Cred Forums i'm doing research on BLM. What reasons are you for/against the movement?

I know, I'm expecting the worst. Fortunately, my views are very unbiased. Cred Forums can be a good place for information simply because of the anonymity.

In my city, the majority of BLM are white hipster/hippy college kids.

I'm against the movement because their protests aren't always peaceful. They sometimes end up in riots and they incite the killing of perfectly nice and honest cops who have done no wrong. As someone who doesn't live in the US and has grown up in a wealthy community with only a half Arab whose Arab parent is a doctor and a half Asian I have no idea what it's like to be in a minority group.

I can only start to think of how horrible it must be to know that police men are taught to be scared of you, to assume that you are a threat because of the way you look. But killing cops is not okay, especially not the ones who haven't done any wrong.

Obviously, if you find out some policeman has done wrong, he needs to be brought to justice. But from what I've found, they often are.

They have been around since about the beginning of this year:

Their list of demands includes reparations (American Families that DIDN'T own slaves will be paying taxes for black people whos families probably WERE'NT slaves),

They rally in poor neighborhoods that they supposedly try to support/end up looting, trashing that VERY SAME NEIGHBORHOOD.

They somehow got pork-barreled into an LGBTQ community. (they probably did this on purpose to unite as many people behind their cause on the left as possible so they can get more social programs, its a disgusting move, what the fuck do black lives have to do with Trans-gender bathrooms?!)

They commit crimes in protest which entirely refutes them as in the right and refutes the right to protest by not meeting the "peaceful" prerequisite.
They then do these things in a way that hinders society at large as a way to draw attention to themselves.

Ontop of that they're racist saying its whites being the source of the issue and entirely ignore the black cops on white citizens issue either by claiming it as just without any sort of evidence given or by claiming no such thing has happened. They also claim its purely for being black when its clearly happening to criminals which blacks coincidentally make a good portion of for how small a portion of the population they actually make up.

It's just pants on head retarded across the board and they then get angry and double down when people constantly point out their flawed logic.

This way, when there's nothing to show for their efforts other than more destruction of their neighborhoods, they can fall back and blame the invisible "system" once again.

Consider the "occupy movement," as their method is similar: They gather en masse to protest something intangible, accomplish nothing except gaining the disdain of society, and get forgotten within the decade.

I feel like just about every time one gets shot, the video released shows them ignoring what the police are telling them. Cops do make wrong decisions too but I don't feel like it is aggression specific towards blacks...but what do I know I'm a white male

BLM is a movement to reduce the amount of deaths of black people by police.

Some don't seem to care about what race the cop is. The movement is focused on the institution of policing and how it is violent in nature.

Some see the institution of prisons as oppressive organizations that serve no other purpose than to recreate modern slave plantations.

BLM is a leaderless movement (see GamerGate, Occupy Wall Street, Anonymous Hacking organizations). Therefore a pure mission statement doesn't exist. Many people are and are not racist within the movement.

The fact of the matter is that black people are getting shot by police. Everyone thinks they know why and they will raise hell to get it fixed the way they want it.

BLM protestors are a liberal leaning group. The solutions they present (Stricter gun control legislation, strict police and prison regulation) reveal their underlying belief structure. Some of their liberal beliefs are:
1. The proliferation of handguns has made cops more paranoid and will often shoot to kill in circumstances where their lives are not threatened.
2. Human beings are naturally predisposed to racist behaviors and this manifests in the social structure of majority white organizations.
3. The disproportionate populations of black people with low socioeconomic status causes them to seek a life of crime out of instinct rather than by choice.

Sure a scared cop here and there may shoot one who is advertising violent criminal culture but just about all blacks will be killed by blacks.

If black lives mattered, black people would make sure they and their kids know how to swim (black kids drown at a crazy rate compared to other races). They would control their diets and work on staying in shape.

Because the police aren't racist, sure there's racist cops, but this idea that all blacks are treated differently by the police is fucking retarded. There are laws to punish cops for not following their protocol, which are not always enforced, but they're there. Occassionally, a cop is charged for when they do something wrong, and that's progress.

BLM also has this idea that if someone comes at a cop with a gun, the cop shouldn't shoot them. Like the cops should always do everything they can to avoid using force no matter if it puts them in danger. They'll also ignore the facts when it's proven that the "victim" was armed and aggressive.

They don't realize that they're harming their communities with these protests, and they aren't giving cops any incentive to come to their communities to protect them from gangs and thugs that are the biggest problem in those communities.

I mean, FFS, this most recent incident was a black cop shooting an armed black man. And BLM still shouts racism and thinks this is a prime example. Full retard

If there is one thing so many of these cases have in common is police repeatedly asking the person to do something. Usually something to secure the situation like getting down, putting hands up, stop walking, stop resisting, etc. The Dindu Nuffin don't comply after ample warning. The police thing sometimes over-react. Step 1 to fixing this issue is just fucking complying to the police requests instead of automatically assuming something is unfair or racial targeting. Black culture has somehow over time developed this "act a fool" technique to get what you want. It doesn't work.

We're worse off with the race issue since we've had an African American president so sad
