variations may work as well, if not, you can search for the default one for whatever company/ model you see and it should mention this on the site.

Perhaps you should consider GNU/Linux user, not even joking. Valve made a huge effort to port their shit over and support it heavily, and they do. The CS family is ported very well, and as long as you have a decent machine, it would run fine. Additionally, were you to have a graphical freeze, you wouldn't have to worry like Windows, you could just control + alt + fX to switch to a different TTY and open a task manager like htop and force kill the process, then switch back. I do that in Killing Floor occasionally because it sometimes hangs on server loads.

Forget which one is the router and which one is the motem but the same thing with the wifi which works on all devices and then it's connected to the thing that has multiple Ethernet outputs (one to my dining room computer that works on it, and one to my laptop which recently stopped working for no reason) it seems to be some compatibility issue over a corrupt saved IP address or something, like it thinks my Ethernet connection had different setting so now it cant recognize it or something. But I don't know where I would go to change that info stored in my computer, I forgot all networks and reconnected to mine but the Ethernet won't let me delete it's info even when unplugged. This is reached like a normal website but with a direct IP address. The most common of which are the following:

"192.168.1.0"

Please try resolving these IPs directly in your web browser as if you were connecting to www.google.com

If these IPs work, you should be prompted to log in with a username and password, the defaults of which are likely to be:

username: admin
password: password
