Tracing isnt really the issue. He's not learning from the trace. Just posting shit he traced. If you copy a bunch of models and trace them thats fine but claiming it as your own is just wrong. We all struggled with a pose before and sometimes you trace that part on another image and then try again to fix your own image based on what you learned. Tracing is good for memory recall. Not giving him an excuse, posting it as your own is disgusting.
