Hey Cred Forums

Hey Cred Forums
What would you prefer as Frontend for an Database. My company told me to do the Front End in Microsoft Access. As you know this is a pain in the ass!

Would you prefer a Website or would it be better to do in C# or .NET?

Bump for OP.

Java

It's mssql
only Windows Pcs available

then you're doing it wrong m8

Or my Company is far beyond wrong.
They won't listen to recommendations

what's the issue with using MS Access?

>posgreSQL back end analytics
>TSQL if you're just shuffling data
Build a webapp with web2py framework in python, it connects to SQL DBs surprisingly well

Ever worked with it?
The update function via ocdb is, lets' say annoying.
The dynamic creation of a Form ha it's limits.
you need to build so many different Forms for some small changes.
It is really slow compared to different opportunities.

what's the db for?

it's for a develpoment department of a customer. Thex want to keep track of incoming test parts and what state they have. At the same time it should provide the Measurments of tests. At the same time there should be a growing todo list to improve the developed shit.

>linux

You're a fucking neanderthal

If you're a smart enough guy you don't need a stupid GUI to write your tables. Just get the DB up and use a decent text editor to manage your scripts

>doesn't know what a lamp stack is
>calls others neanderthals
ok m9

Force install Ubuntu 16.04 server or Debian 8.5. VestaCP is pretty good for newfags. If you have no BIOS/Kernel access then install vmware and do it on that. Tell your company to fuck itself if they don't like what you did.

implying i have access to server
>> only thing i got is access to the db

Then you're fucked. If I were you I'd find a job elsewhere.

got already one in prospect.
Considering going to another company specified in industry 4.0. Working mainly with c#

MS Access = cancer
Do AngularJS website + OData Endpoints API for DB access

>Cred Forums is that way faggot

>Front end
>MS Access
I don't have a fucking idea what you're trying to do here mate.

Access gets a lot of shit. Mainly because people out grow it super quick or need more functionality than its designed for. If your db is small in scope and function access is fine.

As long as you don't over promise you'll be fine.

That's the problem. It's already outgrown.

i got bored and thougt that Cred Forums could help me with that issue

Azure MYSQL easy cloud~~

You sound like a really cool guy.

Well it's my work. Not my profession.

the issue here is that backend is not front end. Forget about MS Access. Just pick MariaDB, postgre or whatever. Leave front end to Html/css/js, bonus loints for typescript.

Have you ever written a game in sql, like minecraft?

why should i do smth like that?
